I wrote a second prompt because they’re fun!! @gumnut-logic this is two from me and the prompt was determination
Gordon was determined to share his love of rock pooling with someone. Scott was too busy stressing constantly about the Zero-XL to find time for hobbies minus his music therapy, Kayo didn’t trust him when in the water not to splash her, Alan was busy with his final studies for school and John was in space, so that only left Virgil and he would force him down to the pools by any means necessary, which in the end was just an invitation one sunny afternoon.
“Gordon, slow down, these rocks are slippery.”
“I told you to wear water shoes, not flip flops.”
“They’re waterproof, what’s the difference?” Virgil shrugged as he caught up with his co-pilot, “you’re lucky I said yes to this, I’ve been writing a composition for dad.”
“None of you appreciate our rock pools. Come on, you’re going to love what I’ve found, this way,” he led the way around the back caves and darted across a tiny stretch of sand between the rocks and waves, “time yourself.”
Virgil ran across the wet sand before the sea closed off the path, “okay, where is this pool?”
Gordon grinned as he knelt beside a pool then stripped down to his swimming trunks, “awesome.”
“Gordon, what are you doing?”
“You can’t see it unless you join me. Are you wearing your trunks?”
“These shorts are trunks, so yeah.”
“Good, get in,” Gordon dived down into the water.
“Gordon!” Virgil unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it onto the rocks before jumping in, the water was crystal clear and he almost collided with the aquanaut who was swimming back up, he emerged coughing and hit him over the head, “what did you dive down for!?”
“To see the oyster.”
“The what?” Virgil trod water being careful not to put his feet down on any urchins.
“First of all, control your breathing or you won’t be able to stay down there long enough. You’ll love this, I promise.”
“If I’d known we were diving I would’ve brought a tank.”
Gordon raised an eyebrow, “remember dad’s training? Concentrate and we can be down there for a minute.”
“FAB.”
“Okay, ready?”
Virgil nodded, “just don’t scare me again.”
“FAB. Let’s go,” he took a deep breath and dived down followed by Virgil, the second eldest wasn’t much of a water baby but Jeff had made sure that all of his sons and Kayo knew how to hold their breath for long periods of time under water for emergencies and extreme scenarios. They swam down to the bottom of the pool together and Gordon pointed to the oyster shell which was open displaying a bright pearl, Virgil’s eyes widened in awe and Gordon smiled before looking back at the pearl, they signalled each other to go up and they sat up on the edge breathing deeply and dripping.
“Wow Gordon.”
“What did I tell ya? Beautiful isn't it.”
“I never even knew those were real.”
“Oysters or the pearls?”
“The pearls, we could sell it.”
“Don't lay a finger on it. I wait for the animals to die naturally then collect the jewel or find one that hasn’t opened yet, that one is very much alive and very young, let it enjoy its creation. It would be like ripping a gold tooth from someone’s mouth,” Gordon replied sternly.
Virgil looked down with guilt, “yes, I suppose so. Sorry.”
“You’re impressed though?”
“More than impressed, it’s amazing down there.”
“Okay, I wasn’t sure about this at first, but would you like to meet my little friend?”
“It better not be a crab.”
“No, it’s better. Come on,” he dived down again and a small eel swam up to meet him much to Virgil’s horror, Gordon gestured that it wasn't a threat or electric then smiled as it looped over his hand, if Virgil could breath out in relief he would have done, but instead he patted Gordon’s shoulder and let the eel swim across his arm, they swam up to the surface again and Virgil flopped his black hair back out of his face.
“An eel, Gordon?”
“Yeah.”
“What have you called it?”
“His name is Matty.”
“Matty?”
“Short for Matthieu.”
Virgil laughed, “you’re mad, you know that right? Mad.”
“Madness is great,” Gordon elbowed him, “want to go down again or are you good?”
“I’m good, but thank you Gordo, I’m so land based I forget how amazing our island is sometimes. Is this pool always here?”
“Only when the tide is out, when it’s in this is covered, but Matty never forgets where he lives.”
“Thanks.”
“Anytime, I really wanted someone else to enjoy these with me, Lady Penelope would but she’s on the other side of the world.”
“Is that who the pearl is for?”
