Week 84, Day 583.
Last week consisted of a fair amount of data analysis, a visit to Derby for a meeting with Severn Trent, frantically tidying/sorting the house, trying hard to be more chill/positive, and a wonderful weekend with my bestie @steffnow. 🌟
Although data analysis is super tedious in that it involves many hours of organisation, thought, and problem solving where the solution usually changes about a million times, it can also be extremely rewarding. I’ve had some pretty neat results this week, which although aren’t the be-all end-all, but factor in as support for the design of my project. So that was nice. 📊📈
As for my visit to Severn Trent, although the conversation was really interesting, I felt a bit annoyed; they now want to be involved in the project somehow, yet I tried to incorporate the company back at the start of 2018 and was declined. But anyway, better late than never. On top of being slightly miffed, I also felt really unwell that day and almost fainted in the meeting. The guy chairing made comments like ‘look she’s wasting away’ and ‘she looks eager to leave’, which were highly inappropriate and made me feel even worse when I was just trying my best to keep it together. However, I did call him out on it. It was totally uncool. I was exhausted and very much in pain thanks to a bout of cramps from my endo. 🙃 Eurgh. Needless to say, I still aced the presentation, and as soon as I got home collapsed in bed and had a well deserved nap.
My endo was playing up in part because I was on my period, which gave me the opportunity to try out the Mooncup I mentioned last week. Despite how weird it was to use it for the first time, it was actually really comfortable and is definitely a sanitary product I will continue to use instead of the regular towels and tampons. Not only is it cost effective to do so, but is much more sustainable for the planet as regular sanitary products contain single use plastic. 🌊🌍
One thing that shocked me this week was the initial progress of my backwards hanger challenge; in one week I had only turned around 1 hanger! ONE. Admittedly, I do have two drawers on top of the items in my closet, which hold some of my non-creasing t-shirts and also my bottoms, but still. I’m really looking forward to see the progress of this challenge across the next few months. 👗
The weekend was one of the most relaxing ones I’ve had in a while; we went to a cat cafe and spent the rest of the weekend at home catching up, re-potting plants, drinking wine, ordering in, and binging on Netflix films. Totally what we both needed. 🍷❤
The week ahead is fairly busy as I have to try and draft a full literature review for my trip away, help my other half start sorting his stuff out for the move, and also go to a hen do this weekend, the location/details of which I cannot disclose as the bride to be checks in on my blog time to time (Hi F!) 😜 All I know is that I’m gonna be living up that red bull life.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
