Apis mellifera on Ocimum basilicum / Western Honey Bee on Sweet Basil
Been offline for a while which is why I haven’t posted but!! Look!! New germination station I got set up :D I haven’t planted anything today, but I’m probably going to start germinating some seeds here tomorrow, because I stocked up for spring!
My garden balsam is really doing well, it just sprouted its second set of leaves. The purple opal and sweet basil I planted a little while ago just germinated the other day, which was really exciting! They’re so cute, and they’re doing so so well. Really proud of them, because we had a lot of flooding and I was scared they wouldn’t make it even with my effort of rushing out to the balcony to grab them as soon as I realized it was raining!
Anyways, probably going to start posting a bit more again, just needed a little bit of a full-time break from social media, as you could probably tell from my last post I’m already not too big a user of it haha!

Do you see that giant chive? It’s an absolute monster - it made it through the winter and now it’s kinda …. A mascot. It’s so big and everyone marvels at it. Sometimes a leaf with collapse under its own weight so I’ll harvest that and it serves dozens of salads. There’s a bunch of little pathetic chive seedlings at its feet, with this giant looming over them. It goes up to my hips and each leaf is much thicker around than my thumb
