Seeking Blessings from the Wudū-Water, Sweat, Hair, Blood and Traces of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Sharī'ah Prohibition on Seeking Blessings from the Traces and Leftovers of the Scholars and Pious Ones. (Shaikh Ibn Bāz)

Question: I have seen in some books that are widespread in Somalia that the Sahābah (radiyallāhu ‘anhum) would gather around the wudū water of our Prophet Muhammad (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) to seek blessings (tabarruk) with it. And if he coughed up phlegm or spat saliva, they would wipe themselves with it (masah)―and they would gather around the barber who would shave the head of the…

Al-Imām Ibn Bāz (rahimahullāh) stated:
“It is not permitted to seek blessings (tabarruk) from anyone after the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam), not from their wudū water, their hair, their sweat or anything else from their body. All of this was specific for the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) due to what Allah placed in his body of goodness and blessings, and whatever he touched. For this reason, the Sahābah (radiyallāhu ‘anhum) did not seek tabarruk from anyone amongst themselves ―not during the lifetime of the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) nor after his death. No one sought tabarruk (blessings) from the Rightly Guided Caliphs, nor from others. This proves that they knew that this affair was specific to the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) and no one else ―and because they knew that it was a pathway to shirk and to the worship of other than Allah.”

Der Shaykh, der Qādī, Sulaymān ibn abd Il-Wahhāb [rahimahullāh gest. 1210 n.H.] schreibt an seinen Bruder folgendes:
وأما التبرك والتمسح بالقبور وأخذالتراب منها، والطواف بها، فقد ذكره أهل العلم فبعضهم عده في المكروهات، وبعضهم عده في المحرمات، ولَم ينطق واحد منهم بأن فاعل ذلك مرتد كما قلتم أنتم، بل تكفرون من لم يكفر فاعل ذلك، فالمسألة مذكورة في [كتاب الجنائز] في الدفن وزيارة الميت

Šaykh Badr ud-Dīn al-Aynī al-Hanafī [rahimahullāh 762-855 n.H.] schreibt in seinem Kommentar zu Sahīh al-Bukhārī folgendes:

Q : Whats your opinion regarding the people who dont believe the existence of the hair of rasulullah saw and its berkat?
A : Its fine, its their choice to choose not to believe and we choose to believe. We can check it in istanbul etc.
For information, our nabi saw was actually did asked abu talha ra at the moment he do tahallul in that year and asked abu talha to distribute the hair of him to others.
Khalid ibn walid ra said, ‘when the people were scrambled to snatch the hair of rasul, i was the earliest one who get to take the hair from his(nabi saw) head and i put it on my turban/serban.’ I guess all of us here know this story.
Khalid ibn walid ra said, once he lost his turban, he turned the battalion upside down and commanded them to search for it. He and the others were searching until he find it. And others were in a state of curious, why he tried so hard to search for this ugly and old turban?
Khalid al walid ra said, ‘Its not about the turban, but its about the hair of rasul that i put it on top of my turban. Every time i was in battlefield(while wearing this turban with the hair of nabi saw), i was never been defeated.’ - tabarruk that contribute to berkat.
In one hadith rasulullah saw said, in every battlefield/war, they will be asked about if there were a group of sahabat nabi(with them in the battlefield)? if yes, then they will win the war. even if only a sahabat involve.
Now, thats sahabat, let alone the hair that is from the head of the honorable man, the habiballah - rasulullah saw. The head that sujud, rukuk, crying to Allah, pray etc..
everything that coming from his body is noble and precious.
The hair of rasul is a lot. not only several hair, no. if people dont like to believe, its fine, its their choice. to believe it, not to lead to shirk etc.
theres no problem to do tabarruk. its permissible. its not the hair that give us the victory, but the berkat of the noble and precious hair of the noble and precious man, rasulullah saw, that can make us gain any victory(biiznillah).
