Atychiphobia AU

"GHOSTS AREN’T REAL!!” At least, that’s what Character A said to their college roommate (Character B) who begged them to join their ghost hunting group. It was just for a bit of extra spending money, Character B explained -- something to help pay the bills. After all, who wouldn’t wanna make a few hundred bucks a night by going to some paranoid dude’s house and faking all the stuff they used to do when they played Phasmophobia?

Character A reluctantly agreed only after Character B promised that they could just be the tech guy, stay in the van they rented, and make sure everything was working like it should. The first few jobs were incredibly easy -- they faked most of it, of course, but saged the places at the end to make it seem more legit.

The problems only began when Character D was brought onboard; there was something a bit off about them, but Character A didn’t pay attention. After all, the equipment seemed to always go haywire around Character D, so they were pretty preoccupied. Who had time to get to know the newbie when expensive equipment was throwing out impossible readings?

Soon enough, Character A wishes they had.

omg I missed the techie au! what do the crew do after plays/for fun?

I did too!! I was reading back on my posts and kinda just 🥺🥺

And they do lots! I think I’ve answered a similar ask before but i have an idea!

After one particular show, Remus surprises the boys with tickets that he rented out to an entire ice skating ring

All of the couples were together at this point

Anyway so after closing night they all head to the cast party for like an hour before piling into Janus/Dees car and heading to the rink

Ofc Remus is delighted to skate and wastes no time getting on the ice, and he’s amazing at it, meanwhile Janus is clutching onto him with fear in his eyes

Virgil and Roman are doing their best to get the hang of it, kinda just holding hands whilst they skate

Logan is a pretty good skater and just glides by Patton who ofc is amazing and they chat as they skate

Pat and Rem do lots of fun stuff together in the ice including giving Logan a mini heart attack when Patton jumps into Remus’s arms but he catches him pretty quickly and safely

Logan skates up to them and just holds on to Patton for a bit

“Everything ok Lo?”

“Mhm” he says giving him a kiss, but he doesn’t let them do anymore tricks

It gets late and they get hungry so they go to the dining area and sit at this giant table

It’s pretty great they have sushi, and hot tea and just have a great night the six of them

Roman and Virgil take their leave for a bit to go explore the gardens nearby and kinda just sit in this gazebo and cuddle cus it’s cold and Roman just gives Virge a kiss on the forehead

Janus and Remus sneak away to the car to make out (cus why not) and then end up falling asleep after they watch a few episodes of tv on their phone

Lo and Pat actually stay on the rink and dance together, it’s really sweet and Logan ends up dipping Patton before pulling him up into a kiss

Remy and Emile couldn’t make it unfortunetely they had dinner with Remys Parents

The night stands quiet, everything silent as a cold yet simple breeze runs by. The faintest sound of the schools basketball team housing can be heard. And there alone he sits, isolated in the night with dim streetlights and the moon through the clouds.

The music rings loud in his ears, inspiring as it dances around him, his foot falls the rhythm, the control left him. He was at the musics hand, under its command. In his mind he floats and dances, but he simple smiles under the tree that drops soft water pellets ever so often. He looks up for a moment adjusting his hair, pulling his jacket tight the chill wasnt too bad.

A quick text to his mother wondering where she might be as of now, the constant cars pass by and the bench under him becomes more prominent. The music dies down, changing perfectly though his playlist. Maybe a little too long but what could you do, there were many musicals and he adored every single one down to his last breath.

Except Cats

“Fuck cats”

“Roman you can’t just say fuck cats with no context” A new voice chimes in, the aura shatters but builds itself up nicely as Romans eyes land a coy Virgil. He stands tall, his hands shoved neatly into jacket, how his hair framed his face

“Virge what...what are you doing here?” Roman questions, realizing the cold had frozen his words. A struggle to comprehend his thoughts.

“Here to pick you up” Virgil informs, Roman let’s out a sweet chuckle. Virgil extends his hand, the warmth looks inviting.

“My mom will be here soon, you can just leave me” Roman lies, knowing his parents had most likely forgotten once more about rehearsal. Virgil takes his hand anyway, demanding they stand face to face.

“Leave you?” Virgil smirks “Never princey” Virgil promises, giving the teen no time to respond as he brings him in for a kiss. Hopefully the cold covered up the boys fluster. “Come on, we can listen to musicals” Virgil jokes, leading them to the car.

“I love you” Roman leans into him, Virgil kisses his cheek feeling comfortable.

“I know” Virgil mumbles “I love you too”

Incident???? 👀👀👀👀 (With Ro thinking they are dating)

YEEE NONNIE!! Im so glad you asked!! Its a fun one so strap innnnn!

Roman thought it was chill at first, ya know? They hadn’t hung out much so sure! Virgil and Patton would probably be pretty close 

He ignored for a while but then as they did the shows he got increasingly more worried, also when a certain crush developed

I mean they were aLWAYS hanging out! Cuddling, laying on eachother, sleeping on one another, just constantly together

He talked to Logan first about it who got very flustered and simply said ‘No, they aren’t dating’ He would’ve told me

SO he’s like ok, maybe they don’t, maybe I’m being paranoid…so he tells Remus about his worries and ofc that wasn’t a great idea because Remus just makes fun of him and says “Ofc they are! Theyre always in the dressing rooms making out” And Romans like “Haha, very funny…but then…are they?”

So Dee tells him to let it go and be calm, Patton has no interest in Virgil and vice versa

So for a couple of weeks its chill, hes like ok, he sees them together alot but hes like whatever? what do I care?

So one night during Tech Week hes looking for both of them to check in on his costume and props, so he asks Lo where they are, Logan assumes the dressing room

So lo and behold he sees them (Pattons getting a piggyback from Virgil) as they make their way into the DR, Romans like…can’t deal with that so he puts it off for like 30 minutes until he HAS to go

So he walks in and just groans, Patton is using the sewing machine in one cair while Virgil is laying on his lap spread across two chairs and they’re watching Parks and Rec

Virgil waves hello to Roman remaining in his position and Patton just smiles brightly and Roman just bursts

“SO are you two dating or something?” Patton and Virgil share a quick look before laughing, but Roman remains still and he feels very overwhelmed and they realize…he’s serious

“Oh! Roman! No, of course not…Virgils like a brother to me” Patton assures, Virgil sits up now and they both stand “Yeah, I-I’m sorry if we…gave the wrong impression” Virgil apologizes

Roman feels AWFUL, and he starts rambling apologetically and Patton and Virgil are just like no! no! No! it’s ok! 

It becomes pretty awkward for the next few days until Virgil comes up to Roman before opening night and just goes “Break a leg” and kisses him on the cheek

WHICH ONLY SOLIDIFIED BOTH OF THEIR CRUSHES

and Patton obviously checked in with logan (He’s not sure why he did, he wasn’t …dating him but he wanted to make sure he was ok)
