Queenie, You Got Claws
A/N: Happy Valentine's Day! It's time to feed my Elvis girlies, I know I've been gone and you've been starving, my dears. I'm so very sorry.
Part 2 of the 20 song challenge given by the darling @the-ugly-swan. This song is inspired by "Boyfriend" by Dove Cameron. It's all very Sapphic, which I haven't written in forever! Vaguely inspired by one of if not the first Elvis impersonator, who was absolutely iconic with her guitar shaped pasties.
Pairings: fem Elvis x AFAB reader, AKA Elvira x AFAB reader
Warnings: 18+ MDNI. Hot and heavy kissing and petting. Mentions of period-typical attitudes because this is set somewhere in the 50s, in a female Elvis AU.

I can't believe, we're finally alone...
I can't believe - I almost went home.
What are the chances?
Grace does not demonize our desires nor destroy them nor lead us to deny them. Grace is the work of the Holy Spirit in transforming our desires so that knowing Jesus becomes sweeter than illicit sex, sweeter than money and what it can buy, sweeter than every fruitless joy. Grace is God satisfying our souls with His Son so that we're ruined for anything else!

Sweeter Than Sin – Act 1 Chapter 3 Part 4

“It smells like fast food in here.” KJ stated as he made his way in the hotel room.
Bianca glanced quickly eyed down Ken Jr. He had disheveled hair and his clothes looked like he thrown them on after picking them up off his bedroom floor. And of course, the man who complained about the smell of grease, drowned himself in a heavy cologne. Not only was Ken late, he was annoying.
“My apologies, Ken. Next time we’ll eat lunch some place else.” Bianca said as she adjusted the camera to make sure it was still recording.
“My dad said you guys wanted to interview me about the attacks.”
“Yes, we do. Can you tell us your experience with this Shio person?” Maverick asked.
“I think it started for me like two years ago, shortly after I proposed to Nat. It was little things at first. Complete lies. More of an annoyance than anything.”
“Lies like what?”
“Things just trying to pull me and Nat away from each other. Calling her derogatory names. They even said I was ruining the Sato bloodline by marrying a Tartosian. My favorite insult was when they said I was never going to take over Sato Technologies.”
“Do you want to take over Sato Technologies?” Maverick questioned.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Ken Jr. hesitate to answer the question. “Because it’s my legacy.” Maverick shook his head.
“You don’t have to run the company just because your dad does.”
“No. This has nothing to do with my dad. I just really want to do it. People don’t know what it feels like to be the man on top of a business like Sato Technologies because they haven’t been close enough to that spot. I have and I love it… You should come to the new San Myshuno building. Maybe go undercover, or whatever, and just spend some time there. You could see what I’m talking about.”
“That’s actually not a bad idea.” Maverick stated.
“Come. Jon and I will set you up with a real nice office.” Ken pulled out his phone and started smashing his finger against the phone. “Sorry, work doesn’t stop.”
“How close are you to Jonathon?” Bianca asked trying to pull him away from his device.
“Very close. That’s my brother. We basically grew up together because his mom worked for us. My family basically adopted his.”
“Do you still keep in touch with his mother?”
“I try but she really doesn’t want to be bothered. I think she’s still upset that my mom fired her.”
“Why did your mom fire her?”
“I remember tension was really high around that time. My grandmother’s health was declining … fast. My dad was so checked out during that time so Hana and my mother started to bump heads a lot more than before. I kinda think that my mom got jealous of Hana because she was taking care of the household. It didn’t make sense to me, to be honest, because she was just doing what she was hired to do. But also, I get it because there wasn’t a need for her anymore. At that point everyone could take care of themselves.”
“From what your mother has told us, there was a point in time where you needed extra care as well because of your heart condition. Has that affected you as an adult?”
“Not really. I was super young when I had surgery. I honestly don’t even remember it. I do remember having to go to my mom’s charity events when I was a kid. I was like a poster boy for it. I remember my mom dressing up my sister and I and bringing us to these charity events and us being miserable the whole time.”
“Are you close with your sister?”
“No. We had our moments but we were never the closest. And then she left for college, she just came back super weird. Even her old friends think the same thing. Her and Liz used to be the best friends and now they barely talk.”
“Are you and Liz close?”
…moments ago.

Ken pulled out his phone again without even glancing at the couple. “Super.”
“Marlene described Liz and your father’s second daughter. Do you find that to be true?”
“Absolutely. I think that’s why we were so close growing up is because he treated us all like his children. Even Danny.”
“Daniel… Johnny’s brother, right? What’s your relationship like with him now?”
