super pmd partner is really adhd and autistic coded and I love them
yo i wanna talk about the languages in pmd so from the games (and my foggy memory of them) I remember there being ‘normal’ writing - footprint runes, unown runes, and ancient footprint runes.
Then we have the human language, which may or may not have multiple (as other spoken languages are canon) and so when we have these humans enter the pokemon world they gotta learn a whole new written language at the very least, right?
idk, it makes me smile to think about at the very least
The final battle of Gates to Infinity with a few of my personal touches. When comparing Dark Matter to the Bittercold, I tend to say Dark Matter is a little better but only in a few ways. Those ways being the color scheme, overall design (even if said design is a bit of a rip-off of Yami from Okami), the entire cinematic presence it carries, and the music (because it's one of the best final battle music I've ever heard). However, none of this means that I prefer Dark Matter overall. I really disliked how Dark Matter could speak. It took away the feeling that it's a cosmic, negative entity that's not of the Pokemon world, and the fact that the partner somewhat talked it into being good by accepting it really didn't help. It also doesn't help that Dark Matter's presence in the story felt inept and rushed. There was absolutely no build up to it, it contradicts the message and everything else that happened in Gates to Infinity and the whole thing overall felt out of place, and I feel like the game would have been better if Yveltal was the main villain instead. This brings me back to the Bittercold. I like the fact that it didn't speak, and that it had no character. It gave me the feeling that it was a mindless, malevolent thing, some eldritch being born from the dark, pessimistic emotions of the Pokemon, and the way it was built up and everyone's reactions to it made me believe that there was absolutely no way to stop it from consuming the world. Aside from it's underwhelming design, and the severe lack of the epic, cinematic scope that Dark Matter had, the idea behind the Bittercold is still very frightening in my eyes, and it makes me think that something like it might exist in our world, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself... So with all of this in mind, I decided to draw my own version of the Bittercold, giving it the traits and colors from Dark Matter, as well as a Lovecraftian edge, to create the terrifying, epic presence that it really needed.
Tw for blood!!!!
God I really just made this and not Nuzdad is legit terrifying when he hunts
Poor Alex never stood a chance...
I'm so glad Dark Matter got what they deserved >:[
