"You are like the sun and I am the night, whenever I'm feeling down you pick me up, and when you feel down I will hold you tight" Kate and Kara (Kara needs a all the hugs)
You’re right anon, Kara deserves all the hugs.
There are things that Kate's not entirely sure about. Like if Alice will be her sister again, or if her family would come to turns of Catherine's death and a few more.
But there are things that she knows. Like wanting a better relationship with Mary, how she's come to terms with Sophia's marriage and how she's found someone else as well. She knows that whenever Kara comes to visit Gotham, she brings light with her.
How her smile brightens up the room whenever she smiles. How she's so much happier with Kara then she's been in a long time.
So when Kara walked into her bar without her usual happy self, Kate knows there's something wrong.
"Hey Kara," Kate greets as Kara walks in further. Sitting on a stool far from everyone, she groans and rests her head on the bar.
"Give me a cold one Kate," she mutters and Kate has a difficult time keeping in her worry. Kate grabs two bottles and goes to sit beside her.
It's slow today so Kate's not too worried about the customers.
Handing on to Kara, she takes a sip of her own and faces her. "What happened this time?"
"I just can't figure out what he's up to," Kara answers before drinking the beer.
"It's driving you crazy isn't?"
"So much! And it bothers me that everyone knows Lex Luthor as the good guy."
"But you still have people on your side that knows the truth," Kate pointed out. Kara nodded leaning her head on Kate's shoulder.
"Thanks Kate," Kara murmured, closing her eyes as she felt a kiss on her head.
"Of course. Can I tell you something?" Kara hummed for her to continue. "There aren't a lot of things I'm sure about. But there is one thing I'm really sure about."
"And what's that?"
"You." And Kara could feel her cheeks slightly burning, "I'm sure that you are like the sun and I am the night, whenever I'm feeling down you pick me up, and when you feel down I will hold you tight."
"When did you become such a poet?" Kara asked, lifting her head to look at Kate.
"Since always," Kate answered, smiling.
"Yeah?" Kate hummed and Kara leaned in to kiss her. "I don't know about that but I'll take it."
"Good. Now, let me kick everyone out and we can go back to my place for a cuddle session."
"I thought you weren't much of a cuddle person," Kara mused watching her get up and ushering people out.
"I'm not but when it comes to the right people and when they need it I'll do it."
"I feel special," Kara said, getting up and following her out.
"You should, you mean a lot to me Kara."
"You mean a lot to me too Kate."
So they might not be ready to say I love you, but on some level they know. And one day they'll be ready.
