thinking about Life Series!Scott and Joel and how their winner symbols do stuff again (bad summary but just click the read more okay you'll get it)
Scott is the stars right? His influence is vast and enormous (spanning literally everywhere) but he is fixed. Generally speaking, stars don't move. This symbolizes Scott's fixed loyalty to one team. He finds a team and sticks to it until everyone dies, and he keeps that loyalty to them even when they do things he doesn't necessarily agree with. In doing this he's cultivated a good reputation. People want to get favors with Scott, they want to be in his good graces because 1) they know he'll pay them bakc with loyalty and maybe his life and 2) that man is scarily good at PVP and they do not wanna face that. But in some cases the enormity of his web of allies and friends makes it difficult to keep track of everything. Stuff becomes lost very easily because he's trying to keep his team together and keep all his allies friendly with his team and it oftentimes costs him a lot (mostly his life but yknow sometimes other things too)
Meanwhile Joel is a comet (yes i know he has other ones.... but this and the car i see most often and im going astral here), he's firey and passionate and fleeting. He's often lone wolfing it (someitmes literally), and his allyships almost never last the entire season (except in the season he won but SHHHHHH). In the void of space he'll never lose momentum, so all he has to worry about is crashing and burning (dont quote me on science its 2 am). He's lose, he doesn't rely on the stars for heat or navigation because he makes his own, and he doesn't know where he's going or where he's been. He can escape as long as he doesn't get pulled into orbit, he can break free from the Watchers and these games in a way none of the other celestial symbols (esp not grian poor sun everything rotates around you) can.
But... the stars are always there. Even in the deep void of space there are still stars. They explode or implode and die and remake themselves over and over again, providing material and light and its just- do you ever think Joel (in all his fear of getting caught by one, and in all his rage against their stillness) pauses to admire their beauty and power? In the same way Scott is vast and cannot focus, Joel is all focus, all pinpointed in one spot, one direction.
Do the stars notice the comet that has covered every one of its many eyes?
Does the comet notice the backdrop of stars it takes for granted?
