Impressed by the new series) This gorgeous woman has won my heart!
Vanguard DivineZ episode 13 Finale
When I saw in the card reveals that Gab is a Keter Sanctuary unit I knew that Akina was going to use him.
What was new skill? Did I miss it? It didn’t seem clear what changed. Also how does a card gain a new skill?! I don’t really like the idea of that. It sounds way too abusable by the plot.
I’m glad that Gab got to deliver the final blow.
Oh look Sybilt has a tragic backstory. Don’t care.
So this is what he really looks like. I’m shocked that Sybilt didn’t play himself. Considering he seems to be a Dragon Empire unit I guess that’s part of the reason he possessed Nao. Kinda lame ngl. Especially since he never summoned himself.
This is a nice shot. The whole idea of him facing Nao feels rather wasted. Like their whole heartfelt talk doesn’t hit as hard because Nao was just a meat puppet with no agency the whole time.
I’m glad things are going well for these two.
Ooh! “HEEEEY guys!” spotted! Also I guess Akina’s father is going to be important now. He kinda looks like Ginki and Yu-Yu’s father. If he is the latter I’m gonna lose it🤣.
Best girl here to stay! Yes! Good for you card game Homura! I didn’t think it would be through fusing with Gab but it’s cool.
Oh he’s finally back. It looks like the next season is going to be the Deluxe. I really hope the DivineZ cast gets to do more. What they could do was pretty limited by how the Clashes were formatted. Ideally I want it to be a team competition so that less cast members are left behind than Willdress. I’m also curious about what other Overdress characters we’ll see. I think Raika definitely but I’m not sure about Yu-yu since it seems a bit too early.
I’m interested in seeing Akina pursue his own dream for himself. I really want them to do more with him. Everything so far has felt REALLY safe which is how DivineZ as a whole has felt to me. I think that’s why they went the full possession route with Nao rather than having her fall to darkness. That and the predictability of fight outcomes are my biggest criticisms so far along with feeling like the cast hasn’t gotten to really do much. Opening up the floodgates for cards to just change skills scares me. I hope they don’t do that going forward. I’m curious about how they will use the Fated and Destined Ones going forward considering they are like four of a kind cards that seem to belong exclusively to the Clashes. I think the best solution is giving all of them normal card retrains. I’m not sure what they would do with the Divine Skill mechanic since those were tied to the Clashes. Using them in normal cardfights feels like cheating so I hope they find a clever way to avoid this.
The watch was enjoyable but was way too safe. For that reason I can’t rate it too highly despite the enjoyment I had.
DivineZ S2: 7/10
DivineZ Season 2 Episode 4 reaction AKA The Plot Thickens
Gui is back
I know this is supposed to be ominous but it looks so funny with Sylbilt appearing as a plush. It just looks like a little kid forgot their plush.
If Aichi and Emi in a nutshell. This could fit a lot of other siblings pairs as an incorrect quote. I’m still thinking that her wish is something like “I wish Akina thought for himself” or something. Something that would make it so that she wouldn’t feel like she’s burdening him.
Oh no…I was memeing about the evil plushie being the Void.
This sounds like how someone would describe Aichi. Based on everything we know about him he sounds Aichi-like.
Typical Vanguard dialogue
So, the evil plushie messes with souls…It IS the Void. Also dude why do you still have your brain hooked up to that AI after what happened at the end of Will Dress?! Like it came in clutch here but seriously. I would not give an AI access to my body.
So, Jinki is a secret agent. I hadn’t seen that part coming. The idea of him gathering information to stop the evil plushie is interesting. The result of the fight is just as a predicted though. So currently this is the second fight’s result I predicted.
Now, this possession 👀…Ooh…that’s interesting. I feel like the obvious assumption is that it was Suo, but I think that’s a red herring. Evil plushie possessed Akina. I remember a line from season 1 where Masanori mentioned the danger of Akina’s red eyes and we got zoom in. I believe that’s going to come into play this season with that bit of dialogue being foreshadowing.
Think about it. Nothing happened in the original timeline even after the Fated Clash reached a conclusion. I think that’s because Sybilt didn’t get to lay its trap when Akina and co got nuked. However, because Akina lived the trap was able to be set. He’s the one who brought all of the energy together. As for why the evil plushie didn’t possess someone else I’m not sure🤔. There’s not enough details to go on rn.
