watching supergirl season 6 after literal years (took a break from the show) and I'm thinking wow kara and lena's chemistry is kinda undeniable, why didn't I like them before

then I remember how awful lena was when she found out kara was supergirl

don't even get me started on the fucking supercorp stans (btw? dumb name, karalena is literally right there), what the fuck did william dey do to y'all for you to celebrate his death?

in theory, i'm not opposed to kara having a civilian as her love interest, but so far, in all of supergirl media, william dey is the only one i've loved and think could be a long-term partner for kara.

william is fucking insane in the best way possible. he's insane in the same way kara is. william is a force of journalistic nature, the same way lois is. what makes lois so special makes william special too. his best friend gets murdered, so he goes on a crusade to get him justice. he moves to another continent just because he's chasing a story. he can't get close to anyone because he can't be fully honest with them. he wants nothing more than to get justice for russell, but not at the expense of others getting hurt. no one should get hurt because of him. he wants to protect everyone. and if anyone has to get hurt, it should be him, because this is his mission. this is literally kara's way of thinking when it comes to being supergirl.

william is also an immigrant, just like kara. and that's such an interesting aspect to explore. he's the only human love interest kara has who isn't american. he can relate to her in ways others can’t. he can understand her fully. and that’s something kara deeply wants in a romantic partner.

kara and william also share the same morals. they're like-minded people who can still challenge each other and bring out the best in each other. kara has a more emotional approach to her stories, while william’s is more logical. neither is better, it just depends on the situation whose method works best. also, both of them are polyglots, so there’s that too.

all in all, i think a civilian love interest could be a great fit for kara, as long as you make them truly relate to her.

Now that this show is over, I think it's fair to say that while those psychos didn't get what they truly wanted, they still managed to get something that they did want, which was for Kara to not be with anyone else.

I still can't for the life of me understand what happened with Kara/William and why they couldn't just stick with it (unless Staz asked the writers to free him from the drama). Writing should serve the story and not be dictated by a faceless Twitter mob.

Because anyone who started this show in Season 1 knows that Kara didn't want to go through life without a romantic partner.

But at the end of the day, it looks like these pathetic writers let the toxic assholes derail these ships: Karamel, Guardiancorp and Superdey. I am not adding Karolsen to it because I think the writers ended it for non-fandom reasons but it could also be a casualty.

As I sit at home, all I can say to all future writers is that the internet doesn't represent the whole world. In fact, only a tiny fraction of viewers spend time online tweeting about their shows. So please, don't let angry people with multiple usernames steer your show. And most importantly, do not give in to bullies.

I wonder why exactly everyone says Will doesn't have a personality. That's like something someone said and the echo chamber repeated without thinking a lot.

What exactly do they consider 'a personality'? Will is fuckin precious and his personality is being the best.

William is the guy who:

Left all his life behind to search for justice for his best friend's murder.

Pretended to be a jerk so people wouldn't come close to him and no one else would die. Because he was investigating dangerous people and he wanted to make sure he didn't accidentally hurt someone. That's more than most people ever do.

He hates Andrea. He thinks Andrea killed his best friend. To control his anger he yells at a fake Andrea in a videogame. Yells. He doesn't have murder fantasies like OTHER characters.

When he develops a crush on Kara he never insists when she rejects him, yet he still cares about her and tries to support her as a friend. It's Kara who after resolving her trust issues caused by OTHER character admits she wants to date him too.

And my personal favorite: When Nia ghosts him to do all their work alone, without her, Will is perfectly understanding and never takes it against her.

William Dey is an ANGEL and deserves only good things.

So Andrea presumably sends her reporters out to write an article on the Superfriends. I just wonder whether they will write one by the end of the episode and then that plot is done or whether William will work on this for longer? That would give him a plot for longer, if he tries to track down interviews with all the different Superfriends. (and him interviewing “Sentinel” and “Guardian” at some point would be really neat) 

Now looking at these pictures I imagine the conversation between Kara and William to take place under super-veiled circumstances where they abstractly discuss Supergirl and what great responsibilities she has and how she probably doesn’t have time for a relationship. Rather than you know, the more obvious thing like William just going up to Kara and saying “hey, where have you been, why didn’t you keep in touch, I presume that means that you didn’t enjoy our date”. 

But maybe the show will prove me wrong in that way. 

IMO an interesting way to do it would be if Kara and William actually had the straight up conversation where Kara says she is sorry, but she doesn’t have time for a romantic relationship in her life now. And William is kind of bummed out and then later in the episode gets to interview Supergirl who tries to give him comforting words.
