squeezing one last drawing in here: a lovely afternoon with some friends for @nytherro ‘s birthday a few weeks ago :3 Nirn and Syvis are talking botany over a cup of stress relief tea blend she grew herself, while Jax gives Nirn a hairstyle to fit with the other elves in the village. & during this, Rangi has abducted Izzo and Panathir to play “wom.” Panathir, of course, is not one to share, especially not with Izzo.

Playing DREDGE made me think about horror, ambiance and how media builds these.

The game itself leans into the fear of the see and cosmic horror.

Being a small ship on the sea, endless expanse below you, around you and even above you.

A moving shape bellow. It all leans back into intrinsic human fears and builds a tense atmosphere without any graphic depictions. In general horror seams to lean into well known fears, extrapolating on them and turning them from single aspects of resistance into the bedrock of a horror medium. We all might feel a bit uneasy thinking about the vast space bellow the surface of a sea.

happy holidays, friends! my gift to you: the Jax&Co trio as Snow Miser, Heat Miser, & Mother Nature from The Year Without A Santa Claus. I’m not a big Xmas guy, but this was always the jam in my house. like year-round miser brothers references. it’s the best Xmas movie. argue with your mama.

my baby is so Ralsei kin it’s nauseating. I was weeping over him three or four separate times during the last two chapters like “that’s my Jax :(((“

honestly Panathir really couldn’t care less about this game, but he agreed to cosplay bc he wanted to try making Rouxls’s jacket (& he amused him; got one or two good smileless sharp nose exhales). man’s good with a sewing machine & is serving absolute looks. & Jax predictably looks so fucking cute. good job making the accessories, baby :3
