Question for everybody with a Sole Survivor OC (or multiple, if you're like me)
What was your Sole's exit strategy after getting into the Institute?
Cause like... there isn't one, officially. None of the factions have an extraction plan. They all clearly expect/intend for you to get out, but none of them really give you instructions or even suggestions on how to do it. They're like, once you're in, you're on your own, good luck. And Sole doesn't know what they're going to find on the inside, so they can't have planned for that. So it's up to Sole to figure it out themselves. So... what's the plan? Is there one?
For mine...
Nora didn't have one. She was half-expecting not to make it out, prepared for that possibility, and just wanted closure on what happened to Shaun. She fully expected to discover he'd been killed in some fucked up experiment, girl is fully spiraling and thinking worse case scenarios by the time she gets in. She was certainly going to TRY to fulfill her mission for the Railroad. But she figured her odds of making it out were slim to none, and didn't think there was much point to making a plan when she didn't know what she'd find on the inside.
Takeshi intended to be a one man army and muscle his way out by any means necessary. He was planning to try sneaking around for the info the Brotherhood wanted, but he's not much of a sneaker and figured he'd get caught. If that happened, it was going to be guns blazing full blown war tactics to figure out how to get out and to do it.
Evie was figuring on taking someone hostage. She also 100% thought her kid was dead, and she was fully on board with just getting revenge and blowing that Popsicle stand. She was planning to kill as many people as it took to send a message, maybe sabotage some shit, and then finding whatever head she needed to hold a gun to in order to get them to let her go.
Thea has decided she 100% trusts Her Community (aka The Railroad) and their allies (aka Patriot) to get her the fuck out of there. She knows her people's history, she knows how this shit works. Unlike Evie and Nora, she doesn't think Shaun is dead, but she worked a lot with young people who'd been in the system and she knows that whoever is down there, it ain't her kid. He sat in that room hanging out with the man that shot his father in cold blood. Whatever he's been raised in, she knows it'd be an uphill battle to convince him of any wrongdoing on their part. She hasn't ruled out trying, because she thinks he's 10 and an innocent that shouldn't be caught up in whatever happens to the Institute at the end of it. But she's emotionally prepared herself for him being a lost cause.
