Early Target Training with Glatisant

May start using a target stick but for now a hand does the trick

Sakura tries a new technique to get fed. It is a success!

Please note I'm now trying a more advanced form of target training and this example is not for a beginner. Sakura has shown she understands target training, and I'm making it a bit more challenging now, placing her in an environment she is familiar with but not during feeding time. This can cause issues if you do not have solid training with your snake, such as confusion between play time and feeding time, and might even lead to your pet biting out of confusion, thinking it is food time when it isn't. If you are using target training to indicate feeding time, it's best to keep it in the enclosure for this purpose. I'm doing more advanced training to see if she can progress this behavior into more complex following, which might show they are capable of even more complex things than we currently think is possible - and she seems to have fun with the challenge (though her shyness is something we are still working on, and she has come an incredible way already.)

Rudi's Targets

I wasn't going to bother my tumblr followers with this, but seeing as i just got handed a nice vet bill, and have more coming;

I have had a little business going selling target sticks! I just opened the shop to international orders if anyone fancies one.

The telescopic ones are much cheaper to ship, just so you know.

Throughout this process he broke my stick because he thought the aim of the game was to chew it so he just casually split my stick in two

Atypical Body Target Training - Hind End Targeting

Aka I'm teaching my service dog to booty bump doors and drawers shut because he already likes to do this particular behavior so now it's going on a cue bay-bay

I dearly wish I had a target stick right now but we're making this work with my hand

Currently he has the cue down to target my hand with his ass and now we're transitioning to targeting soft pieces of furniture before transferring it to a door.

Bonus happy chupacabra at the end as I throw him a toy reward

Getting back into our stretching routine. Mary definitely needs a refresher on manners, and so getting back into active training and using her brain for good and not evil is something I need to reprioritize. I've definitely been slacking on her with the winter, and it's catching up to me with some bad behavior on her end 😬

But she picked back up with her stretches like a champ, very smart and resourceful. You can tell i'm really half-assing the whole day, my outfit is thrown together and I didn't even bother grabbing a treat pouch. She had been moving around quite a bit before this though, so i wanted to take advantage of her muscles already being warmed up for stretches, so it was one of those last minute training sessions for sure.
