Max has a very rare blood disorder that, if left untreated, will develop into an incredibly deadly form of cancer. Max needs a stem cell transplant, and he needs it from a perfect match to ensure a 95% 5-year survivability rate. Unfortunately, Latino patients currently only have a 50% chance of finding that perfect match, and Max is 50% Colombian. He has approximately 2 weeks for us to flood the registries with new donors to help him find that perfect match.
Please, if you are Latino, between the ages of 18-35, consider ordering a kit to get added to the registry. Donation is a quick, relatively painless process, and you could save a child's life.
Max's dad, Juan, has taken to Tiktok to spread the word and get more people tested for compatibility. He's being told that, because Max is half Caucasian and half Latino, they need a million new registrations to give Max his best chance. Since launching his social media campaign there has been less than 100,000 new registrations. This is an incredible feat that is going to save lives, but it's not enough. Juan is asking each of his tiktok followers to recruit 10 people to get registered. I've reblogged his videos, but this is where I'm most active, so this is where I think I might be able to do any good.
