That day half of the universe came back to life, but at the same time a little part of everyone died with Tony Stark.

Not to hit you right in the feels, but Peter only wore suits made by himself or Tony, right? And after Tony is gone Peter probably clings to the suits made by Tony and tries to fix them when they get damaged, because this is something Tony made for him (Tony probably also made like 20 different suits). Peter does not want to give them up even when the time comes that they are damaged beyond repair. Maybe at first he doesn’t even want to wear them because he’s afraid they will get damaged and then they would be gone (another part from Tony would be gone), but he knows Tony would want him to wear them, would want him to be safe. And Peter probably feels really safe in the suits made by Tony, because even though Tony is gone he is still protecting Peter. I could also imagine him not accepting help from others (say Shuri), because no one could make (such meaningful) suits like Tony did and perhaps because he has to do this on his own, or more likely, he wants to do this on his own, because it reminds him of Tony and perhaps the times they worked together on his suits.
