Story and Original Character Pinterest Boards
So... I don’t know how many of you here who follow me are aware of this: but I am a writer hence the username. When I joined tumblr, I thought I would keep my blog to be strictly writing-related...obviously that’s not what happened. I’m sorry all of the puppies and kittens on this site are just too overwhelming.
Anyway... So from time-to-time I do like to post things relating to what’s been my #1 writing project for the past 6-ish years or so: my still-a-work-in-progress novel, titled Tail Feather. The story is heavily inspired by/directly relates to the legend of Swan Lake, but there are modern elements, magic, a lot of mystery, some re-telling aspects, a healthy dose of angst, dual timelines, romance, complicated family trees, curses, yada yada yada.
Here’s a mock-up of how the book jacket would read:
Elizabeth's annoyed as hell... What would you do if a Curse swept in on the night of your Homecoming Dance, caused everyone you know to forget you exist, forced you to hide out by a lake in the woods, and left you alone to deal with turning into a freaking bird every morning?
Arthur's grasping at straws... What would you do if your childhood friend and now Homecoming date disappeared the day after the Dance, and you were the only person who cared or even seemed to notice? On top of that, your late father might have written a book that cryptically explains it all...sort of.
I’ve mentioned some of the characters here before: Elizabeth Parker, Arthur Peterson, Karina Collins, and Erik Calderón. If you don’t recognize those names, it’s cool. But if you are one of the few who do recognize them, or I’ve somehow piqued your interest, I have a treat for you.
I recently discovered the magical time-sucking wormhole that is Pinterest, and have spent the better part of the past day or so putting together ‘boards’ for the overall story, each of the previously mentioned characters, and a few others. So, if you’re interested in checking that out, you can find them here:
