Hey I've had a lot of suffering in my life especially in the last year and a half. I don't know how to get back in touch with God. I am Catholic and I've tried to be a good Catholic but I'm always so caught up in my pain and depression that counting on God is just difficult. I think part of me is scared to ask God for guidance, be disappointed, and get upset. I never want to be upset with God. I just don't know what to do...

You are in my prayers. You might benefit from looking at the mental health masterpost that I linked in this response and this other response. Both of these links come from a Catholic perspective. I recommend seeking professional help for your depression and a spiritual director to help you with your journey of faith.
God heals us. Even though things get hard, we should lean on Him. He is the one who strengthens us. Go to Confession and Mass. Receive the Eucharist. Spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Read the Bible. Pray without ceasing, especially the Psalms and the Rosary. Just talk to God. Tell Him what you have been going through and what’s on your mind. Reach out to your siblings in Christ and ask them to pray for you. An anon asked me for advice when God seems silent and this was my response. I hope that you will find this helpful.
We should not be afraid to go to God. He is so full of love and He wants to hear from us. Read these verses:
“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed: save me, and I shall be saved, for thou art my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14 DRA1899).
“You shall seek me, and shall find me: when you shall seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13 DRA1899).
“Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6 DRA1899).
“But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:37-39 DRA1899).
