John also wouldn’t be breaking up with Cara in Jephen verse… So I don’t think the Astrid kiss would have happened. I think he would have called her to warn her, but that would be it.
The problem with the Jostrid scene for me, is that Astrid is the one that makes the move. And having into account they're split after those asks, first thin I thought was "this kiss has happened", maybe the fanservice-y sentence and the jacket wouldn't, but the kiss feels like it.
HOWEVER, i don't really want it to happen, and if you say it wouldn't youre saving more angst, which is good because the next episode TwT >.<
A quiet tip off. Clarissa knew where John was. With the bombing sending Ultra into insanity, Clarissa teleported to the room she was told and broke the door in with a mighty push. "John, John, listen to me. Can you hear me? Please don't be dead, please don't be dead!"
John was splayed across the floor. If he had the will, he would have curled upon himself. Not exactly sure why he’s still fighting, his eyes remain screwed shut. The explosion doesn’t prompt much a response as he hardly realized what had taken place. At this point, he can’t be bothered to care. heard the explosion and couldn’t be bothered to care.
John Young is no stranger to pain, but this was agony. And he doesn’t know if it will ever end. Pain can be turned into power, he’d once said. And just this once, he thinks he might be wrong.
This train of thought is crushed though as he hears a crash. This is it. His story’s ending, but then there’s a voice, calling out to him. It’s familiar and he forces his eyes open. Clarissa, just as reckless as ever. He nearly smiled, but the gesture only pains him, morphing into a grimace instead.
“Clarissa, what are you —?” But then he remembered where he is and where she is. He struggled to get into a sitting position and his voice drops, coming out stronger now. “You gotta get out of here. — Leave me. I don’t know what’s going on but they can’t lose you too.”
"— I can’t. ” He said, something near desperation in his voice. John can’t let her know what’s happened to him, what they took from him. "But you have to. — I promised you I would protect you and I am."
"Trust me, this room is going to be surrounded by agents in no time." Even as he spoke, John was pulling himself upright using the chair, the same one he’d been strapped to what felt like moments ago. He might be giving the orders here, but he knows Clarissa, and she’s going to fight him, even if he begs her not to. He can barely hold his own weight on legs that once supported him and he’s beyond crippled by the searing in his veins and knowledge of what he’s lost.
“Go, Clarissa. Please. Be one of the things I did right.”

Stephen laid in the lighted room. Eyeing around, confused. It was the first time he put a foot on there. What was going to happen was out of his knowledge. He had finally made it through the first stage of the training. If he did it properly, he may stay and become a Dauntless himself. But unfortunately, odds didn't seem like it. He was brave, yes, but this test scared him. A litle more than any other.
"Sit there."
"What is this?"
"Nothing you haven't seen before."
Cordak, his tester, covered in black tattoos that escaped Stephen's understanding. Some looked like animals he had never seen before, others were just lines in a labyrinth form, like a map. He thought it may be the Dauntless compound map. considering he was always lost, it didn't look too far from the actual idea.
"Is this like the test?"
"Kind of, but you won't be tested on what faction you'll fit. Now, sit."
Stephen obeyed, sighing deeply as the psychotic drug got into his system. Falling asleep at the moment. His perception was blurry for a moment, back in that crystal room he once was. It all changed after a second. His house, at abnegation, the basement of the house.
"How many times have I Told you, Stephen?" The voice of his uncle echoed in the little room. He held his belt, menacing.
"I'm sorry!" He yelled, it was a reflex. "I won't do it again!"
His father shook his head. "When will you learn not to get near the girls!?"
Abnegation, being selfless didn't match with physical flirting. He was too used to those. Too used to go near the girls and play a smile. He was once or twice found by his uncle, Jedikiah, at the barn. Last time, with an Amity girl, after school.
"You're supposed to go unnotice!" He yelled once again, this time the belt whipped against his forearm as he protected himself.
Fear was paralyzing him enough not to respond. At least the first couple of whips against him. He didn't want to be defenseless anymore. He didn't want to be exposed to his tyrant uncle, the one who had taken the lead on raising, teaching, him the manners of Abnegation.
It was a second reflex, as the fourth hit was going to come he took his arm. "I'm not Abnegation anymore." He held his arm tight. "I AM NOT!" The screamed was accompanied but a hit in the arm, strength applied to place it behind him, belt falling onto the ground, shoulder getting out of its place before kicking his ass.
It all changed. Breathing, opening his arms. He was now in a different room. Water filling it as it went high. Higher than he would've want. He fought against the crystal, his body hitting hard, water already on his knees.
Then he remembered. He wasn't there. He was on the room. What was going on? This isn't real. He told himself, the crystal was not reflecting his image. The water was not feeling cold nor warm, it didn't feel like anything. This isn't real. He repeated to himself He closed his eyes, he breathed under the water, held his fist hard, and hit the wall in front of him. The crystal broke.
But as the crystal fell, the figure of a woman appeared in front of him. He didn't know her. At all. She was dauntless, but he had been staring at her far too long. Clarissa. He knew her, she was from one of the other factions. She was once near his family when she was sixteen. Days before the initiation began. Days before she left her faction and joined the dauntless.
But he had been always interested in her. He was never too selfless, he was obsessed with girls even at 7 years old. Always attracted in ways he feared accepting. He had grown in love with the idea of said woman for far too long
And now she was on the same faction he was in. and she was in tat room. Standing in front of him. Standing right there. Until the floor beneath her broke, like the rocks on a cliff after the hit of several high waves. She held to the rim, her fingers were sliping.
He run. He run and held her hand. Or tried to. But once he was there. She fell. And she was falling. And falling. Like time wasn't running. Her arms shaking in the air. The fear on her eyes. She didn't want to die. This isn't real. He told to himself. This isn't real. He closed his eyes, fear vanishing as he observed her falling. He threw himself off the cliff, and took her by the waist.
He woke up later.
"How did you broke the crystal? and what? What have just...?"
"What?"
"you've been there only 4 minutes... Go."
Stephen shook his head. He screwed it up again. Divergent. Fuck, he had to be one of them, didn't he?
But it didn't last long. It was the last fear what hit him. He feared losing her. And now they were on the same faction. She could fell in any stupid jump. Any reckless act. She could die. and he'd be lost.
But I don't even know her! God, help me. I'm more of a fool than I thought.
