In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Gospel According to John (1:1)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
The Letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians (1:15)
You, O Christ, are the King of glory, You are the Father's everlasting Son
the Te Deum
The Son is properly the Image, the Word, and the Son as such. Likewise, therefore, "Image" designates Him as the expressed likeness, "Word" as the expressing likeness, and "Son" as the personal likeness. Again, "Image" designates Him as the likeness in order of form, "Word" as the likeness in order of reason, and "Son" as the likeness in the order of nature.
Saint Bonaventure (Breviloquium, Book 1, Chapter 3.8)
Te Deum Prayer. Happy New Year. God Bless.
Woman in a Kitchen by Julius Ehrentraut, c. 1900
Not because of victories I sing, having none, but for the common sunshine, the breeze, the largess of the spring. Not for victory but for the day's work done as well as I was able; not for a seat upon the dais but at the common table.
── Charles Reznikoff, "Te Deum"

We praise you, O God:
We acknowledge you to be the Lord.
All the earth worships you,
The Father everlasting.
To you all Angels,
All the Powers of Heaven,
Cherubim and Seraphim,
Sing in endless praise:
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabaoth;
Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of your glory.
The glorious company of the apostles praise you.
The goodly fellowship of the prophets praise you.
The noble army of martyrs praise you.
The holy Church throughout all the world does acknowledge you:
The Father, of an infinite majesty;
Your adorable, true, and only Son;
Also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.
You are the King of Glory, O Christ.
You are the everlasting Son of the Father.
When you took upon yourself to deliver man,
You humbled yourself to be born of a Virgin.
When you had overcome the sharpness of death,
You opened the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.
You sit at the right hand of God, in the glory of the Father.
We believe that you will come to be our judge.
We therefore pray you, help your servants,
Whom you have redeemed with your precious blood.
Make them to be numbered with your saints,
In glory everlasting.
Amen.