Gordon smiled, “I’ve already got one ready for her.”
“Not an engagement ring I hope? The one thing Dad doesn't need to come back home to is you saying you’re planning to get married.”
Gordon chuckled, “no, not yet anyway. I’m going to box it with a card for her birthday, it’s December soon, although you wouldn’t know that being here.”
“That's sweet. You don’t have any spare pearls do you?”
“Why do you ask?” Gordon stood up and pulled his shirt on around his shoulders.
“Well, it’s just, I would love to give one to Kayo.”
Gordon smiled, “word of advice, if you find a big oyster you’re more likely to find a pearl inside, but it’s all luck. If you go down there now, don’t assume you’ll get a jewel.”
“Okay. Wait for me, for safety.”
“FAB. Have fun,” Gordon watched his brother dive under and began to time him, he hopped up onto the rock and decided to squeeze in some sunbathing in the late afternoon sunshine.
Virgil reached the bottom of the pool and let out a little air to keep himself down and gathered a bundle of oysters which weren’t open, maybe Gordon would kill him maybe not, but now he was the one determined to discover a perfect gift, he emerged out of breath and pushed the collection onto the side of the pool before heaving himself out of the water, “think that’ll be enough?”
Gordon opened his eyes then frowned, “you have a dark side, Virgil Tracy, I didn't think that was possible. I won’t be helping you open those.”
“Fine,” he pulled his shirt on ignoring the wet marks immediately appearing across his back and chest then slipped his flip flops back on, “maybe I’ll give one to Scott too, they might cheer him up.”
Gordon laughed as they walked back to the house, “oh, you’re planning on finding more than one pearl now?”
“You never know?”
“Good luck then.”
Scott was waiting for them in the lounge and frowned as they walked in dripping and feet squelching on the floor, “where have you been?”
“Scott, you need to chill out. Seriously, you’re going to have a meltdown if you’re not careful,” Gordon smirked, “I finally convinced one of you to go to the rock pools with me and it worked.”
“Virgil?” Scott raised an eyebrow.
Virgil nodded, “I loved it.”
“I was determined and it paid off, we found an oyster shell with a pearl and now Virgil is obsessed,” Gordon smirked as Scott slumped into Jeff’s chair, “don’t look so defeated, it could’ve been you if you weren’t so stubborn at the moment.”
“I’m too busy,” Scott didn’t look up, “you should change before Grandma sees you.”
Kayo walked in, “ah there you are Virgil.”
Gordon grinned and shook his wet hair all over her, “now that’s a successful day.”
“Urgh, you little brat!” Kayo shouted and pushed him onto the sofa where he immediately began giggling.
“Virgil, what are those in your hands?” Kayo asked, stepping forward.
“Oysters.”
“I hope we're not planning on eating them, I hate seafood.”
“No, I’m planning something else with them, and with any luck my plan will be a success.”
Kayo shrugged, “intriguing.”
Gordon sat up beaming with delight, “the world is my oyster.”
Virgil groaned, “and of course you go back to being annoying. I’ll be in the workshop if anyone needs me, urgently,” he winked at Kayo as she sat up on the desk.
“What’s he up to Gordon?”
“Let’s just say, a little determination goes a long way.”
“Maybe even to getting Dad back before Christmas,” Scott sighed then smiled as Kayo held his hands in hers, he looked up at her, “thanks.”

M is for Midnight Midnight feasts. When you’re a kid it meant a big deal because it was late. It can also be annoying as it means a new day, and for IR a midnight rescue is one that no-one wants to go on.
