[connectedspace] Khaos: “Hey you’re reading a book that’s like… about words right? That’s wild. Wouldn’t it be faster if you just tore the pages out and ate them so you could learn all the words? I mean, they say that’s how you absorb knowledge right?” She plops near the Eternatus, eyes burning as she asked her question “Reading it just seems kinda slow”

“B-But, I CAn’T EAT iT! THiS FoRm DOeS NOT HAvE A MoUth AnD mY OThEr IS Too BIG fOr ThIs BuILDinG…”

“PLeAsE cOnSUmE IT FOR me!”

After a moment, realization strikes. He stares at the book skeptically before plopping down, “W-wAit…”

“My APOloGies… I WiLl GeT BaCk TO ReAdIng BeForE I MakE A FURTHER FOOl of mySELf. ThANk You FOR yoUR OFfEr, BUT… It iS ProBably BeSt I Do It MySelf.”

He goes back to his cushion, curling up and clearly embarrassed.

Chase grinned. "I'll probably head outside for a bit to try some s'mores, and then I'm gonna go to the roof and do some stargazing! As for dancing?” He let out a nervous chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head. “Well, I think I’m only going to watch others dance, if there are still mons doing that by the time I get there. I’m not too great at it.”

(tempest-waves) Chase @ Appos: Chase approached the Typevee with a bit of hesitation, though his tail wagged slowly back and forth in excitement at seeing a hybrid. "Hi there!" he said, a small smile on his face. "I hope this isn't a weird question, but what's been your favorite thing to do at this sleepover so far?"

"It's not so fun when you get caught up in it though."

(tempest-waves) Chase @ Amber: Chase walks up to Amber, a smile on his face. "Hey there! It's cool to see another Fighting type here." He looks around. "Are you having fun at the sleepover? I haven't had a chance to do much yet, but it seems like a pretty cool place!"

Amber: Amber faces the Riolu "Oh hi! Yeah I've been having a good time here! I really only joined this sleepover to get a break from my training but I've met so many people and its been super fun!" Amber smiled. "I'm Amber by the way." (@tempest-waves)

(Shaymincafe) ShayingStar@Chase: Well hey there! Hope you’re having a good time so far. Have you been stargazing yet? Do you have a favorite constellation?

(Chase: “Not yet, but I really want to!”)

Chase chuckled. “I didn’t even think about doing that before I came here, but now it’s one of the things I want to do the most! I always loved looking up at the stars where I used to live, and honestly I still kinda do since I’ve been traveling a lot recently, but actually taking the time to really look at them without having to think about other things? That sounds like it’s gonna be fun!”

He paused and tilted his head, a light frown on his face. “I don’t really know enough to say I have a favorite constellation, though... I mean, I know about some of them, yeah, but there’s still so many I haven’t ever heard of!” He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “Sorry if that’s a boring answer.”

A fuzzy Riolu with raccoon-like pattern pokes his head in through the open door of the library, a huge smile on his face. Giddy with excitement, he quickly steps in, his head swiveling this way and that as he takes in all that there is to see.

Chase: This place is HUGE!

He claps a paw over his mouth, suddenly remember that he probably shouldn’t be that loud. He may not have been in a library like this one before, or at a slumber party for that matter, but he did know enough to hope he didn’t wake up anyone with his outburst.

Chase: Eh heh... whoops.

He looks around once more, his energy a bit less prominent than before, then heads toward the back of the first floor. It was a library after all, may as well start with some reading!

Chase will be wandering around the library, starting with the bookshelves. His ref has been unlocked!

Dang this took like two weeks longer to finish than expected. Work kicked up right as August started, so that combined with drawing this in a style I haven’t before (and probably won’t again, at least for the time being) means that the month’s over halfway through.

But! Chase is here now, finally! Answers and responses will unfortunately have to be mostly text because I want to be able to interact with others as much as possible, but man I am still so excited about this event. And I’ll be sending asks out and making my own separate post for if anyone else wants an ask from Chase later today, once I’m not as busy!

Aria stops walking, ears perking up as they listen to Twig. A small smile finds its way to their face as they turn to face him, though a bit of concern does flash across it when they see the scars across his nose and the tears in his ear.

"Yeah. It may have been a bit since I last used it, but... this little bag still means a whole lot to me." They sit and look down at the bag resting against their side.

They look up at Twig, their smile growing a bit wider.

"But hey, for what it's worth, I think yours looks really nice, too. I like the pattern on it!"

They tilt their head a bit. "How about you? Do you mind if I ask where you got yours?"

Zhu Li @Chase: It was his fur pattern that caught her eye first. She goes over to him, staring. "What's with your fur?"

Chase: It’s because of my parents!

"My dad’s a Lucario and my mom is a Linoone! Most of my coloration is thanks to my mom - and my ears and tail, too! - but I actually got the ruff and fuzzy aura sensors from my dad!” A pause. “And the whole ‘being a Riolu’ thing,” he says with a chuckle.

He tilts his head as he takes a closer look at the Fennivy. “What about you, though?” he asks, curiosity evident in his voice. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mon like you before.”
