Sailing into the past|| Taylor & Hope
Another day and another house call. The company had been on rather thin staff, a lot of them had gone off sick with the coldness that seemed to grow in people who touched the chest on the beach. So with such a thinning staff, Hope was being allowed to house calls unsupervised. After the first few, her boss had even suggested she not go back on first time probation when the staff numbers increased again.
With that little titbit of information in her mind, Hope had made her way happily down to the docks to answer a call for a houseboat. Not something she’d ever had the pleasure of working on before, but she was excited for the challenge as she approached the outcastaway.
As she stepped onto the outer deck Hope spied a coat hanging out to dry over a chair in a rare moment of sunshine. A patch on the sleeve giving the girl a small jolt of warmth as a familiar band name sunk in and a song from her childhood started playing in her head.
With that song in mind Hope knocked and waited patiently at the doorstep holding her box of tools. Humming the song and looking over fondly at the coat. It reminded her of a great summer.
