Original kitbashed gundam concept: Orion
I finished this at the very end of last year, and unleashed him upon the world in the new year. Sorry for the silence.
Orion is my first major kitbash project, I spent a few nights with my parts bin exclusively mixing and matching parts until i came up with something i liked, and then i started looking for extra parts to add and this is where orion was born.
he is a close combat focused mobile suit, with emphasis on higher mobility so he can weave in and out of enemy fire. he has a mid ranged rifle for early combat and looking for openings in enemy defenses, before moving in to a more comfortable combat range. dual mounted shoulder beam sabers, dual orion smasher swords and hidden knee sabers are the close combat loadout.
Back at it!
Trying out something new here. I had originally filled in these holes with putty but I didn’t like how end result looked. I thought it would look nicer if I added in some details and make an access panel instead. This easily covers up the hole and makes the part look more presentable. The panel was made using a stencil I bought from Simpmodels.com
Check out their store online, they have some neat tools and other odds and ends that you might find useful!
WIP from the GBA Hangout stream on Twitch. Thank you to all the new followers, subscribers and people who donated. I might be streaming tomorrow night. Follow me at on Twitch to see when I go live! https://www.twitch.tv/truegunpla
Adding in details
Last night was fun and I built some model kits with my friend. Streamed a little too. Added more details to my guntank and built a Dragonball kit as well. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
More progress!
A GBA buddy of mine sent me a pretty cool tutorial last night. I cut up styrene rods and glued them using tamiya extra thin cement. The purpose of this is to create weld seams and add more detail to the model! Here’s the tutorial by Panzermeister36

Saturday was a blast!
The day finally came for SCGMC. It's a Gundam model building competition (Along with other sci-fi categories). This year has been a tough one because I've been so busy with work.
I entered in the Star Wars category and won 2nd place with my Bandai 1/12 Sandtrooper!
There were plenty of solid entrees and I was happy to see that a lot of my model building buddies won as well in their respective categories too! Never doubt yourself and keep pushing yourself to improve!
Lets help Justin decide his next twitch plamo project!
