اللہ والوں کی صحبت

یہ عشق کا سودا اللہ والوں سے ملتا ہے ۔کہتے ہیں کہ برف ملتی ہے برف والوں سے،کپڑا ملتا ہے کپڑے والوں سے،سونا ملتا ہے سونے والوں سے،لہٰذااللہ بھی ملتا ہے اللہ والوں سے۔اللہ والوں کی صحبت میں چند دن گزار کر دیکھیں دل کی کیفیت کیا ہوتی ہے؟خود بخود اللہ کی محبت دل میں بھرے گی۔کہتے ہیں کہ خربوزے کو دیکھ کر خربوزہ رنگ پکڑتا ہے ہم کہتے ہیں اللہ والوں کو دیکھ کر دنیا رنگ پکڑتی ہے اور خود بخود دل میں اللہ والوں کی محبت آتی ہے۔

Remembrance is like a fire that neither stays nor spreads. When it enters a house, it says, “It is I; there is no one else but Me,” which is one of the meanings of “There is no divinity but God.” If it finds kindling inside, it consumes it and becomes fire. If it finds darkness therein, it becomes light, thus illuminating the house. If there is already a light in the house, then it becomes “light upon light”

God is much too great for the senses to reach Him, or for reason and logic to plumb the depths of His majesty. Indeed, He is much too great for anyone but Himself to plumb the depths of His Majesty or for anyone but Himself to know Him. Verily, no one knows God but God. The highest degree of gnosis that His servants can attain is the realization that true gnostic knowledge of Him is impossible for them. Furthermore, no one can know that in its totality except a Prophet or a righteous saint (siddiq).

As for the Prophet ﷺ, he has clearly expressed this by saying, "I cannot enumerate the ways of praising Thee; Thou art as Thou has praised Thyself." As for the righteous saint, he says, "The incapacity to attain realization is a realization."

The Soul’s Nutrition.

…. To proceed. Mankind consists of two components. One is the body and the other is the soul. The body’s relation is with the created world, the apparent material world. It can be compared to the home. Its inhabitant is the soul, which is related to the world of the command, the inner world. The two components have unique requirements. In order to preserve and grow, the body requires nutrition. The soul also requires nutrition, but its nutrition and tranquility lie in abundant remembrance of Allāh, and following the best of examples ﷺ .

یاد حق آند غذا ایں روح را    مرہم اند ایں دل جمروح را

Remembrance of al-Ḥaqq is indeed the food of the soul; And the balm for a wounded heart. (Rūmī)

If the body’s permissible natural needs are not fulfilled and care is not taken, then various illnesses will afflict the body. In the same way, if the necessities of the soul are not met and ugly character not avoided, then spiritual diseases will encompass it. Just as pneumonia, malaria, tuberculosis and typhoid are the names of physical diseases, in the same way, pride, vanity, ostentation, gossip, rancour, malice, jealousy, greed, lust etc. are the names of spiritual diseases. Remember that physical diseases weaken the body and disturb outer actions. Similarly spiritual diseases, or sins, affect the heart and weakens one’s faith. Thus the Chief of both worlds ﷺ said, “When the slave commits a sin, then a black spot falls on his heart. When he stops and repents, then his heart is cleansed. If he continues the sin, then the black spot increases, until his entire heart blackens.”

Perfection of Morals: CHAPTER ON IKHLAAS (SINCERITY) IN ACTIONS

During the spiritual sojourn (Sulook) at the time of the revelation (kashf) of ma-aarif and mysteries, and manifestation of celestial illumination (anwaar), the Saalik's intention is not to halt. Reality (Haqeeqatul Amr) calls out to him: “Your Goal lies ahead.” The external beauty of worldly things is revealed and it attracts the Saalik, but their realties loudly proclaim: “We are a trial. Do not be ungrateful by indulging in us.”

When the servants of Allah, while traversing the spiritual sojourn engages in thikr, fikr and muraaqabah (contemplation), and numerous kinds of mysteries and realities cascade on their hearts, then on account of the spiritual ecstasy they experience, they engross themselves in these states thinking that this is the goal (maqsood) of Sulook whereas this is not so. Divine Guidance (Taufeeq-e-Ilaahi) and the Kaamil Murshid's shadow are at hand (to guide the saalik on towards the Goal of Divine Pleasure).

It is inspired into his heart: “Your Goal is ahead. Don't halt here. Advance! These conditions and states which you are experiencing are creations like yourself. They are not the Creator, your Goal is Khaaliq Ta'ala.”

Similarly, the external beauty of worldly objects by being revealed to the Saalik, attracts him to them (worldly objects). If deviation has been decreed for him or if he lacks the company of a Kaamil Murshid, he becomes entrapped in these worldly objects. He regards these worldly allurements as the medium for the attainment of the Goal. 

If Divine Guidance comes to aid, the reality of the objects of this transitory world become manifest to him and they (the hidden realities of worldly objects) loudly call out to him: “We have been created by Allah Ta'ala as a trial for you. Do not be ungrateful to your Creator, Allah Ta'ala by engrossing yourself in us. Proceed ahead of us.” 

Do not intend to travel from one creation to another creation, for then you will become like the ass operating the grinding stone. The point which is the beginning of its sojourn will also be the end of its sojourn. Rather, travel from makhluqaat (created objects) to Khaaliq (The Creator). Allah Ta'ala says: 

“Undoubtedly, the end (of Sulook) is your Rabb.”

The Maqsood-e-Asli (True Goal) of the Searcher of Allah is Allah. His gaze must be focused on his Master in everything. The purpose of all acts of ibaadaat, thikr and shaghl is the diversion of the Saalik's gaze from all things besides Allah so that the heart becomes absorbed in the remembrance of Allah Ta'ala.
