Ooktober Day 18: FABRICATI DIEM, PVNC
Errol.
Some really old pencil sketches of Errol the Swamp Dragon eating his glass bottles. Thought I'd dump it here.
It's been a long time since I read G!G!, but I still remember Vimes figuring out how to take care of this miserable creature. He bought him a fluffy ball, just to discover Carrot's squeaky hippo (which he later ate, together with some armour polish, mothballs and lamp oil).
First three inktober requests! 🦇 Vampire Grandma and her familiar for lotee.o and @sythesizeher Holmes&Watson as burglars for nearlyartistic and shortandnotblonde Young Sam Vimes & the swamp dragons for @usuallysublimepenguin and @hollow-head (who asked for crocodiles but hopefully these guys will be acceptable too)

it's smaugust
and here's one of my own dragons
Mourdune the red
really wanted a dragon that would function well in my own universe. She's a bit of a swamp beast. Spends most of her time half hidden in mud and dirt to protect her soft underside. I still really need to make a good ref for her.
She's more animalistic but clever. She uses bits of treasure to lure in unsuspecting adventures, snaps them up in one bite and then vanishes into the swamp. Most people that venture into her bog don't even see her, as she'll wait unmoving until someone or something is close enough.
She has wings, but she doesn't use them much. I like to think that young dragons fly far from their nests in search of new hunting grounds, but by the time they're adults they're too heavy to leave the ground much.
If an adventure was lucky enough to spot her and then challenged her to a fight, they'd be in for a rough time. She'll be sitting in boiling hot mud (she can breath fire) and her top scales are hard to cut through. They'd have an easier time if they could flip her like a pancake, but good luck.
