If you condone the actions of any of these anti-black motherfuckers over at Glitch Productions, block me right now. I do not care to argue; just block me.

These goes for the individuals who support the people behind the works at Glitch Prod. If for example you still enjoy TADC, but you don't condone Gooseworx's actions, you're completely fine by me. If you're using this situation to be transphobic towards Gooseworx (misgendering, derogatory terms, etc.) ALSO block me. This situation is not an excuse for you to be an anti-trans bigot. Fuck you.

Now I don't give a damn how many years ago it all was. I don't care if it was a "joke". This anti-black shit goes DEEP. Earlier I ended up breaking down to my mom because of how EXHAUSTING having to deal with anti-black racism is. It IS that deep. I don't play about that. If you still support and/or condone their actions, I believe that it reflects on you and who you sre as well, and you automatically disgust me. If you see this, and this is you, block me before I have to. I don't CARE if you think I'm sensitive.

As a black person, I don't just have to deal with anti-black racism in internet [fandom] spaces. I have to deal with that shit IN REAL LIFE. Black people experience this EVERYWHERE. We're CONSTANTLY at the butt of these "jokes". We get KILLED because of anti-black racism, and when we call y'all out, y'all tell us to shut up. Y'all disregard us, like y'all always have for centuries. Y'all continue to make jokes at our expenses. This situation is more than just "petty internet fandom drama" or "huge fandom disagreements" to me. This is an instance of heavy anti-blackness taking place once again in predominantly white fandom spaces.

I have yet to see Gooseworx take genuine, FULL accountability. Michael Kovach, from what I've seen so far, gave a half-assed statement. Glitch themselves have just been brushing shit under the rug, and they continue to hire and greenlight these anti-black racist motherfuckers. I'm done. I seriously am.

And these people have been and will CONTINUE to get away with it with zero accountability because of people like Y'ALL who believe "it's not that deep", or "oh, it's just the toxic fandom". They'll continue to get away with it because Y'ALL coddle they asses like their age isn't double digits and start with "3". This shit wouldn't have blown up as bad as it did if these GROWN ASS MOTHERFUCKERS have 100% owned up to everything, and if YOU GUYS didn't coddle them like children. This could've been avoided. You guys are over here saying that we're overwhelming [Gooseworx] but have y'all ever thought about the black children who might've been into [TADC] and then having to deal with anti-blackness, and having to find out that the people behind the media is racist as hell? Imagine how THEY feel. One of them is me. I'M the black child, and I'm angry and disappointed as hell.

god if only sunnyland productions had a tumblr too so i could reblog a post about his video regarding problematic creators and how dead end paranormal park tackles it and stuff cause i watched it just now and it brings up some valid points

tadc situation is pretty messed up tho , obviously what those ppl behind the scenes including the creator themselves did and said was not okay at all, it definitely leaves a poor taste in my mouth considering I was gonna come up with a project where one of my characters would be singing the ep 8 song

hopefully ppl will understand that if I go through with that they won’t think im endorsing anything problematic and enjoy the song and the show’s themes without that sort of attachment to it as I’d hate to be accused of being racist but at the same time I’d hate to ignore how Black ppl feel about it bc what they feel is completely valid

Update: i feel like i don’t have any right whether to say we should separate art from artist in this situation (you guys can be the judge of that) but one thing’s for certain, i’m gonna do my best to engage with tadc related stuff less and less and like i said before if that musical animatic thing featuring the 2 tadc songs i have in it planned actually does come out im putting a huge disclaimer at the beginning . otherwise im most likely gonna shelve it . it was a pretty ambitious project featuring my ocs that I put a lot of pressure on myself to make anyway and it would relieve some of the burdens . but if you have any concerns with what I’m saying in this post or want to offer critique or advice please let me know and do it in replies/reblogs and do so respectfully thank you

About the TADC: The Final Act Theater Release

I’ve thought about the Glitch situation. I’ve read the CEO’s response to criticism. I’ve looked at past projects, both indie and not, in theaters that have unusual release dates. And I have decided I am not going to watch TADC:The Final Act in theaters even if I have the opportunity. I refuse. I’ll sit in spoiler hell for two weeks.

