Pokemon Card of the Day #2369: Super Potion (Evolutions)

Super Potion was one of the original Base Set cards, but it got a reprint first in XY and then in Evolutions. The updated version was similar, but healed a bit more. The Item, when played, let you heal 60 damage from 1 of your Pokemon, but then you had to discard an Energy attached to the Pokemon. Losing the Energy was a pain, and attacks could hit a lot harder than 60. This meant that Super Potion wasn’t the best option most of the time, though if your strategy was to use a tank to get through hard hits, a combination of this and things like Pokemon Center Nurse and maybe even an Assault Vest could make something very hard to take down. With the format mostly relying on trying to KO bulky Pokemon in 2 hits, there was some limited opportunity here, though in general you’d probably want to avoid healing half a typical attack and losing an Energy in the process.