Example
Lanterns glittered on the Tracy Villa as the residents slept peacefully all deciding an early night would do them good. Kayo slept with a smile on her face on her lips as he draped her arm across Scott's bare chest, Virgil was tucked under his sheets with just the spike of his hair poking out, Alan was sprawled out on the floor and Gordon was somehow upside down with his head at the foot of his bed and feet up on the pillow, John was asleep on Thunderbird 5 finally getting some peace and quiet from communications. However, down on Earth weren’t so quiet, a fire had broken out in a factory in Newcastle, England, and the fire crews were finding it hard to tackle the flames, there was only one last resort, call International Rescue. John jumped as the globe alarm woke him up and he splashed water on his face before walking into the communications room letting zero gravity lift him into the air, “International Rescue, go ahead?” The house alarm went off and four sleep-deprived Tracys and Kayo walked into the lounge wearing their bedclothes and a duvet in Gordon’s case. “I’m sorry guys, it’s one of those calls,” John looked sorrowfully down on the group. Scott stretched before running a hand through his ungelled hair, “it’s alright John. Location?” “Newcastle, England.” Kayo smirked, “ah, hen and stag party heaven.” Alan lounged back on the sofa, “am I needed?” “I think Scott and Virgil can handle it. Gordon, go along too for extra help.” Gordon yawned, “FAB.” Virgil padded up to his chute sleepily, “see you in the sky.” Scott nodded, “see you in the morning.” John nodded back, “good luck.” Virgil began his gear up as Scott said goodbye to Kayo before going down to Thunderbird 1. “I’m going back to bed,” Kayo smiled as she followed the teenager back to the living quarters of the house, she said goodnight to him then walked into Scott’s room wrapping herself into the warm sheets as she gazed at the photo of herself and the eldest on his bedside table before falling asleep.

D is for drawing
When you live on an island in the middle of the ocean, you need activities to keep you from dying of boredom. The Tracys luckily have International Rescue, but what do you do when there are quiet days and in succession? Before the business had even taken off, Jeff and his late wife had pushed their children to find hobbies and things to keep themselves entertained. Lucy had taught all the boys how to play the piano and had encouraged them to ask for any instrument they wanted if they weren't keen to learn her first choice. All of them had chosen the guitar apart from the two eldest who advanced at both instruments. The boys also got on with lounge hobbies too with pool, art and using the indoor gym to stay fit so there was plenty to do, and sometimes all you want to do is just relax and that’s where the pool comes in handy. So when downtown graces the villa, there’s always music playing or the sound of splashing from the pool because after all, they’re still a regular family.
Example
“What are you drawing Virgil?” Alan asked as he joined his brother in the kitchen. “Whatever comes to mind.” “You’re grinning, you’re drawing us.” “Alright, maybe I am.” Alan hopped up onto a stool, “please don’t draw me with bad hair.” “I’m going to give you comb over,” Virgil smirked as he heard Alan groan. “You can’t be serious?” “I’ve already drawn you, and I haven't done anything to it.” “Good. I’ll be in the pool if you need me.” Virgil waved without looking up and continued to draw, he heard the sound of his piano stool being moved back across the floor above him and the notes of Michael Nyman echoed down the stairs which gave him an idea, he tucked his sketchbook under his arm and walked up to the lounge hoping that the music wouldn’t stop, he walked around the ring over to the pool table and sat down behind it before continuing to sketch as his eyes flicked from the piano to his drawing and back again. Scott smiled as he played, “busy Virgil?” “You’ve just given me an idea, that’s all.” “Glad I could be of help,” Scott followed his hand up to the top octaves of the piano as the piece 'The Heart Seeks Pleasure First' swirled around the room. “Nice playing…Scott?” Kayo looked up with surprise as her eyes laid upon her boyfriend sitting at the piano, “well this is a pleasant surprise,” she stopped by Virgil and looked down at his drawing, “very good, but I think it’s missing someone, there,” she pointed at the rough outline on the page. “And what makes you say that?” Kayo walked over to the piano and wrapped her arms around Scott’s neck resting her chin upon his head, “because it would look cuter.” Scott smiled contentedly as he played, “it’s Virgil's drawing, K, if he doesn’t want it to be romantic, that’s his choice.” “Hold still guys,” Virgil hopped up onto the desk facing the piano and began to sketch them, “here comes the regret Kayo.” Kayo smiled as Scott’s torso moved under her arms, “never.” Virgil shrugged and continued to sketch the couple at the piano laughing softly together, as he drew, he remembered how their relationship had shocked everyone at first but ever since they had become a couple they smiled a lot more around the house and on missions, he finished the sketch and looked up just as they were kissing, “guys?” “Sorry Virgil, what is it?” “It's done.” The last notes still echoed under the unreleased pedal and Kayo walked over to the desk followed swiftly by Scott, she smiled at the drawing and took it from his hands. “Wow Virgil, this is beautiful.” Scott squeezed Scott’s shoulders, “thanks brother, aw you’ve got Alan in there too.” “I’m doing all of us.” “But I’m in your spot,” Scott smiled at him. “I'll find a place to put myself.” “It’s great having an artist in the family, I can't wait to see the whole thing.” “That won’t take long,” Virgil tucked the pencil above his ear. “International rescue, we have a situation,” John appeared above the table in the ring. “I guess it will have to wait.”
