The Artemis-Can-Talk-To-Animals Fanfic Part 1

BEFORE I START:  This is an AU where Sr didn’t get kidnapped; but instead cuts himself off from Artemis, because of Artemis’ freakish ability to talk to animals. He does invest in Russia, but does not go with the boat. Artemis Jr wants not only to restore the family fortune, but to impress his father. And if it wasn’t too much to ask, be at least somewhat respected by his father. Being loved by Artemis Fowl Senior when you could talk to animals was a mere dream, one that would never come true. Also, this is just a small part, if anyone wants me to continue this, just DM me or ask me or tag me or something.

ARTEMIS POV

Nguyen was about to lead us to the only seemingly secure ‘lead’. Another joke? I am slipping up. I excused myself to use the, ahem, facilities. I went inside the restaurant and slipped out to the other side through the lavatory door. I let out a soft whistle and held out my are. A bird hopped on to it. I let out another whistle, asking if she knew anything about a green-coloured healer on Tu Do Street. She said that it was true. I thanked her and left. I don’t usually thank people. Animals, however are different. My ability is one of the few things I cannot explain. But soon, I will be able to. Soon. And maybe even fix myself. Maybe then my father wouldn’t be so distant. 

No. No, I cannot succumb myself to this foolishness. This-this idiotic hope. All these feelings were giving me a headache. I have to bottle them up if I don’t want to drown. Father said that to me. He doesn’t do it often, but when he does I listen to every word. Father could never be wrong. His business deals may have sometimes been less than legal, but he made us a fortune. He may have hurt people, but it was for his own protection. He may have killed but it was... it was.. No. It couldn’t be. Father is never wrong.
