Who is this Edgy Lost Child????
- MODERN AU; It’s somewhat like PJO??? But it doesn’t involve the greek gods??? Or roman?? or any gods from this earth????
- On and Hong were on the streets, running away from their abusive family. It’s been a few weeks, and they were already running out of their emergency funds for food.
- While On was asleep, Hong decided that he needed to help his Noona out more. Between the two of them, Hong is the quickest. He’s also really good at snatching things. So, he decided that he would pickpocket without his Noona knowing.
- However, the person he pickpocketed from had a wallet that only had some kind of shady business card in it. There was no cash, and there were no bank cards either. He wonders if he should return the wallet at all.
- Panicking about getting caught and not being back in time his Noona wakes up, he throws the wallet in the dumpster.
- The wallet was left open, the card was left upright. And the sigil on the wallet began to glow.
- Hong made it back just as On was waking up. However, the moment the both of them got ready to buy their breakfast, a large explosion happened exactly where Hong threw away the wallet.
- An eldritch looking monster stomped out of the alleyway, roaring at the nearby people and pushing away cars. The road cracked under its feet.
- Then, the monster locked eyes towards the siblings. Then, it started stomping towards them.
- The siblings began to run. The ground kept on shaking from the heavy steps of the monster. Although it was slow, its steps were large, and it wasn’t too long until it caught up to them.
- They ran into a dead end, and the monster managed to catch up to them. The siblings were cornered. The dead end was a cement wall, so they can’t even climb over it. They were doomed.
- Well, until some black-haired kid wearing a black hoodie landed in front of them. They watched as this tiny kid (TINIER THAN HONG) flipped a silver coin into the air. And then, to Hong’s eternal glee and surprise, the coin turned into a cool-looking black sword that’s letting out some bad-ass blue... smoke? aura?? Well, whatever it was, it looked cool!
- The monster charged. And so did the tiny kid. And Hong watched with fascination how such a little kid was able to sprint so fast, jump so high, and stab the monster in the neck. There was no blood, just a dark aura.
- Then the sword glowed, seeming to burn the monster.
- The monster roared. Bright light escaped from the cracks forming on the monster’s body. Then, the monster exploded into ashes. It was pretty sick.
- On also felt pretty sick, and vomited all over the ground.
- Hong rubbed her back as she let out what was left of last night’s dinner.
- The child turned towards them, frowned, and offered his water bottle.
- Outside of the alleyway, the children heard the people shouting, “The Earthquake is over!”, and “Get to the evacuation centers! There could be aftershocks!”
- On scrunched her brows towards the black-haired child. “Earthquake?” she asked. “They couldn’t see the monster?”
- The child shrugged. “It’s something called ‘glamour’,” he said. And both siblings realize how squeaky his voice is. “It makes people see something else happening, and to them it was an earthquake.”
- “How old even are you?” asked Hong. On stood up straight, feeling better after drinking a bit of the water.
- The child snarled. “What’s it to you?”
- Hong shrugged. “It’s just... you’re tiny!”
- “I could be ages older than you!”
- On frowned. “And that’s why we’re asking. Because to us, you look like you could be 4 years old.”
- “I TURNED 6 LAST MONTH!!!”
- And... isn’t that worse? There’s this tiny kid running around with a magic sword and beating up monsters with it... and he has a cute pouty face... but he’s sooo much younger than On who is 12 and Hong who is 9.
- But, anyways, “What were those monsters” she asked. “Why did they appear?”
- The child crossed his arms. “It must have been those Hunters,” said the child. “They have these monsters sealed within some kind of card. When people least expect it, they release the monster. The monster chases after demigods.”
- On and Hong looked towards each other with wide eyes. But Hong’s eyes were even wider. “It’s my fault.”
- On frowned. “What are you talking about.”
- Hong was holding tightly to the end of his shirt, pursing his lips. “I... While you were asleep I... I tried pickpocketing someone...”
- On wanted to get angry, but her brother’s face was close to crying. And her brother is usually the happier one between the two of them. She couldn’t bear to get angry.
- So, she took her brother into her arms. “I’m not angry at you,” she said. “I’m just glad that you’re safe. The pickpocketing... that was wrong, definitely... But the monster? It’s not your fault... who would expect a normal looking person to be a Hunter? Carrying some magic sealing card, hm?”
- Hong proceeded to cry. “I’m sorry, Noona... I just wanted to help you...”
- On hugged Hong tighter. “I’m your Noona, and you’re my Dongsaeng. We’re helping each other enough, okay?”
- “I need to take you guys back to the Super Rock Villa,” said the child that they completely forgot for a moment, which caused the siblings to flinch.
- The siblings looked towards the child. “The Super Rock Villa?” On asked.
- The child nodded. “It’s like a mansion? But... it’s also as big as a castle?”
- On and Hong blinked. “Wait,” said Hong, voice hoarse and nose red from his crying, “you live in some kind of castle? What are you doing out here?”
- The child snapped his head away from them. “What’s it to you? You don’t need to know! I don’t ask you why you guys are out in the streets!”
- Hong stepped forward. “If we tell you our reason, will you tell us yours?”
- “No!” snapped the child.
- On stopped Hong before he could continue. “Well, let’s get going to this place then,” she said. “Is there good food there?”
- The child huffed, seeming to puff his chest and tilting his lips up in pride. “Of course! Good-Beacrox cooks the greatest and the most delicious food you’ll ever taste!”
ADDITIONAL NOTES ON THIS AU
- Hong and On don’t actually have a godly parents, along with the Wolf children. But they are Legacies of the blessed Cat and Wolf Tribes, whose goddess the the Mother Dragon. Whatever power those tribes had in the ancient times, they inherited them.
- The child, Raon Miru, is the child of Kim Rok Soo. His mother is the Mother Dragon herself. In this AU, Raon wasn’t tortured or brought to Venion at all. Instead, he was born from some powerful friendship between his dad and mom. Literally. Gods are just weird like that, okay?
- The reason why Raon became edgy at such a young age is because his father got kidnapped by the Hunters when he was 4. His mom had turned silent too. None of the adults would even let him help with the search, even if he is stronger than 10 Knife-Wielding Rons. He was too smart for his young age, a perk of being his mom’s child. And so, going past the defenses his Goldie Gramps (even if he’s younger than his mom) set up, he went into the city to find his dad.
- That’s when he met On and Hong.
- He gets scolded by Goldie Gramps later.
- On and Hong decides to help Raon find his dad. On gets the trust of the adults and manages to get some information from them on how they’re going with the search. Kim Rok Soo is still nowhere to be found.
- [Something happens in the middle, some battles and intense data gathering]
- They come face to face with...
- “DAD!!” Raon cries. “Dad! DAD!! It’s me!! It’s me, Raon!!!”
- “Raon, wait!” shouts On, grabbing the child before he could run towards the man.
- Hong stood protectively in front of Raon, vials full of poison ready in case they need it. But, looking at the man, he couldn’t help but have a bad feeling. “There’s something wrong with him! Look, he looks different! He smells like dead mana, too!”
- Raon gulped. The red haired man who looks so much like his father, grins. But unlike the scamming smile Raon had come to know and love, it looked completely evil.
- “Your father is no more, child,” he said. “The Hunters did their job well. Praise to the Sealed God, this White Star has returned!”
