You've Convinced Yourself
They say they’re helping you--
You can believe them, be convinced,
But truly
You are helping yourself
With the words of others
The ones you’ve accepted
The ones you’ve understood
The ones you’ve convinced
yourself with thus you’ve convinced yourself
With others’ words
But you’ve convinced yourself
Truly
Morning Daze (edited)
Eyes dreaming--innocence, floating
jars of water and even though
they're shut, a sneeze--the sun
brightening eyelids peach, pressing
through cracks, waking for day though
this daze won't break; body cold, memory warm.
Morning Daze
My eyes are dreaming of innocence and floating jars of water and Even though they're shut I sneeze as the sun brightens my eyelids peach pink She's shining through the cracks of the shades Telling me wake up for the day But my daze won't break; my body is cold and these memories warm
Passing By (edited)
Man caught up in frivolity
To woman, growth and love.
Too busy weighing stones,
Or picking flower's petals.
Why is it that two cannot dance
On the same cloud passing by?
One missing, suchlike a train,
One waiting for its passenger,
But neither meet, although
They know each other well.
Passing By
Man caught up in frivolity
To woman—growth and love.
Too busy weighing stones,
Or picking petals off flowers.
Why is it that two cannot dance
On the same cloud passing by?
One missing like a train,
The other waiting for its passenger,
But neither meet, although
They know each other quite well.
Save Us (edited)
When your mind becomes a cloud,
save us on shallower ground,
on your heart where we'll dance to it's song.
Because I know its hard when
clouds send thoughts like heavy rain, hurricanes,
and spin you in all directions.
Our souls standing there, juggling different fears,
as the clouds of rain try to wash them near
the tides moving, but they just won't take.
When the rain bows in your tears' defense,
save us on shallower ground,
on your heart where we'll dance to its song.
