I Can Do it WIth A Broken Heart reminds me of two things
The first one being when I was a miserable little ghostwriter on Upwork dot com, for a grueling eight or ten months or something like that I wrote thousands of words a week with almost no break but I was doing what I loved.
Meanwhile healing from some of the hardest traumas of my life.
"I was grinning like I was winning, I was hitting my marks... 'cause I can do it with a broken heart!"
I don't miss being a ghostwriter at all, though it was cool to get paid for doing my first and one of my most intimate loves. Writing.
The other thing it reminds me of is, well, Jeremy /sys. He loves this song. Only Taylor Swift song he'd named other than All Too Well (he's clearly not the swiftie in the system lol). He's always so productive and energized and I really do look up to him, but damn he will do it on broken bones, broken pride, broken hearts are the last of his concern. He's been doin' it with a broken heart for years.
"Lights, camera, bitch smile, even when you wanna die."
"All the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was shouting 'MORE!'"
I just can't listen to this one without getting emotional despite being, well, me