I was in the middle of planning to requisition my theater for showings and double check with Glitch that they had contacted my theater chain when I thought, why? So they can keep doing this? So they can put a finale of one of their other shows in theaters first? Make people have to go offline for two weeks to avoid spoilers? No. Absolutely not. I’m not aiding in this endeavor. I do not care that TADC is indie animation. Because I don’t want indie animation to do the same kind of cruel, anti-fan decisions that corporate animation companies do.

I’m sorry, but I don’t support indie projects because they’re indie. I support them because they are good content. I support good customer-first choices as I am a costumer. Many companies start as indie and end up corporate. This decision feels to me like a corporate decision, not a fan-centric one.

This decision to have a theatrical release by Glitch is, in my eyes, wrong and disrespectful to many fans. I get that they have next to no pull with theaters. I get that they want to further indie animation. But to do it at the cost of their fans? To push for a theatrical showing where they have to screw over hundreds if not more global fans to get their “we did it” moment?

I am not going to support this idea whatever pretty tales the CEO spins about “getting the month down to two weeks.” The CEO should have said “okay, this isn’t going to work” when the theaters wouldn't allow a simultaneous release and scratched the idea entirely. That would have been the right thing to do for the fans.

I won’t go watch Toy Story 5, and now I won’t go watch TADC:The Final Act. Every decision that makes a good story lesser, I will not support. I’m here for good content, not arbitrary labels like “indie” and “corporate.” Something being indie doesn’t make it good, and something being corporate doesn’t make it bad (though the latter is bad more often). Disrespecting fans for your own agenda is never good regardless.

I want POC fans to have a place and feel comfortable in this fandom, and I do want Goose, Michael, and Ashley to have accountability because what they said was wrong. I want Indie animation that SAYS something and doesn't get cowed by controversy.

At the same time, I don't think it's too much or putting comfort over people's lives to ask for the fandom to stop tearing eachother, the show, and the cast apart for 5 MINUTES. Between the ship wars, people complaining because the story's not going how they thought, and all the controversies and complaining... Sometimes, It really feels like this is turning into the next Hazbin Hotel here. I don't want black fans chased out of the fandom for ruining the fun and I don't want TADC fans kn general harrassed for being fans of the show. Just like I didn't want Ragatha fans OR Goose harrassed for the main character debacle. And I definitely don'r want the cast being sent death threats and gore over this, even those who weren't involved! THAT'S not accountability, that's just PUNISHMENT. And trying to tank the release is only going to harm Indie animation at large in the long run, including the black creators you want to uplift! Just as being racist in the name of "You're ruining the fun" is going to hurt black fans and the fandom at large!

What part of "No one is perfect and that doesn't mean they deserve cruelty" and "Be nice to eachother" can this fandom NOT seem to get? Can we just treat eachother like human beings and adults, please!? Is that really too much to ask!?!? We're supposee to be BETTER than this!!!!

I'm thinking about the idea they left the vod up to hold themselves accountable and I think the main reason it doesn't sit right with me is (correct me if I'm wrong) they left it up as is. They did not put a disclaimer on it acknowledging this behavior was wrong. If they were actually being accountable would they not use this as an opportunity to educate? Not only to apologize but to also facilitate a discussion about antiblackness and how to unlearn it?

I mean how embarrassing is it that the disney corporation has been known to do more to acknowledge their racism. Fucking DISNEY. The bar is that low and they still couldn't get over it.

(And also pls consider the fact I’m not online much, haven’t seen the clips or whatever, and mostly lik piece of mind (which u don’t have a say in how I feel even if ur black) but also lik knowing the truth abt shit cux that’s important)

I find it not surprising but yet still disappointing cuz I don’t wanna hate these ppl and I don’t wanna feel a certain way abt these ppl but now I have to yk, I can’t just feel bad today and than forget abt it tmwr. And if u understand what it feels lik to live in the western world as a non-white person, u should be understanding of how hurt sum1 lik me can be abt this kind of situation.

