A wee blast from the past, a photo of a dress made from Tunnocks tea cake covers in a museum in Hamilton in 2019. Only just realised the back of the case its being kept in is covered in the covers of the dark chocolate tea cakes😂 God how a Tunnocks Tea Cake reminds me of my wee granny 🥹 Scotland makes the best sweet things if you ask me, Tunnocks, shortbread, tablet to name but a few.

British people do you need to be rescued. I'm American, saw someone explaining to an Irish person that American coffee cake doesn't have coffee in it, but is meant to be served with coffee. They respond "ohhh like British teacakes!"

So I think to myself, well I love having coffee cake with my black tea. Let me look up what these teacakes are like; maybe they're better.

Why....... why do they look so unappetizing.... just having toast calling it cake.....

Is a Teacake made of tea?

Nope! A teacake is made of chocolate, marshmallow-y fluff and a biscuit base (that's biscuit like a hard cookie, not the bread-y American thing).

I presume they're called teacakes because you're meant to have them with tea.
