I’m so annoyed lol but in like a haha way. Some of you are so hung up in apparently calling people “conspiracy theorist” and “wankers”; saying how people who are anti sylki/Sylvie/Loki show still use the “overused dna/related nonsense”.

I wonder if some of you deliberately ignore people’s valid criticism (how inaccurate was the genderfluid and lgbtq representation), deliberately accuse people of gaslighting and being a nuance to the fandom, so you all can stay in your little delusional bubble.

Using the show’s logic, since diverted timelines come from the same timeline, there shouldn’t be variant that look drastically different (a Tom Hiddleston Loki to a black version that is Boastful Loki to a stupid redundant joke of an alligator Loki). Because they come from the same timeline. But fine lets say there’s some sort of “mutation” or some weird lottery of genes that happens that for some reason doesn’t automatically prune the timeline (assuming so because there needs to be a version of a black Loki so that He Who Remains can exist..? But then a “female born Loki” should have immediately alerted the TVA. Who fucking knows with the show’s logic). Why would they NOT be related? They get pruned because up to that point, everything has been exactly the “same” or has been running in a way where it doesn’t disrupt the rise of Kang. Like let’s think about it. Because trust and believe there’s no reasoning that defends this.

Either they are all related because trust me it sounds wrong as hell to say that Boastful Loki and Sylvie can’t be related because one is black and one is a female or none of them are related which still makes no sense since they all stem from the same timeline.

For Kang to have one single stream where he prevails as HWR, it means he has to have the TVA constantly prune every diverted timeline down to the most minuscule reason. Which means none of those pruned Lokis, especially the ones who look drastically different to the sacred timeline Loki, should have grown up at all. Because then that will mean that the TVA sucks ass at their jobs (nothing new).

So really this whole “they are not related” debate is ridiculous. But I get it; it’s the shows fault. Although from watching the show, it seems to me that these are the ground rules they laid. Rules that even they didn’t follow through enough.

Either way, it’s bad that I keep finding holes to poke on this story.

It doesn’t help that many of you are ignoring the fact that Sylvie’s creation as a character came with the price of using Boastful Loki, that other backgrounder POC Loki and the rest of the backgrounder Lokis as Marvel’s fodder. POC Lokis we’re tokenized for a selfcest ship. And enough people are not talking about this.

So you guys now know I quit my job with a big hardware company. My mom knows, as do most of my friends, but my dad does not know yet bc my mom (understandably) doesn’t want to be the middle man anymore. I wasn’t planning on telling him myself tbh - personally, after all his bullshit, I don’t think he has any right to know about what I do or don’t do for work. In fact, if he never knows where I work again that would be amazing, bc then I don’t have to fear him showing up out of the blue when I finally go full No Contact.

Well, here’s a fact about my dad: he thinks he needs to be in control of every fucking thing so long as it involves me or my mom. He also has this undying belief that you don’t quit a job without another one lined up, and that it’s incredibly important to find one with benefits.

And like, sure, that’s true - for people who don’t have to worry about their lives being put at risk. Which is the situation I’ve been in the past 2 fucking months.

I quit my previous job bc they did not handle covid well, if at all. The would not shut down during an outbreak, and went so far as to hide it. Nothing changed in the 2 months since my last working day there - customer mask rules are not enfouced, and none of my coworkers were encouraged to be tested despite several of us catching the virus.

Well, today I scheduled an interview with a company I’ve worked for in the past. I have that interview tomorrow, so I asked my mom if she wouldn’t mind bringing me some professional shoes that I left at their house, bc I didn’t bring anything like that with me.

Well, I got this from her not long after I made the call and I’m livid.

First of all, neither of them need to be involved with my shit. As of right now, my dad does not pay for ANYTHING except:

Health insurance (which I will be forced to pay on my own come February)

Therapy (that he fucking caused in the first place)

Secondly, my mother has nothing to do with this. There is not one reason she should be getting yelled at when I have made the decision to quit a job that put my health and possibly my life in danger. This isn’t her fucking decision, it’s mine.

Thirdly, these priorities are so fucked up. Benefits are good, yes, but what good are they if I’m dead? Considering the shit I’ve been through these past 2 months, there is not one doubt in my mind that a company would absolutely do everything in their power to try and get out of helping their employees. If they can fire me while I’m out with another illness within even a hair of it being legal, they’ll fucking do it. (Fun fact, any payment I’ve received from my previous job for covid has not been correct - they paid me within hours below my average work week, under my hourly rate.)