I lov that they apologized and took accountability for their actions (which I haven’t even seen the apology,, still processing the whole situation, remember that isn’t up to u to determine how long it’ll take for sum1 to process sumthing lik how we all processed ep 7 when it came out yk what I mean?),, this also isn’t about when the situation happened (brother… 7 years ago was 2019… weeks are not talking abt adults n woulda shoulda couldas 7 years ago thank you.🙏🏾) this abt taking accountability and intent on Ashley n Micheal’s (n whoever else in hunnicast that was there in that stream entertaining that joke) side.

Again happy they apologized, happy to know that but that doesn’t change what happened and how I personally as a black person and gonna be lik processing it, for the time being I gotta commission I’ve gotta have done before early may and in that time I’ll be thinking abt finishing sum (maybe not necessarily all) of those TADC sktch “☆ wips ☆”, the beach episode drawing is still in the almost done stage (cuz of prioritizing other drawings/tadc drawings, and most certainly more wholesome/chill furry art and possible future nana art if that interests u

I just wanna clarify, I’m not saying I’m not a TADC fan anymore or that I don’t like Ashley Nichols or Michael Kovach anymore this is just a post to voice how I feel abt the situation, and that rightfully,, I am disappointed in my favourite voice actors in indie animation rn. I hope to seeing them keep do better but for now I just respectfully would lik to have my distance

I just don't understand TADC's fandom's reaction to this from the perspective of like... not realizing that goose is the one who made this situation dangerous? By making more slur jokes and then telling racists to kill themselves? Like, this isn't black people making a big deal about something. Goose holds all the power and has actively made the situation reach a boiling point by dismissing the concerns of black people and then suicide baiting the types of people she was defending. Like at a certain point you have to realize Goose's unprofessional-ness has made the situation dangerous for the movie theaters hosting the premieres... at least that's what it looks like from my perspective. (since both VAs seemingly actually apologized? but i might be wrong. And also, obviously that doesn't undo their wrongdoing, but acknowledging its wrong is better than making more slur jokes) Then again I don't understand anything about TADC's fandom because gooseworx is a (white) newgrounds animator. transfem or not being from newgrounds means you have said at least one slur you shouldnt have said at one point in your lifetime. like, i dont think there is such a thing as a creator that can come out of there without any skeletons in their closet. And she still has the sense of humor of someone from newgrounds so idk why people ever expected anything else from her but that's just me (not that that excuses her indirectly defending it in the present day, or joking about the slur in the past, or anything else - it just seems like this has come as such a shock to the fandom, and i do not understand why LOL like if i was watching it id just embrace it idk why we have to act like its so scary to criticize this kind of behavior. person who makes something i like has done things i dont agree with, in other news the sky is blue, like-)

Yeah accurate. I think a lot of the shock is that I think most people weren't familiar with her until tadc. I didn't know anything about her personally, I learned that she was transfem somewhat recently and I was like oh that's cool hope she's thriving. There is something to be said that hearing someone is marginalized and expecting that this translates to them being a good person is ignorance but to be honest I didn't even know she was white in specific I just knew she was a show runner in charge of tadc.

It once again just goes to show that white queer people are white before they're queer though and I feel like there is an important discussion about racism in the transfem community and how many of these women were raised in neonazi groups and come out of that still clinging to the racism in hopes it will make them more palatable. But I am not a trans woman so I can't really facilitate that conversation

But anyway yeah to my knowledge the VAs have given some form of apology (there seems to be mixed opinions on the apologies, I don't have any opinions about it because they're not my apologies to accept) whereas Gooseworks has not and is more or less encouraging racist behaviors from fans but dismissing everything.

it's so frustrating to me because if she had actually handled this professionally or even just compassionately and actually held herself accountable it would not be nearly as big of an issue. she's making it harder for herself because she wants to be racist and there's not really any other explanation than that like this is an active choice she is making and she knows she'll get away with it because she's white and made cool art and that's enough to be needlessly supported in situations like this.
