Focusing on my diabetes
So, at the moment, my fitness is kind of taking care of itself. Teaching my two regular fitness classes each week (LBT, that I have been doing for the past year, and a brand new spin class that I took on a couple of weeks ago). Plus quite a lot of cover classes in different sites. Added to that, I'm cycling to all of them, and doing a bit of stuff at home when I'm not working. So my main focus right now is balancing my blood glucose levels, and developing my knowledge of diabetes itself. It's about time, after having it for almost 33 years, lol. The biggest change has been my diet. Fewer carbs and more fat, specifically. And yep, it's making a big difference! Less of the ups and downs, I feel great, and I've lost a few pounds without even trying. We're all so scared of fat in our diets, but I've been saying this for years - Fat is not the enemy, sugar is! Yes, we absolutely need carbs (complex/good quality, not simple/low quality ones). They are our bodies preferred source of energy (and our brains ONLY source of energy, apparently). But as a society, we simply eat way too much.
