So I haven't played 3 and cant speak to the supermutants in it but the differences between the mutants in new vegas and 4 are so stark and I wanna know if there's any specific lore on why exactly that is because after reading all of swann's notes and being extra nosy in the FEV lab in the Institute I can't get the idea that they were trying to "get more purple" the supermutants and it backfired out of my head
After the last episode, my spouse and I have different opinions about if The Ghoul knew about the Supermutants beforehand and knows about what's going on with Thaddeus now.
Does he know what's going on with these guys and just doesn't have time to deal with their bullshit? Or does the guy keep getting surprised by the Wasteland even after 200 years?

A “scientific” chart on my courier and the way FEV has specifically affected their body— it is called Forced Evolutionary Virus after all. Different strains of FEV or mixing the virus with other factors may cause different changes linked to base evolutionary genetics.
I would have really loved to see some cool lore on supermutants and how different individuals may have developed variance in environmentally benefitting traits, so here’s my own take on what that could look like.
