you wake up because something warm is holding you in place. for a second you’re too sleepy to figure out what it is, until you feel a lazy hand spread across your waist and the steady rise and fall of someone else’s breathing against the back of your neck.
behind you, ran is still asleep, face buried into your shoulder, one leg thrown carelessly over yours. his hair brushes your cheek every time he breathes, impossibly soft, and every now and then his fingers twitch against your side as if he’s dreaming. you try to shift just enough to get comfortable but his grip tightens instantly.
“don’t,” he murmurs, voice barely above a whisper.
"ran, lemme go" you try to squeak your way out of his grasp.
he hums in disagreement, eyes still closed, and nudges even closer until there’s practically no room left between you. the blanket slips down around your shoulders, so he reaches for it without looking and drags it back over both of you, making sure you’re covered before settling again.
ran presses a sleepy kiss to the top of your head and sighs contentedly. “nah, it’s too early.” he says it like it’s obvious, like the world can wait another hour because the bed is warm and you’re here. you glance toward the clock on the nightstand. it's almost afternoon.
his thumb traces absent circles against your side, slow enough that it almost lulls you back to sleep. when you roll over to face him, he finally opens one eye.
“hello, pretty,” he says quietly. his hair is sticking out in every direction, sleep still heavy in his expression, and he doesn’t seem to care in the slightest. he tucks a strand of yours behind your ear before letting his hand rest against your cheek, studying you.
"hello to you too, sleepyhead"
he only smiles at your response and pulls you into his chest.
the mattress dips as he shifts, wrapping both arms around you until your forehead is tucked beneath his chin. you can hear the slow rhythm of his heartbeat, feel the quiet vibration when he laughs under his breath because your cold hands sneak beneath the fabric of his shirt.
ran stares at you for a minute, the sun shining on your face, making you look dreamy in his eyes. he pushes a strand of your hair behind your ear and gently brushes his thumb across your cheek. he slowly leans in for a kiss. your mouth parts at the contact as he softly plants his lips on yours.
the kiss starts to deepen - your breath coming faster. ran's hand slides down your back, pulling you closer until there is no space left between you. his lips become bolder, more insistent, as he tilts his head to feel you closer. ran’s hands are everywhere - fingers trembling slightly as they grip your waist, slide up your back under the thin fabric of your shirt.
his mouth crashes into yours again and again - kissing you hard now, desperate and hungry like he hasn’t kissed you in years. every breath is shared between frantic presses of lips. his tongue slips past yours, warm and insistent. a soft gasp escapes you; he chases your lips with another deep kiss.
he rolls onto his back without breaking contact, pulling you on top of him so tightly there’s no space. one hand tangles fiercely in your hair while the other grips the curve at the small of your back.
ran’s breath comes in short, hot puffs against your lips as the kiss grows messier, urgent. his hands roam with need: one sliding up under your shirt to trace the bare skin of your spine, sending shivers through both of you; the other gripping hard at your waist
he kisses you like a starved man - lips moving fast and wet. every time his tongue meets yours, it sparks a jolt straight to his chest and he groans low in his throat without thinking. his hips lift slightly off the bed on instinct when you shift above him, pressing closer, chasing friction.
the movement starts small - just the subtle roll of ran’s hips up into yours, testing. but with a quiet whimper muffled by your kiss, he grinds against you again, slower and harder this time. the heat between you builds fast; both still fully clothed but feeling everything through layers of fabric.
you break the kiss only to gasp for air but he immediately dives back in, mouth crashing onto yours as his body moves beneath you, rhythmic, desperately humping through the clothes. every shift sends sparks through his nerves. ran loses himself in the sensation, each roll of his hips sending waves of heat through him.
ran kisses you wildly, lips slick and parted, teeth grazing your bottom lip by accident before he soothes it with another deep kiss. every movement becomes instinct: grind up into you, chase the pressure.
his breathing is ragged - chest rising fast under yours. a soft whine escapes your lips when the friction hits just right. ran's hand slips down to squeeze your thigh before spreading it wider around his waist, opening space for even deeper contact.
suddenly the door swings open with a loud thud - no knock, no warning. sanzu steps in, grinning like an idiot until he sees you two - ran beneath you, both flushed and breathless, lips swollen from kissing, clothes rumpled - the air thick with tension.
his smile drops instantly. “oh-"
“get the fuck out” ran threatens immediately - voice raw and furious. he jerks back so fast it nearly throws you off him. he’s red-faced, not just from embarrassment but pure rage at being interrupted right then. sanzu blinks rapidly as ran grabs the nearest pillow and hurls it across the room at his head.
