Has Ethazoid broken any ground in finding out what Minion's big secret is?

This particular assignment had... mixed results. Minion had no formal training to resist mental incursions, but he did have years of repression and stubbornness that Ethazoid had to break down, one at a time. Both operatives spent months in the interrogation room, slowly revealing the truths Minion had witnessed.

Minion knew of the Brotherhood’s raid on Artakha, and planned to leave during the Toa Hagah’s rebellion. He knew of the Visorak’s origins and their role in assaulting many of my Dark Hunters’ homes. Most damningly, Minion knew about Makuta’s plan, and his ultimate goal of overthrowing Mata Nui.

I ordered Ethazoid to probe further, in the hopes of learning the Brotherhood’s knowledge for use with Kojol’s viruses. He pushed himself beyond the normal limits of a Toa of Psionics, peeling back layers of resistance. Finally, Minion relented, opened his mouth, and spoke: “Tren Krom.” I’ve reviewed the tapes; his tone sounds like a warning, and clearly communicates he will say no more.

Ethazoid kept going. He had an assignment, to find the truth, and he found it.

Minion was released from the interrogation chamber shortly after, and returned to active duty. I assigned Tenaculum to Ethazoid’s infirmary bed, to monitor him for any signs of motion or mental activity. So far, no reports.

Tenaculum, Bone Brush and Catlin?

Tricky one! When the Toa came, Tenaculum surrendered immediately, explaining he was a medic and noncombatant. The Toa took him into their custody to await his trial in Metru Nui. He expected to be pardoned in exchange for providing his medical knowledge to the Empire. Instead, however, he was tried alongside the other Dark Hunters, declared complicit in crimes against the universe, and publicly executed. Never gamble on the Empire’s mercy.

On Odina, Bone Brush took up an axe and helped fight back against the Toa, guarding the infirmary. He was quickly killed by the Toa, but he bought time for Catlin to escape the island. Upon landing, she cut ties with all former Dark Hunters and, for the second time, built an entirely new life for herself. No one can say for sure where she went, but Ancient might have some idea.

Dark Hunters: Thane

Thane’s previous employer was the Brotherhood of Makuta. He worked as an assistant in their Rahi creation labs, where his powers came in handy for containing and controlling their experiments. I have heard whispers that he helped to design the Heart of the Visorak, although these rumors are unconfirmed. He left the Brotherhood when he got wind of their plan to overthrow the Great Spirit, and found the welcoming arms of the Dark Hunters.

Now he serves me as a technician in my weapons laboratory, with a specialization in biohazards and chemical warfare. On most of his projects, he works closely with Tenaculum, who provides extensive knowledge of biomechanical biology and its weaknesses. Together, they have created concoctions that doomed entire islands in the hands of my operatives.

During the war with the Brotherhood of Makuta, Thane was an invaluable asset. His many centuries with the Brotherhood gave him insider knowledge about their abilities and weaknesses, and he was able to develop several potent anti-Makuta weapons and artifacts.

POWERS: Thane has the powers of Rahi Control and Insect Control, which allow him to control both large beasts and swarms of smaller creatures. His diaphanous wings allow him limited flight, although it consumes much of his energy, and he cannot fly very far or fast.

STATUS: Active. Thane is perhaps the most important operative on my payroll, as he is the only employee who knows of the viruses I possess. He used his experience with the Brotherhood to identify and analyze the viruses, allowing me to incorporate them into my plans. When the work is done, I may have to dispose of Thane as I did Ancient. The idea is saddening, but it is made up for by the victory I will achieve with the viruses.