These two need to become canon, I mean look at them!! <3 if I didn’t ship them before this episode which I did, I deftinitely ship them now

C is for crying
Everyone cries and there’s no shame in it, you might cry when a pet dies or when you hurt yourself, then you might also cry when a mission goes horrendously wrong. There isn't a way to express your self-disappointment anymore than just sobbing. The Tracys have cried a lot of times, over the tragic loss of their mother, over the injuries they have sustained from missions and sometimes just from a broken heart. Sometimes the crying is in privacy and alone. The want to be alone is always respected but there were always times especially when they were younger when a brother would go to the nearest person and just burst into tears seeking the comfort of any sort. Crying is just a force which has no limits.
Example
All the eldest were at university, Scott was in his final year at Oxford where Kayo was also studying, the siblings didn’t see each other often as being two years apart split their timetables apart. Their other siblings were all in America apart from Alan who was homeschooled but they called each other every day to check in on subject progress and attended any event a member of the family was in where it be one of Virgil’s recitals or Gordon’s swimming competitions. One afternoon Kayo received a message from Scott, this wasn’t uncommon as they spoke to each other a lot whether it was just a hello or advice on coursework, but this message was different, the note was asking her to come to his house off campus. Kayo replied immediately and grabbed her phone and keys before leaving her on-campus accommodation. Scott’s building was in the middle of town where he shared a block with three girls and two guys who were both in relationships within the house, and as far as Kayo knew, Scott had a girlfriend too so she wasn’t sure why he was inviting her over, she approached the door which opened before she even knocked, Scott’s face came into view and Kayo’s heart skipped a beat in sympathy. “Tell me what happened,” Kayo pushed him inside and climbed the stairs with him to his room, she closed the door and her brother burst into tears as he sat down on the edge of the bed. “She cheated on me.” Kayo sat down beside him and rubbed his hand with her thumb, “who?” “Tabitha White,” Scott’s head dropped into his hands. “Who with?” “Brad Davis, he fucking lives here. I can’t stay here Kayo.” “You’re in your final year, not much longer, and then we all move back home,” she squeezed his arm affectionately as he sobbed, she looked around his room and noticed blank spaces on his noticeboard and the remains of a sticker mark scratched off his guitar, “she meant a lot to you didn’t she?” Scott nodded tapping his heels frustratedly on the carpet, “my own housemate, we all hung out sure, but to date my housemate under my own nose.” “Oh Scotty, if it makes you feel you better, your relationship lasted a lot longer than mine,” she nudged him playfully making him smile, “you know, I’ve been taking lessons in Kung Fu outside of uni, want me to teach him a lesson, or her for that matter?” Scott shook his head with a tearful chuckle, “no thank you. Your comfort is enough little sister.” “Are you going to tell Virgil?” Kayo sat back on the bed crossing her legs under her as Scott got up to get his guitar. “Not yet, he’s got his final recital coming up,” he sat down tucking his leg under him as he balanced the instrument across his knee, “I don’t want him worrying about me,” he scratched more of the paper off then tuned the strings, “thanks for coming over Kayo.” “Oh, shall I go now then?” Kayo smirked as he looked at her quizzically. “I don’t want you to leave?” “I’m teasing, it sounded like you were satisfied with my visit," she smiled softly, "don’t hold a grudge against your housemate, as long as he thinks you don’t know they’re going out, they’ll stay out of your way.” “Are you sure about that?” “You graduate in a month Scott,” she reached out and stroked a loose strand of hair back off his forehead, “there’s no point in letting it affect how you do for the rest of the term.” Scott felt tears again and paused his fingers on the strings to wipe his eyes, “don’t tell Gordon about this.” Kayo cuddled up against him, “I wouldn’t dare Scotty. Brad and that girl can go to hell for all I care, no-one breaks one of my brother’s hearts,” she winked at Scott’s glare before laughing, “if you really can’t face it here Scott, we have a spare room on campus, I’ll request it if you’d like?” Scott nodded, “if you could, please?” “Done and done,” Kayo sighed as she leant back against Scott’s arm as he resumed playing, “I’ll always be here for you when you need a cry.” “Thanks, you’re stronger than me.” “Ha, not always. I’ll tell you about it one day," she sighed as the music drifted around the two of them and Scott's smile returned.

