Last night, it was like a hole somewhere inside me started to fill up and close, like the holes we dug in the sand on the beach that would gradually fill in as the waves came in, smoothing over, leaving no sign there was ever a hole there to begin with.

Rec: Sherlock + Magic = #ERROR%01! Set some 20 years after S4, this fic uses the vehicle of Sherlock’s hilarious head-on collision with a world beyond his comprehension to afford a glimpse into the future of the Holmes-Watson household. Relaxed, familiar domesticity juxtaposes with button envy, Muppets and pink flamingo parachutes for a very fun crossover dip.
A companion piece to ProtoSnape (HP/SS) for FandomTrumpsHate 2019
ProtoSnape by @suitesamba is one of my all-time favorite Snape fanfics. It pays tribute to all the most humorous and affectionate ways fandom likes to reimagine Snape, it handles the Snarry romance with deft humor, and throughout, SuiteSamba maintains a light, sure touch.
ProtoSnape is from Harry’s point of view. When I bid on SuiteSamba’s work for @fandomtrumpshate 2019, she revisited this story from Snape’s point of view, and PseudoPrince is the result. It’s funny and lighthearted and mature again, and gets at the heart of what I love about the writing of this character, whether by JK Rowling or by a masterful fanfic author: “Details were important. A figure that many might perceive in a negative light had to be perfect in every way.”
In canon, Snape’s dying request was that Harry look at him. in PseudoPrince, he lives! to learn what Harry saw when he looked at Snape.
I cannot recommend this lovely, humorous piece highly enough. Read them both and enjoy.
Eighteen years later, the real journey begins.

It’s done!
I know, it took me forever to get the second (and last) chapter done. Thanks for your patience and hope you enjoy it.
It’s a lovely, sweet, lyrical story.
Author's summary:
Part 1 - Sherlock (The Walking Man) Part 2 - John (The Waiting Game)
When it was all over, when the east wind had blown through and they’d picked themselves off the pavement, Sherlock said enough.
When it was all over, when Mary was dead and Rosie didn’t have enough family left for John to risk even an adrenaline high, John watched Sherlock go.

Rec: Christmas Tree (Snarry)
I received a fantastic gift work yesterday - a graphic panel/comic interpretation of a scene in one of my Snarry stories (“Finding Family.” )
What a wonderful treat! In this scene, Severus comes home to their shared flat early in their relationship to find a sad little Christmas tree with its root ball wrapped in burlap.
You can find this wonderful comic on AO3 here:

Fic Rec: With Eyes Wide Open by Suitesamba.
Title: With Eyes Wide Open.
Author: Suitesamba.
Status: Complete.
Word Count: 70k+
Summary: When Narcissa Malfoy calls in her life debt so that Severus can fulfill the terms of his grandfather’s will and secure the Prince family estate, Harry agrees to marry Severus Snape and live with him for a year and a day. But Prince Manor hides a secret in its overgrown gardens, and Narcissa isn’t helping Severus out because of her kind heart. Harry thinks he’s going into the marriage with eyes wide open, but he has to maneuver around the Malfoys’ machinations and come to terms with his growing feelings for Severus even as the magic in the gardens gives his life a new, unexpected purpose.
Warnings: None.
Themes: Acceptance. Love. Deceit.
Genre: Romance.
Narrative: Usual baby making, tingling, majestic narrative by Suitesamba. So you must know the drill.
Brief Character Breakdown: There is something weirdly romantic about this Severus. But not exactly in his characterisation. If anything he is quite aloof and proffesional, but there is definitely something.... mellower, without quite reaching that. The hard edges are absent, that’s for sure, but that absence is also noticed. He is quite a passionate man in here, quite adept at pleasures of the flesh, which might be a tad too odd for some Snarry readers.... so maybe that should be my warning.
Harry is beautiful. Secretive, self-less, a helpless romantic, and just so sweet and cute and precious. My son.
My personal opinion: These stories that orbit around plot ideas like houses or forced marriages are a favourite of mine, especially when Harry and Severus are more or less on equal grounds. There is a tad bit of plotting and scheming and Slytherins being Slytherins for reasons unknown, but it all ends well. This is mostly about Harry and Severus’ relationship, and it doesn’t really sell itself as anything more, which is fine by me.