Ken Jr shot a glance at Maverick. “You should know this.”
“I…I don’t.” Maverick stammered.
“I’m sure your relationship with Daniel is strained. I can only imagine how tough it is for someone you grew up with, and basically looked towards as an older brother to go to prison for such a long time.” Bianca interjected before Maverick embarrassed her even further.
Ken, who had pulled out his cell phone for the millionth time, was so absorbed in the device he didn’t even notice Bianca was talking.
“Ken, since we got a late start to this interview, we are a little pressed for time. Our goal here is not to make you uncomfortable but to figure out who is Shio. Is there anything you would like to highlight before we end your session?”
With his phone in hand, Ken responded, “Not at this moment.”
“Did you research anything before you started this investigation?” Bianca asked.
“Of course I did. Why would you even ask that?” Maverick scoffed.
Bianca rolled her eyes so hard she though thought her eyeballs were going to pop out of their sockets. Maverick was telling a blatant lie. She spent hours upon hours of researching and preparing for this just for her boyfriend to fumble each and every time.
“If you did then you would know that Daniel, Hana’s son, is in prison because of Mr. Sato.”

“Great job, kids.” Mauricio complimented. Maverick jumped to the his dad’s side.
“Do you think we got enough information from him?” Maverick wondered.
“No, but it’s still our job to put the puzzle together.” Mauricio sighed as he raised out of his seat.
“…Dad?” Maverick’s voice trailed after his father as Mauricio made his way to the door. His body soon followed.
“Wha?” Mauricio’s voice was infused with annoyance. “You guys are doing a good job together. I think you can handle the rest of the interviews without me. I’m tired.” Mauricio then escaped and made his way back to the one place that could relax his body…and it wasn’t a bed.
The sound of Marlene’s shoes echoed through the hallway, all the way down to Room 302. She took a deep inhale before slowly opening the door.
“Mrs. Sato, welcome.” Maverick greeted as the brown skinned beauty entered the room. Her eyes cut across the room towards the pair. All of Bianca’s research on Marlene mentioned one thing – she was beautiful. And it was true.
Bianca watched the way that Marlene pressed the hem of her blazer into her skirt and twirled the biggest diamond she never laid her eyes on, around her dainty finger.
“Please, have a seat,” Bianca guided as she watched the woman make her way to the chair. In a way to ease Marlene’s nervous, Bianca ceased the opportunity to schmooze Marlene.” I saw some of your modeling pictures, Mrs. Sato. Absolutely stunning.”
A small laughed escaped Marlene’s lips. “My prime.”
“Mrs. Sato, we’re well aware of the attacks on your family. Can you tell us about the latest one?” Maverick interrupted the women to get straight to business, something he quickly picked up from a certain someone.
“It was at my holiday charity event at the Blue Velvet in Willow Creek. It was a small event I had put together for the locals. There was an open bar all night with donations “encouraged” for my charity, Every Child Deserves. By the end of the night, the donations were stolen. I checked with the venue after, surprisingly they don’t have any footage of the thief.”
“Has your charity been targeted before?”
“Yes, actually. But very small attacks. Like empty donations and signing up our email with spam emails. We never had money stolen from our pockets. That was a first.”
“How long have you had this charity?”
“About 17 years or so. I founded this charity for my son, Ken Jr. When he was a toddler, he was diagnosed with a rare heart disease. He had to have open heart surgery which was rare for children because their hearts are so small. They also had to insert this a special made device into his chest to help it function. We were scared he wasn’t going to make it but of course, my son the fighter, made it through.
While Ken was going through that horrible experience, we watched as other children died in the hospital. It was truly heart wrecking. After seeing what all those children suffering in hospital beds when they should be playing outside or home with their parents, pained me. I founded this charity because I truly believe that every child deserves a chance to live and I wanted to help every child that I can.”
Bianca deeply exhaled. Was that rehearsed? “That’s lovely, Mrs. Sato. What other attacks have you encountered?”
“Well, the reason we moved from Mt. Komorebi was because one day we receive a mysterious package at our front door.
At first, my mind didn’t register what I was looking at. I thought it was a toy. But as soon as I grabbed it, I knew exactly what it was.
We later learned that it wasn’t a human heart. But it sure looked like one! I really thought… it felt so real. I remember touching it and it was still quite warm as if they delivered that heart straight to my doorstep like a pizza.
I immediately thought of my son. To me, that heart in that box was a way of taunting us about what he went through.
I felt threatened and exposed. I couldn’t even sleep in my own bed. Especially during the nights when my husband was away on business. Nearly every weekend, I was begging my sister to fly all the way out to Mt. Komorebi. Of course, she couldn’t do that. She has her own life to live. But she is the person who gave me the idea to move closer to her so we did just that.