“fuck's sake!"
your face burns instantly, cheeks flushing deep red. you’re still half-straddling ran, your lips tingling from the kiss that just got interrupted, heart pounding, eyes darting to sanzu who immediately starts backing out of the room with both hands up.
“sorry, sweetheart" ran drawls, voice dripping with fake innocence. his hands slide down your sides now, not tender like before but ticklish. he shifts smoothly - rolling over you in one fluid motion until he’s hovering above. instead of kissing you, he gently lowers himself until his head comes to rest right on your chest, just above your heart.
you can feel his warmth through both layers of clothes. his hair tickles your chin slightly as it spills over the pillow beside you. ran sighs and nuzzles into the curve between your collarbone and shoulder, claiming his favorite spot.
his arms slip around your waist loosely, perfectly comfortable with silence. a soft chuckle rumbles from his chest as he squeezes you slightly. you bury your face into him instantly to hide how flustered that made you but it only makes ran laugh again.
you just stay there, tangled together beneath the blankets while the morning drifts by unnoticed, ran absentmindedly brushing his fingers through your hair every few seconds as if making sure you’re still real, every so often squeezing you a little tighter whenever you shift, never quite ready to let go.
Contains: cursing, fighting, blood, crimes, shoplifting, smoking, petty crimes, beating gender norms, pickpocketing, and gang activity
A/N: Sukeban is a Japanese term for a "delinquent girl" or the leader/members of all-female youth gangs that emerged in 1960s Japan, known for rebelling against gender norms through unique fashion (like modified school uniforms, messy hair, thin eyebrows) and solidarity, protesting societal expectations.
Summary: Sukeban were supposed to be a thing of the past girl gangs that had vanished after their peak decades ago. That was why it came as such a shock when the two of them turned the corner and found you standing with a group of sukeban girls, laughing as chains and bats came crashing down on some gang members from roppongi, guys who were beaten black and blue.
They weren’t meant to exist anymore, yet here you were proof that the legends hadn’t died after all. You noticed them staring and flashed a sharp grin, tightening your grip on the chain before slamming it against the wall. The metallic clang echoed through the alley, loud and deliberate, sending a clear message that this was your groups territory now ⟡ ݁₊ .๋࣭

━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Sukebans were all-female teenage gangs that appeared in Japan during the 1960s and 70s. The name, created by police, roughly means “delinquent girl.” These girls pushed back against strict gender roles and expectations placed on young women in a male-dominated society
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ They became known for modifying their school uniforms, sticking together as tight-knit groups, and refusing to behave the way society expected them to. While sukeban were involved in fights and petty crime, their rebellion was also about proving that being tough, independent, and female weren’t opposites, and you made that known by gang members of Roppongi
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Roppongi wasn’t supposed to change or have a new gang that challenged to gain territory in the span of a couple of days because Roppongi belonged to the Haitani brothers. It had belonged to them for years, even after prison, even after the city tried to pretend they were gone and it would keep belonging to them for as long as they walked its streets without fear
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ So when rumors started crawling through clubs and alleyways about an old gang resurfacing something people swore had died decades ago Ran had laughed it off. “A new gang?” he’d said, voice lazy, amused, smoke curling from the corner of his mouth. “In our district?” Rindou hadn’t laughed. He slowed his steps instead, fingers lifting to adjust his glasses, violet eyes sharpening with focus. “They say the guys from Roppongi South didn’t even get a chance to fight back.”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ That night, they took a shortcut through the backstreets narrow alleys soaked in neon light and old grime fresh off shaking down a few idiots who thought they could try challenge the two. The city was quieter here, the kind of quiet that swallowed screams before they reached the street.