B is for Bromance
Before International Rescue, there was just a family of five ordinary boys and their adopted sister. No-one flew rockets or jets and not one of them knew a thing about saving lives apart from what they saw emergency crews did on TV, but what never changed was their bond. So tight nothing could break its relationship through school came and went but the family rope never became loose or broke even through the harshest of breakups and jealousy especially revolving around the eldest and young aquanaut. Now as rescue workers and trauma specialists they could balance both family and viticms on either hand, but even with such bravery there was always fear when a brother was looking death in the eye or trapped on a mission. However, when they got home there were alwyas hugs and comforting words on high alert, and each of them had their own way of coping with tough missions.
Example Kayo was the only girl on the island and she vividly remembered the day Jeff told his sons that they would have to become more aware of the fact there was a woman on the island and in the house, she had found it very funny but at the same time she had told them not to worry or change in any way. The age of thirteen had hit her hard and once every month always took its toll and she would never join the boys in the pool and find herself crying over the smallest of things. It was one of those days today and she popped two painkillers into her mouth before walking up into the lounge and pulling a cushion to her chest as she curled up on the sofa. Eighteen-year-old Scott walked into the lounge after finishing his studies with his father, he jogged down the steps and sat down quietly beside the sixteen-year-old, he wrapped his arm around her without a word and smiled when she cuddled up to him with a sniff. “Do you need anything?” Scott asked as Kayo hissed in pain. Kayo shook her head in reply, “no, this is plenty.” Virgil walked in holding a hot water bottle and gave it to her before continuing his route to the piano to practise, “you look like you needed it.” Kayo smiled as she hugged the keyboard patterned plush, “thanks Virgil, you guys are so sweet.” Gordon skidded into the lounge followed by an eight-year-old Alan, “movie time. Aww Kayo, what’s wrong?” “Nothing I can’t handle fishfinger.” “Finding Nemo!” Alan grinned as he leapt into one of the sofas in the ring. “No, Kayo chooses the film to watch,” Gordon snapped back at him causing the eight-year-old’s lip to tremble. “I’ll watch that Alan, it’s your choice,” Kayo smiled and Alan’s grin returned immediately. “Stop playing Virgil, the movie is starting,” Alan glared over his shoulder at the pianist. “Alan, don’t be rude, what has Dad told you about being selfish,” Scott scolded as Gordon sat down at his feet. “Not to.” “We’ll watch the movie after Virgil has finished his composition.” Virgil closed the lid over the keys, “I was thinking of stopping anyway,” he jogged down the steps and sat down on Kayo’s other side much to her delight as his fluffy jumper became a cushion against her arm, “feeling any better?” “A little, the hot water bottle really helps, thank you,” she leant against his arm and he returned a brotherly kiss to her forehead as Alan turned the holoprojector on. Halfway into the movie, John walked in and sat down on the floor against Virgil’s legs, he smiled up at Kayo who was snuggled between the two eldest on the sofa eating chocolate buttons. Jeff walked into the lounge whistling only to be shhhed by his children. “Well well, now I know what you all mean when you say you’re doing homework,” Jeff smiled as Alan shrank into the cushions. “We’re just looking after Kayo,” Virgil remarked bashfully. “Sorry Mr Tracy, I’m keeping them from their studies.” “Oh Tanusha, call me uncle Jeff or just Jeff,” he winked which made Kayo smile, “I can see this is more urgent. Now, how does pizza sound for later?” Cheers of agreement answered his question, “good, enjoy the film.” Kayo sighed as she leant back against her brothers, “you guys are the best.” “This is what brothers are for,” Scott stretched his arm around her shoulders as everyone’s focus went back onto the screen.
