This is an OC from a project I've been slowly drafting for yearsss. Maybe someday you'll get to see it. It's a JRPG idea about a prince in the post-apocalypse and he learns to time travel, I guess it's kind of like Chrono Trigger, and he has to fight against totalitarian wizards. It's part of a wider project, with a few stories set in the same world. I guess I'm very ambitious haha. Might as well share.
Temporum is the small godling of seasons, he’s considered a lesser god and his role, of course, is to change seasons. He has a unique appearance every season and his appearance changing is how he can tell when it is time to change a season with his magic. He is able to control the weather, make plants grow/die and control the temperature. He can also shapeshift into a bird, allowing him to move swiftly and blend into the forest as he is a very solitary godling. He occasionally appears to play with other children but he is a little nervous of being seen by the adults, he does want to socialise with the adults, but he’s still a bit too nervous to approach them. He’s so well hidden in the forest of his world that he is often considered a cryptid and no one is quite sure if he exists or not. His soul seems to mimic wind chime sounds occasionally, which to the villagers of his world, is a sign that he is around.
Depending on the season, Temp can be found doing various activities in the forest, such as making now angels and snowmen, jumping in piles of leaves, rolling in grass, making flower crowns and climbing trees. Sometimes he can also be seen talking to the forest animals as he can communicate with them. Due to him spending most of his time around animals, he will not eat meat, but he will still consume cheese, milk and on rare occasions, eggs and fish (Fish is more of a thing he does if he’s gone months without being able to get enough protein) . Though most of the time he eats fruits and vegetables.
Temp is ageless because he is a godling, but he is locked at the age of 8 and so he will forever be a child, villagers often call him the child of the forest or forest’s child because of this.
Through the years, Temp has accidentally created numerous holidays for the villagers, such as christmas and easter, which otherwise would not exist there. How he did it was the villagers, wanting to actually see if he was real, left treats out for him in the winter, he then left gifts in their homes while they were sleeping as a thank you. And in spring, he got bored and decided to hide small treats for the villager children, who went out to find them all. Later the children of the village told their parents about it and it just became a tradition to do little easter-like hunts for treats.
Temp is also really really smart. He may look like a child, but he has the mind of an adult, naturally, because he’s lived for centuries. Though he still does act like a child when he is around other children, or to deter people from being violent towards him. But he most definitely can have a full on conversation with other adults that holds a high amount of intelligence.
