Talon Bennett

Age: early 20′s

His mother did her best to hide him from Ratha’s purge of humans and their hybrid offspring from Moonlight Falls during her rule. His father as believed to be among the slain. They lived alone as outcasts in the forest outside Moonlight Falls until he was a teenager then his life was again thrown into chaos. Quinn Sylvia came to make goo on her promise of taking him in payment of saving his life before he was even born. His mother said he’d save the world but all he could see he was destroying hers. Several years later, knowing that all he and his friends tried to accomplish in closing the time rifts was for nothing. There were too many rifts, too many holes. For the good of both dimensions it had to be sealed, closed from all others. Leaving his dad behind in the other dimension and his new family, Talon decided it was time to return home, his mother needed him. The only way back was through the connection in Imagionationland. What will he find upon his return?

@dandylion240 and I have a new chapter available for “The Academy.” Essentially, we decided it’d be best to cancel the BC we had planned for Pandora with the teachers and focus on the students so that we can move further along with our legacies.

Chapter 14 – Advice

A couple of years had passed since Quinn made the proclamation that their son had been marked by darkness. Patrick was lost in thought as he absently watched a bunch of kids of all ages run screami…

Its been a while since I’ve updated this side story. It’s time I bring this up to date with what’s happening in the main story. I had a few more pics I wanted to take but my game decided to crash before I finished so I decided to use the pics I had instead of waiting to get the pics I wanted. Hope you enjoy regardless. Ellery grinned at Zinnia taking the empty desk beside her while his sister walked past towards the back. While she was taking a seat the door opened and Talon walked in. His hair was a mess like he hadn’t taken the time to comb through it yet. He glanced around the room before slumping into a nearby chair close to the door.

Ivy covered her mouth to hide the grin that threatened to show her amusement. She sensed the last thing the boy wanted was anymore attention to be directed at him. She looked up in time to see Audric give the boy a stern look but to her relief he didn’t say anything. He just turned nodding once to the teacher and left the room. Glancing at the clock she realized the boy really wasn’t late, just on time barely.

When the room was silent the teacher addressed the class. “I’m Angelo Williams, I’m Miss Gray’s aid. Before we get into the nitty gritty of time travel does anyone have any questions?”

Ellery raised his hand. “Go ahead,” Mr Williams pointed at the red head.

“Can someone who knows how to travel between dimensions also know how to time travel?” he raised an eyebrow hoping to challenge his new teacher. He was sure regardless of the answer he knew more than he did. He was encouraged by the sound of his sister’s giggle from the back of the room.

“Well we won’t be getting into dimension travel in this class,” Mr. Williams said, skirting the question as his eyes scanned the room for any other hands.

Angelo was shocked and had no idea what to do. He walked away from the front, choosing to stand to the side away from Pandora’s peripheral. Pandora smirked and sat down by Zinnia’s desk, much to the girls’ chagrin. This kid had guts and he did know what he was talking about.  

Ellery expertly explained the answer to Drew’s question and then dropped his dry erase board marker as if it was a mic and he had just won the biggest rap battle of his life. The other students looked on in awe, as Pandora kicked her feet up on Zinnia’s desk.

“If you don’t get 100s on all of your tests,” Pandora said, “I’m going to deduct points from the whole class’ average. Since, you know all about time travel.”

“W-ait!” Zinnia cried. “So you’re saying that I could fail because of him!”

Pandora nodded. “Yupp. It’s called teamwork. Lesson number one. All for one and one for all. Of course you all have to study so that if he does get deductions you won’t outright fail.”

“You have nothing to worry about,” Ellery told Zinnia with a wink. “I’ll ace every single test she puts in front of me.”

“Yes sir. I’m sorry sir,” Talon mumbled thinking he would be better off if the floor opened up and swallowed him. Since that didn’t happen he hand no choice but to endure the severe glare and lecture about proper deportment he was no doubt going to receive.

“We’re going to be late,” Zinnia informed her dad, hoping that would deter him from a lengthy reprimand.

“I promise.” Talon glanced toward Zinnia thanking her with his eyes. “It won’t happen again.”

“Be sure that it doesn’t,” Audric told the boy before shooing them off to their next class.

“He hates me,” Talon groaned looking over his shoulder to see the headmaster staring after them.

“He doesn’t,” Zinnia tried to reassure him. “Just don’t do it again.”

“I won’t. I’ll just take my chances at being late,” Talon assured her. “I should have just gone with you to the library like I wanted to. Then I wouldn’t have gotten into this mess.”

Talon tried to slow down when he saw Zinnia emerge from the library in front of him, but he knocked into her sending them both toppling to the floor. Crawling over to her “Are you alright? I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m sorry.”

Brushing his hands from her Zinnia sat up “I’m fine.” She turned to gather her things hoping her her Dad wouldn’t come into the hall and see them on the floor.

“What’s going on here?” her father’s voice spoke above them. From the severe tone he was using he was none too pleased with what he saw.

“I’m uh sorry,” Talon mumbled, picking up Zinnia’s bookbag and handing it to her. “I was trying to get back to class and I um sort of…” he gave Zinnia a pleading look as if to ask for her help.

“It was just an accident,” she almost said “Dad” but she swallowed it before the word could escape. She looked down at her feet unable to meet his disappointed gaze.

“I see,” he grumbled. “There’s rules against running in the hallways.” He gave Talon a withering look intended to make the boy squirm.

Drew’s shoulder’s rose to his ears. “Don’t know. He wasn’t in the room when I left.” His voice was unconcerned though as he turned to follow Zinnia to class. “What’s your hurry?”

“I don’t want to be late.” Zinnia tossed over her shoulder, not waiting to see if the boy was following or not.

“You’re never late.” He jogged to catch up to her. He leaned against the door preventing her from entering the classroom. “What’s so important that you have to be early to everything?” he demanded, crossing his arms.

She flashed him a look of annoyance before reaching around him to open the door. She giggled when he fell backwards when the door swung open. “I made a promise to do the best I can and I always keep my promises,” she said walking passed him.

She set her things down on a desk towards the front. She could hear Drew shuffling his feet behind her. Her focus though was on her dad who was standing beside the teacher with two new kids, a boy and a girl. She looked behind her when the door opened again and Sonny walked in.

Sonny moved towards the nearest desk beside her brother mumbling something about over sleeping. Leaning over she whispered, “have you seen Talon? I thought he’d be here.”

Shaking his head, Drew frowned. “I haven’t seen him all day.”  He opened his mouth to say something else but the sound of Audric clearing his voice cut him off.
