I made a tea loaf for good luck since we just moved into our new house ❤️
~1 cup raisins/currants(I used five little boxes of Sunmaid raisins)
1 cup black tea (I used 2 tea bags but I might use more next time for a stronger tea)
2 cups self raising flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
Cinnamon and nutmeg(I didn’t measure these sooo….)
The recipe didn’t specify what temperature to preheat the oven, so I did some brief searching and went with 350°.
So, the recipe recommended you soak the raisins(or currants) overnight in the tea and brown sugar. I didn’t do this and it still tasted good, so it’s up to you!
Take the above mixture and add your flour and egg. This is also where I added my nutmeg and cinnamon, which aren’t in the original recipe.
Mix well, pour into a small loaf tin(my was 9x5) and bake for about an hour.
I’ve never made bread before, but I’m really proud of how this turned out. I hope everyone enjoys!
