Welcome to the Total Drama fandom's first-ever Big Bang! We are so excited to have you! If you need to, please review the guidelines of the event. They have everything you will be agreeing to, including word count minimum, art minimum, how many fics you are allowed to claim as a beta and/or artist, and the official posting dates. You do not need to have your summaries set now, but we recommend that you start brainstorming for ideas if you haven't already.

If you are still on the fence about committing, no worries! Sign-ups are open for the next month if you are considering being an author, and even longer for artists and beta readers.

After signing up, you'll receive an e-mail with our Discord server! Authors will also receive their team number. Later on when matches are made, you are allowed to share your team number on social media as well as on the server as part of your server nickname. Completely free, robust text-to-speech app for iPads from Tobii Dynavox (creators of TD Snap)

I don't know how many people know about it already, but just a heads up, there is a great, free, text-to-speech app from Tobii Dynavox called TD Talk.

Recently they updated to add multiple topics pages!

There's also a duel conversation option like TD Snap, where you can have multiple messages going at once in case you are speaking to multiple people, or get interrupted halfway through something.

There is NO visual customization as of right now. So that means the color scheme and font choice/size are what you get, unfortunately.

Currently only uses iOs system voices, but It's compatible with multiple voice-banking services offered by Acapela, ModelTalker, and The Voice Keeper.

This app is currently ONLY for iPads.

Yallll let's discuss our TDROTI AU concepts and ideas because they need more love and I'm super bored. Reblogs + asks will do (or replies)🙌

I'll start. I'm suuper into using the mutant aspect for settings/plotlines, it's something unique to them and pretty fun to mess around with even if it's kinda mixed in canon. I had an old apocalypse idea that was based around a nuclear winter (because... Canada) and had Jo + Cam as the initial protags (maybe they'd all form a settlement?) but didn't have much more thought than that, so... free to steal idea lol.

Lab AUs are what I really like thinking about tho-- one that I put a lot more thought into was Wanakwa Labs, where they're all hired by the government to study and contain dangerous mutant wildlife but I was mixed between it being a laboratory or a really dangerous open zoo for Money (if that sounds familiar yes it's just the SCP foundation and jurassic park mixed into one). I'd be here forever if I went through every little idea lol but basically some of them are zookeepers, others just do IT work and some are security guards who have to help said zookeepers in the event of a breach. If I were to actually explore this concept more I'd imagine it having multiple alternate storylines where some of the more dangerous animals break out (like one where Larry takes over the facility with overgrowth or idk the fucking squirrels get out and its like a re zero white rabbit moment) kinda like a video game

Another lab-based idea I've been thinking about is them as the test subjects this time. Maybe the auditions were a cover up to pick people for experiments or something similar. Yada yada mutant experiments and medical torture AND they're constantly drugged + have amnesia. It's beautiful. They all suffer. I'd love to explore this as an actual story honestly, imagine how awful it'd be

I think a lot of the fanbase agrees with this by now but yea she is NOT a villain lmaoo. I don't get roti s2 concepts that put her as a main villain because... she's not? Yeah she can be mean and hot-tempered but she doesn't go out of her way to do anything truly bad. She didn't even do anything wrong in the love triangle, she wanted VITO not mike, if anything mike should've come clean earlier to clear up the drama. Because the narrative pushes zoey's point of view, anne maria appears to be a lot more antagonistic than she actually is, BUT I do appreciate them giving her good moments as well. She may be self absorbed and suffocate those around her, but she very much has morals and I think she'd be a rlly fun friend. Wish they gave her someone to match her energy (in a positive way).

Will always disagree with the "brick deserves better" nah they deserve each other. Brick should be grateful he even gets to exist in my beautiful gorgeous intelligent strong amazing princess Jo's presence 🙄🙄

But for real I kind of always saw Brick needing Jo for the same reasons Cam needed her. Jo doesn't coddle people or sugarcoat things. Cameron was overprotected his entire life, it's no wonder he gravitated towards someone who didn't treat him like he was made of glass and seemed to always know what they're doing. She did bully the hell out of him and he got her back for that in the end, but to me it makes sense why they had that love-hate relationship (it's honestly one of my favourites). It's also why I don't believe in Jo being a protective "team mom" lmao, if your mom acts like that call CPS

Brick came across to me as someone who needed to be told to get his shit together. Like, his life is the military, his brain is pretty much wired for that kind of treatment. Brick doesn't need to be cuddled and comforted (though I'm sure he wouldn't mind it), he needs a sense of order and purpose to push through his fears, which is pretty much what Jo gives him (and it works). Quite literally, like Jo has some overlap with his military theme since she's so coach-like lmao (take-no-prisoners was originally a war term, she uses a whistle and yells orders like a drill sergeant, Brick's little drum motif sometimes plays for her, and putting her on the mutant maggots so she could call them 'maggots' is a fun detail).

Jo is harsh but she understands her teammates and their needs which is a great part of her character (she's a 𝖉𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖊𝖒𝖕𝖆𝖙𝖍🥶🖤⛓️). And yeah, maybe Jo could stand to be nicer to him. Maybe. But part of why they work together as a duo is because Jo isn't nice to begin with. Mean jo is best jo

TLDR: brick actually needs jo's harsh treatment since he literally got that soldier boy brain. they deserve each other.

How did the gen 2 cast even become your favorite cast out of all the 4 generations of TD? Is there something rlly special about them that you like? haha

Oooh good question :D

I started out with gen 1 like most people do and don't get me wrong, they're very iconic and fun, but I think my teeny child brain just wanted to watch Leshawna haha! I never got too deeply into the fan content back then, I was just a casual watcher.

Then the fandom had its revival in 2023 and that's when I actually started looking into it, but I just... couldn't get attached? A lot of the time when I watch shows there'll be at least one character or relationship I get REALLY fixated on, and nothing was hitting for me in Gen 1 (I love Leshawna casually, but I'm usually not inspired to write fics about her sadly). Then I was like "wait there were others weren't there" and that lead me down the rabbit hole.

I only had faint memories of ROTI (the clearest ones being Brick's Truth or Laser shark pants pissing secret and the snow fort in Ice ice baby) buuuut I did remember Jo grabbing my attention the most. And since those guys are less popular I became more interested in them-- it's a weird personal thing where I'm more likely to get into media with smaller or quiet fandoms lol.

The fact that they were less "in your face" as gen 1 contestants, their small cast size making them feel more tight knit (and easier to draw all of them), plus their "disney/nickelodeon teen sitcom" energy appealed to me personally. And I already had some love + nostalgia for Jo in particular, which then extended to the rest of the cast. Plus with less content there were more unexplored ideas :0

Overall I just like their vibe and how easy they are to portray as a big friend group, they really deserve more love 👍 And they have Lightning