Living in Willow Creek has been enjoyable so far. The charity, the wedding and renovating the house has been keeping me busy. Most importantly, I haven’t been looking over my shoulder as much but occasionally I still find myself becoming uneasy.”
“The wedding?” Maverick questioned.
“Yes, my son is getting married this spring.”
“Has there been any disturbances with wedding planning?”
“I think a few hiccups here and there but that would be a question for Natalia. She has decided to forgo the professionals and put together the whole thing herself.”
“Are you two close?” Maverick questioned.
There was a petit pause before Marlene answered, “I’m not sure what that has to do with anything.”
“I think what he’s trying to ask if there is anyone outside of your immediate family who knows what’s going on, like Natalia.” Bianca interjected. She could see Marlene’s chest release.
“Well, Natalia only knows because she lives with us. She has lived with us for a few years now. My sister, Sabrina, knows as well. Besides them… no. We try to keep family business within the family.”
“So no close family friends know… like the Lees?” Bianca asked.
Marlene took another moment to think before answering. “Viv knows we’re being stalked but she doesn’t know the depth of the stalking. Quite honestly, I wouldn’t know what Alan knows; we barely talk. Their daughter, Elizabeth, may be privy to what’s going on. I can imagine that being shared with her.”
“Would it bother you if she knew?”
“No. Not at all. She’s very close to our family. My husband loves her like a second daughter. Also, she is married to Jonathon, my husband’s assistant. Not to mention, Jonathon used to live with us too.”
“How long ago was that?”
“Quite some time ago. His mother was apart of our staff. She cleaned, cooked, ran errands, did childcare, and whatever else it took to take care of the household. Eventually, she just moved in along with her two sons, Jonny and Danny. At the time, it just made sense for all of us since she spent so much time at our home and all of our children were around the same age. She worked for us for about 12 years.”
“Where is she now?”
“I’m not too sure. Somewhere back in Mt. Komorebi, I assume. She was only hired to take care of the house and the kids as I continued my modeling career and Ken advanced Sato Technologies. I eventually quit modeling when Ken’s mother, Annie’s health started to diminish. Annie eventually passed away and my daughter left to college so there was no longer a need for live in help. She continued with her life and so did we.”
“Do you have any other close friends that we should be aware of? ” Maverick questioned.
“No. My sister, Sabrina, is my closest friend. That’s it. Do you think it’s a family friend that’s doing this to us?”
“Potentially. It would be easier for someone close to you to have access to your home than a complete stranger. But it’s too early to point any fingers. We’re just trying to find a lead. Is there anything else you would like to tell us?”
Marlene took another pensive thought. “No. Not at the moment.”
The couple allowed Marlene to make her way through the doors and back into the busy San Myshuno streets before huddling.
“Do you think she’s being honest?” Maverick questioned.
“Honest… I’m not sure. I don’t think an omission of truth aligns with being honest.” Bianca stated.
“What do you mean?”
“A woman with no friends, get comfortable enough with an employee that she allows this employee and her children to move in with her. This employee takes care of everyone including the husband’s sick mother. And then when the mother dies, her services are no longer needed? And they both just move on with their lives? That makes no sense! Especially since all of their kids are still super close. There’s something that happened between the two of them that is missing from the story. We’re getting the filtered truth.”
“…You’re right.” Maverick admitted.
Act 1 Chapter 2 Part 1.3
The kids didn’t stay around much longer after dinner. According to Mateo, he had to make sure his wife was showered, fed (again), and given her nightly foot massage before 9 P.M., and they were severely behind schedule. And Maverick couldn’t seem to shake his attitude and stormed out of the Olivares Residence and Bianca chased after her boyfriend.
Eliana decided to clean up the kitchen as her husband sulked around.
“Honey,” he finally said as he approached his wife. He thanked her for the well made dinner and the clean kitchen was a kiss. “What's his problem?"
“You’re rushing him.” Eliana explained. It was simple to her. “He wants to figure things out on his own.”
“And he can do that but we are going to need help. Bianca is more than capable of handling this case on her own.” Mauricio truly believed that. He seen her drive, her intelligence, her work ethic and her stamina. She was an ace.
Mauricio was bothered that Maverick never pursed police work like he did. It felt like his own son was too scared to pick up a gun and put on a badge. How could a man watch his own father and older brother enroll into the academy and not want the same for himself?
“If Maverick would stop having hissy fits, he would see that this more than his little boy problems.” Mauricio explained. Mauricio whipped out his phone.