Going back to point one though, I have not lived under his goddamn roof since March of 2020. It’s been 9 motherfucking months. And he’s still trying to control the shit that I do. I should add that since he proved to be a fucking terror while I had covid, I haven’t directly spoken to him for more than a total of 5 minutes. 5 minutes of “conversation” in 2 motherfucking months. And it was only if he answered my mom’s cell phone (which he shouldn’t be doing in the first place, the fucking creep).

I can’t express enough the fear I feel when he says this kind of shit. He knows what he’s doing - when I was at the height of my symptoms and my mom was bringing me something, we didn’t fucking know he was in the car with her till Bacon heard his voice over the intercom of the gate caller, several days after he CALLED MY DAD to tell him to back off bc of the stress it was causing me. Do you know how fucked up that is? To come unannounced to imply “I know where you are and I can show up whenever I please”? And this isn’t even mentioning the fear I have of having a medical emergency and he tries to make a decision for me (especially after I realized that he wanted me on so many medications bc being emotionless made it easier to control me).

I know it’s hard for some people to understand why this shit is scary - it won’t make sense when you haven’t experienced the constant 20+ years of emotional abuse. But to be able to be in a poisition where I can look at this message and finally be able to clearly understand that it’s really fucked up is both empowering and terrifying. I don’t know what he’ll try to do when I finally tell him to never contact me again.

Sorry for the fucking long ass, depressing post. The stress from the past two months has finally started to hit me, and my anxiety is spiking bc of it. This might be the last straw that makes me have a meltdown tonight tbh (just a lot of crying and sleeping after).

I’m just so tired.

man the recent stuff that’s happened makes me think I might not really stay in the st0ny fandom by the time a4 rolls around after all.

like. it’s literally: tony breathes, let’s write 2k words of meta on the 932803829083 possible meanings of his breath, and also always take the most flattering possible take on his character and to use it as a way to frame him as the Best Person Ever(tm); steve has a half-scene that’s completely out of context and no one even knows what it means, let’s slam his entire character, say he has no arc (he has a very fucking clear arc about his role as a soldier and his relationship with authority, but who cares, it’s not the arc YOU want - aka, it’s not related to Tony - so it basically doesn’t exist), he doesn’t grow or evolve even though he’s been doing that since his very first appearance, MCU steve is Actually The Worst because I Said So, etc etc.

it’s just... so goddamn frustrating and upsetting and not fun at this point. i swear i’ve been in tons of fandons and ships and i’ve never seen one whose subfandom was so unbalanced. when i started getting into the ship i saw people saying some steve writers had left the fandom and moved on to stu//cky and i was like “wow, i wonder why”, and now i’m just like “oh yeah. oh yeah i fully get it”. it’s the tony fandom, with occasional participations by steve to let us all know how great and sad and misunderstood tony is. 

and i don’t WANT to leave, i really don’t, i’ve gotten such nice feedback on my writing and i have a lot of ideas i want to explore, but it’s s just... it’s getting draining, it’s ruining stuff for me. 

like i already don’t follow any tony blogs. i don’t follow anyone with that goddamn “t0ny st4rk defense squad” description. even reading tony meta is getting tiring for me lately, because it’s not even meta at this point, it’s just pure Whump, phrased in a more pedantic way. 

and now fandom is just leading me to dread actual canon stuff i was previously looking forward to/okay with. like the idea steve dying to save tony - i was fine with that because hey, my ship, and etc, but now i just hate the idea that this fandom who treats tony as steve’s sole reason for existing is gonna get validated in some way. 

idk. i still have my HE fic to write, and my MTH auctions to get to. this isn’t a “i’m jumping ship” post. this is more of a “...maybe i will jump ship in the future, maybe jumping ship is not that distant of a possibility to me” post, which makes me sad because i’ve never gotten to this point before. it has to do with other factors, sure, such as the fact that RL is really sucking right now and it’s just frustrating to not find escapism on the one thing that’s supposed to my fun hobby.  but, idk. it’s been in my mind lately.

I’ve just been way too lazy to collect my thoughts, but I just got off an airplane at my layover flight and saw the message and I am READY FOR THIS.BLATANT and HORRIBLE character hate under the read more so if u are a fan of flocke please move along u are allowed to love him all u want but I sure don’t.

