reposting from @strikeforall on instagram to encourage you to join the boycott on target. you can pledge your support here.
if you can, continue to support the minority-owned companies that will be affected by this boycott. be intentional with your money—that is a power you hold.
The United States was added Sunday to the CIVICUS Monitor Watchlist, due to declining civil liberties.
Unsurprising, to be honest. It's disappointing, as always, but still unsurprising.
This article has a quote written by Deputy Press Secretary Anne Kelly: “This is nonsense: President Trump is leading the most transparent administration in history,”
I would like to clarify to Miss Anne Kelly that we are aware he is being transparent. No one is claiming he is hiding his actions. He broadcasts it to the world. We are aware of what is happening because he is boasting about it.
Donald Trump is not secretive about narrowing our rights as free people. He embraces the applause of his yes-men while he does it.
AMAZON BOYCOTT FEBRUARY 28TH PASS IT ON
Let's get one thing (or more) straight.
They are erasing information on Trangender people, blaming Disabled people for a plane crash, taking away DEI because they want to rule the country as the default being a White Male who is abled bodied/not disabled in anyway, who happens to be wealthy.
They dont give two SHITS about anyone else, they LIE all the TIME CAUSE THEYRE CON ARTISTS!!!
I still am SO BAFFLED that this many US citizens were so easily persuaded to vote for this guy who wants us to be back in the times that everyone but white men were oppressed. So many white women STILL voted for him despite of this. So many minorities saw "something" that benefitted them, but not the greater majority.
This white man doesn't represent the majority of US citizens. He represents the minority who is STILL trying to persuade the masses that white men are the "dominant majority" when in reality they're not.
No matter how much i feel helpless or hopeless about my future as a disabled queer person, i still want to see this guy fail so miserably that EVERYONE in the US will be begging for Kamala or someone else who wants PROGRESS who can restore and protect EVERYONE.
If you are someone who has read this far, or is a part of an oppressed group, know that you are wanted, needed, loved, and cherished just the way you are. I love you, no matter who you are. You matter immensely that they think you are a threat to their dominance. Continue living as a way to resist.
Existence is resistance.
AMERICANS!
We’re starting an economic blackout tomorrow!! (FEB 28TH) 🔥 DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Support King Arthur Baking Company
image description for the screenshot above: I borrowed this screenshot from the Libs of T i k T o k account. This screenshot is of the Baking Pitchfest page, where LoT has circled that King Arthur is specifically only allowing "Person of Color led business" to enter into the Product Competition and "Person of Color led bakery" to enter the Bakery Edition.
The Libs of T i k T o k and other white supremacist assholes have forced King Arthur Baking off of Twitter for specifically focusing on uplifting bakeries and businesses owned and led by Black, brown, Indigenous, Asian, Middle Eastern, African, Latinx, and other people of color.
Don't know about King Arthur? Well, they are an incredible 100% employee-owned company with high quality ingredients and a ton of gluten-free options.
They focus heavily on food access and justice, climate change, and underrepresented and forcibly oppressed folks. Plus, they're one of a few businesses who practices what they preach. Their DEI page really highlights a lot of work they've done, both internally and externally, to make the word a better place.
They also have a baking school with virtual options, a ton of recipes, and other tips and tricks. And, of course, their shop has many flours and baking mixes. They also sell other ingredients, kitchen tools, and bakeware.
I have a lot of love personally for King Arthur Baking because they were one of the early companies that started selling gluten-free mixes and flours in mainstream stores. I had to ditch gluten in 2012 and I thought I'd never enjoy breads or pastries again. The supply of gluten-free items was sparse in those days, y'all. Phew! Thankfully, I found them through the amazing Chef Brad, and learned SO much from the tips and tricks they shared.
It sounds like hyperbole, but they changed my life. I only hope that we can help support them so that they make it through this ridiculous LoT issue unscathed.
PS: I also borrowed the below screenshot from an upset asshole on Twitter, and I really like the way KA replied:
image description: an email reply from King Arthur Baking Company (written by Amy) to an upset asshole. The email reads:
Hi Cathy, We're sorry to hear that this doesn't sit well with you and you feel compelled to go elsewhere. Helping build joyful, equitable communities that celebrate diversity is an important part of who we are as a company. Please know that we'll be here and hope there'll come a day when you feel ready to rejoin our community. We love baking with anyone and everyone. Our simple expectation is that everyone show respect for one another. Kind Regards, Amy
A faith leader announced the end of a yearlong “Target fast,” but many Black women who helped launch the boycott say the movement wasn’t his
Been thinking about this today, and decided to just google “Target boycott”…and saw the automatic AI summary claim that the boycott ended in March 2026. Uh, no it did not! One person does not have the authority to just say that a grassroots boycott movement is all over, such a strange notion! Maybe some people went back to Target, but that boycott is still very much on for many others. Heck, boycott may be too mild a word now — many people who were boycotting have flat out moved on from Target and don’t see any real need to go back.
I know people in my life who shop at Target frequently and, quite frankly, have no idea about a boycott. But I, personally, have managed to eventually wean myself entirely to alternative stores for the key products that I used to rely on Target for (ironically, one of the last holdout products that took me awhile to figure out how to get from another store was a black-owned sunscreen…), and now that I’ve already restructured my shopping patterns I had no DESIRE to go back to Target. I’m out of the habit —- I wonder if this will end up becoming some sort of hallmark case study in future college courses about allow a company can absolutely self-own themselves.
The only exception I can think of is for a once in a blue moon emergency where I don’t know the local stores and desperately need something (like a last-minute car seat). But that doesn’t sustain a business and bring up its overall performance to healthier metrics.
Meanwhile, Costco my love — you’re not perfect, but you stood by DEI aaaaaaand you generally have pretty decent quality stuff while you’re at it! And apparently play a large role in food inspection standards being maintained well for the stuff that goes into your stores, etc, which are really good to consider as quality and safety standards worsen elsewhere.
