N.T. Wright and Slavoj Zizek are like beard besties. It's the avant garde moustache of theology and philosophy.
I just got my CUSTOM N.T. Wright tank-top from Allie!!!
Team Wright and Team Spongy Project: OMG GUYS I'M SUCH A SLACKER!!
I've been so caught up in my feelings for the past two weeks, I completely forgot to wrap up the project! SO SORRY OMG!! Tonight I'm gonna sew up some little loose parts and then go to FedEx before my class tomorrow to send them out to you guys!! There will also be a special surprise inside lol.

Sry former-HDWP, I think purgatory is vainly invented, etc.
And I think Tom Wright's increasingly obsessive argument about bodily resurrection is really true and really important. Even though he's personally pretty conservative about about sexuality issues and about feminism, I think his arguments can create a foundation for humane set of doctrines around sexuality. Because if we have some consensus that, in the glorious life of the world to come, we will all have physical bodies and real, physical lives, on earth and we'll be doingworkof ordering God'sgoodcreation then we can challenge thousands of years worth of (Greek, not Jewish or early Christian) beliefs about bodies being less good than dis-embodied souls and women's bodies being the most "fleshy" and imperfect of them all.
And I think this is a better foundation than I've found in more explicitly feminist theologians.
Team Wright & Team Spongy Project Update #2:
Yesterday I got them printed onto the back of a free freshman Iowa t-shirt that I never wore! Aren't they handsome??
Now I'm testing out my sewing skills on my tank-top, and I gotta say that my sewing skills suck really bad. Hopefully after this one I'll have gotten better for lavitafermata galesofnovember & acceptandembrace's!! But if I don't, I hope you guys will find my awkward stitches to be charming :D

Team Wright & Team Spongy Project Update:
Guess what, guys?! I have the tank-tops and t-shirts in all the right sizes, + fabric paint to do the lettering.
Here are the edited pictures (N.T. ended up getting some purple in his beard but I thought that looked pretty cool):
And now, an important question for the craft-y ones:
Will it be OK to print the images on cotton duck cloth (canvas) after machine-washing the cloth, or will duck cloth always shrink, even if washed in cold water? (I've Googled this but gotten a few different answers.)
The plan is to print the images onto something white, then cut them out and sew them onto the clothing. If the duck cloth doesn't work out, I have a white cotton shirt too.
THANKS, GUYS!
I'M EXCITED!
GO TEAM SPONGY!
Love,
Bananena