I DESPISE Flocke. I hate him literally, like, unabashedly. I hate everything about him and it started long before he said that BS to Hitch and made it worse. I have vehemently believed for YEARS that Marlowe was originallty built up to be a contrast to Eren. Not in the same way that Jean is, but in a way that was going to challenge the way that Eren views things. He was compared by Annie to Eren, by Eren’s friends, and both of them are in different, strange places on the Lawful Good scale that, despite being on the same scale, still contrast which is one of my favorite things. (I love LG characters and I LOVVVEEE when characters show varying definitions of alignments). The serum bowl was the perfect-- absolutely PERFECT-- time to showcase that contrast. The confliction between Marlowe’s definition of what was right and good, and of Eren’s definition of what was right and good. It was built up, it was leading right for it-----and then Isayama.. Backed out? At the last second?I’ve thought about it a lot but I think that he might have decided Marlowe wouldn’t be able to hold up his argument in the face of his friends (since he had gotten closer to the 104th and it may have gotten easier to change his mind and convince him that was right), but I’m not certain what happened. I am POSITIVe that that was where Marlowe was meant to end up, though, and his death basically shafted us an incredible character.In his place... We get... Flocke. We geeeeet flocke. This thrown together wet piece of paper who can’t even support his own arguments. We get a flat, boring, totally unrelatable character meant to fill in this missing gap left behind by Marlowe. It didn’t flow, it didn’t make sense, and I think that Flocke was the worst thing I’ve ever seen Isayama produce. He’s forgettable, unimaginitive, and basically a fucking asshole lmfao. He had a poor argument for Erwin fans (if I was an Erwin fan I would have been beside myself angry???), and idk. Basically I think it would have been better suited, more interesting, and way more believable to have a well established character like Marlowe argue in the serum bowl.Beyond this role fill, what the hell is the purpose of being a dick to Hitch too? The only thing I can think is that it might be to motivate her. What he said to her was jarring. It was upsetting. It shattered her protetive perceptions of Marlowe’s death and how brave he was. There was no reason for it, unless he’s just being tooled for something to do with her as well. If nothing comes out of that exchange in the future, it was just as uselsss as any other thing he’s said.I hate flocke lmfao... I really hope we never see him again, or if we do, maybe that he... I actually think Kill la Kill and Puella Magi Madoka Magica are extremely similar.

Both are series created for the seinen (older male) demographic, yet attract a large number of women and girl fans due to the complex, layered, and primarily-female cast that both shows boast.

Both series get some of the absolute worst Discourse regarding feminism—that somehow still manages to super overlook the gross, basic fact that both shows feature the incredibly nasty and uncomfortable over-sexualization of underage girls. (Which, probably contrary to popular opinion, I honestly think is worse in Madoka because the girls are literally, like, 14!!! At least a bunch of the Kill la Kill cast are legal adults.)

Both series also receive (imo) extremely undeserved praise for their depiction of wlw relationships, as both series are created for men and the depiction of these relationships caters to men rather than other wlw—something that feels horribly, explicitly clear when Madoka scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi can only say that Homura “probably” loves Madoka and doesn’t think that anything in the show is as “special” as “homosexual love,” but just “a lovelike-relationship without sexual attraction,” and when Kill la Kill scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima proclaims that “THERE IS NO ROOM FOR LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS IN KILL LA KILL” (and the big reason that the show is thought to have at least one wlw relationship is due to a nasty, uncomfortable, non-consensual joke kiss that was purposely animated poorly because it’s meant to be a joke, because of course wlw relationships must always just be crude, nasty jokes for the Male Gaze, right?).  In both cases, the series don’t want to “follow through” with a real, actual, canon wlw relationship because the anime are both made for men and so many men can’t stand to think of their “waifus” being into women and not into them (just take a look at what happened with Overwatch and Tracer/Emily).

Both series are discussed to death about being “deconstructions” of this or that or the Magical Girl genre.

Both series feature aliens making a mess of the Earth.

Both series have absolutely rad soundtracks and animation.

Both series refuse to have a happy ending, because of course someone who is “different” and doesn’t quite fit in (Homura, Senketsu) don’t deserve happy endings with the people they love—that’s unrealistic (and Magical Girl magic definitely isn’t!)!

Both series attract super negative, salty posts like this.

you are not mean, only overly negative. however thats not *all* that you are. your environment and mental health play a big part in it.

This is honestly something I know I need to work on because I don't like being overly negative and bitter >_> Like you said its caused by my mental health but it's also not gonna make my mental health better by being more negative, just worse. I think my problem is just that I'm not self aware enough which I need to work on.