“What are you doing, my love?” Eliana questioned.
“I’m telling that asshole to knock it out and get it together.” Furiously, Mauricio punched away at the screen on his phone. Eliana was sure that if he tapped it any harder he would crack the screen.
“How about you put your phone on the charger and get ready for dessert.” Eliana smirked. Mauricio pushed his phone back into his pocket and ran upstairs to the bedroom. Eliana knew the best way to calm a man down was to give him a sweet treat after his meal and tonight Eliana had the sweetest pie.
Act 1 Chapter 2 Part 2.1
Magnolia Promenade – Sunday, January 7th, 2024
Miles away, the Satos also enjoyed their first family dinner. Of course, Mr. Sato was nowhere to be seen, a common occurrence in this family. Instead, two other people joined their meal.
After a troubling conversation with her husband, Ken, Marlene looked forward to spending this night with her family. She wasn’t ready to start this ‘intensive investigation’ into her family’s past but she understood it was necessary step to uncover who was stalking them. But before that fiasco, Marlene forged a smile and raised her glass.
“Tonight let’s celebrate my handsome nephew, Kion, and his return to Willow Creek. I understand that a redirection in life may be unsettling but Kion returns a new man with a new girlfriend and child. I think the growth of his family and subsequently, the growth of our own, is quite beautiful! Welcome home!” Marlene toasted.
“I can drink to that!” Kion said with glee while the family took a polite sip of the aged red wine.
“Where is that girlfriend of yours?” Ken Jr asked. Out of everyone here, KJ was the most excited to have his favorite (and only) cousin back.
“She’ll be here any moment. She got caught up at work.” Kion answered and chased his answer with another sip of wine. Marlene couldn’t help but to catch her sister’s eye. She heard a few things about the new girlfriend.
“You guys are gonna love her! Right mom?” Kion asked.
“Right,” Sabrina answered and then quickly washed her lie down with another sip of wine.
“I’m sure we will. Everyone was so accepting when I starting bringing Natalia around. No worries, champ.” KJ said in an attempt to comfort his cousin. Although that was true, Marlene shared a similar uneasiness about Natalia that Sabrina had for Kion’s new girlfriend.
To Marlene, Natalia was nothing special. Sure, she was cute but that was it. She wasn’t witty, charming, or intelligent. She was just …bland. Eventually, Marlene learned to accept that her son had settled for a dough faced girl who was nothing special. Just a girl.
At the far side of the table sat Evelyn Sato. She was still taking in the presence of everyone gathered together. She had spent years away from her family so the reintroduction of “family dinners” was tough. In the last few weeks of being home, Evelyn had mastered adding meaningless commentary to every conversation to mask her disinterest in whatever her family blabbed about. Weddings, grandchildren, business ideas, vacations… None of it interested her.
She twirled her nearly full glass of wine. Just one glass tonight should be alright, right?
“Ev,” it was Aunt Sabrina who broke Evelyn out of her thoughts. “What’s it like working with your dad?”
Evelyn released a deep exhale which only made Sabrina laugh. Sabrina was well aware that her brother-in-law was an uptight asshole in and out of the office, but she didn’t think it would only take a few days for the daddy-daughter duo to bump heads.
“If you’re looking for work, you’re always welcome at Fox and Associates.” Sabrina offered.
Being a lawyer was Evelyn’s long lost dream. She always imagined herself in court fighting for innocent people like Aunty Brina did. It wasn’t until Evelyn got to college that she got a taste of being an actual criminal defense lawyer. She definitely couldn’t imagine herself doing this for the rest of her life. But for a couple hours a day, just to get away from her father, she would definitely reconsider.
“Evelyn wouldn’t hate it that much if she actually cared.” Ken interjected.
For the next few ten minutes, the siblings argued over how boring the makeup of a computer chip actually could be.
“Baby!” The voice silenced the siblings as a woman walked up to the table and kissed Kion’s cheek.
“Hi everyone, I’m Cheyenne,” the woman introduced herself as she sat down at the table.
The family warmly greeted her back. Well, mostly everyone.
Kion introduced everyone at the table to Cheyenne. Immediately, Cheyenne took a liking to the other outsider, Natalia.
“How did you two meet?” Cheyenne asked.
“Oh, the typical way. Social Bunny. He ‘accidentally’ sent me a friend request and then ‘accidentally’ liked all my pictures and posts. Then he sent me a message saying he thought he knew me and we just started talking all the time. How about you guys?” KJ snickered as Natalia retold the story.
“At a club.”
“He saw me first”
“but I approached him first”
“we danced together”
“and the rest is history”
