hes had the same name for almost 7 yearsss. obviously he has honey like whiskers, and other honey elements to him. he was technically named after a cat in universe with the prefix honey-, so its only appropriate. his tail has a flowy, honey end. he has to groom it often since a lot sticks to it. his name actually puts him at a bit of a disadvantage since it hurts his ability to use his whiskers efficiently, but hes a pretty optimistic dude and doesnt care much.