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ That was when they saw the bodies. Men lay scattered across the alley like discarded trash groaning, coughing blood, clutching broken ribs and shattered pride. A baseball bat lay snapped clean in half. Chains dragged dark red streaks across cracked concrete. One guy tried to crawl away when he noticed them, fingers scraping uselessly against the ground before his strength gave out and he collapsed with a choked whimper
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Ran stopped walking “Well,” he hummed, lips curling into a smile. “Someone had fun.”His foot nudging the body as the sound of girls laughing was heard. Loud and rough. The Haitani brothers turned the corner, and saw a figure of a girl who stood at the center of it all
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Your long skirt brushed against heavy boots, sleeves rolled high enough to expose bruised knuckles and fresh blood smeared across your skin. A face mask hid your mouth, but not your eyes dark, calculating, locking onto them the instant you realized they weren’t just more gang trash. Around you, girls moved like a storm
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Chains swung with practiced ease. Bats cracked down without hesitation. Boots slammed into already broken bodies until the alley echoed with pain and impact. One of the men screamed causing you to laugh as you lifted the chain in your hand and slammed it against the wall. The metallic clang rang through the alley, loud and deliberate, cutting through everything else. The girls slowed stopping their harsh assault of violence. Every ounce of attention shifted to you
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ “This is our turf,” you snapped, voice rough, commanding kicking the male body by your feet to the wall “So you better not come back or else we're gonna be snappin necks” Ran tilted his head, eyes sparkling with unmistakable interest, like he’d stumbled onto something rare while Rindou’s gaze swept over the scene the modified uniforms, the weapons hidden beneath fabric, the absolute lack of hesitation in every movement as his jaw tightened "Sukeban" Rindou muttered letting out a sigh
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Ran, on the other hand, looked delighted “Well,” he said lightly, hands sliding into his pockets as he took a step forward, unbothered by the blood on the ground or the weapons in reach. “Didn’t think tonight would get interesting.” Your eyes tracked him instantly
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ You side eyed them gripping onto the chain, the girls behind you shifted as one, chains tightening, grips adjusting. They didn’t move unless you did. Rindou noticed that. Hierarchy, and that you were on top of it all. Ran stopped just short of crossing an invisible line. His smile didn’t fade, but something sharper flickered beneath it curiosity possibly or more
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ “You’re making a lot of noise for someone new,” he said. You met his gaze without blinking “Ain’t our fault,” you replied. “We don’t need to be quiet for some stupid shit even at night” The alley went still for a moment, it felt like the city itself was holding its breath, waiting to see who would step forward first
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Then you turned away just like that. You slung the chain over your shoulder and walked past the wreckage, your girls falling in behind you without a word. Boots crunched over broken glass. Laughter rose again, quieter now, satisfied. You didn’t look back
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Ran watched until you and the girls following behind disappeared into the neon glow, his grin slow and dangerous “…Yeah,” he murmured. “She’s trouble.” Rindou exhaled through his nose, eyes lingering on the bloodstained concrete and the bodies left behind. “This isn’t over,” he said flatly. “They didn’t come back for nothing.” Ran chuckled, turning to follow him out of the alley to go a different way instead of the shortcut they usually went through “Good.”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ After that night, the Haitani brothers started seeing you everywhere. Not close enough to corner but never far enough to miss
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Sometimes you were perched on a rusted railing behind a club, cigarette balanced between your fingers like the world hadn’t moved past the seventies. Girls clustered around you laughing, swearing, patching each other up with practiced hands. You watched over them with sharp eyes and an easy authority, exhaling smoke like it belonged to you
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Other times, you were quieter. Adjusting a torn sleeve. Retightening a tie. Cleaning blood from someone else’s knuckles with a gentleness that didn’t match the reputation spreading through Roppongi like wildfire and every single time you noticed them first
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Your gaze would lift, lock onto Ran’s, and you’d smirk beneath your mask. Sometimes you waved, slow and mocking. Sometimes you just tilted your head, like you were daring him to try something, but Ran adored it “She’s cute,” he said once, watching you snap your lighter shut with practiced ease. “Got bite.” Rindou scoffed, arms crossed. “She’s a pain in the ass.” Ran glanced at him, amused. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” “She’s stirring shit in Roppongi.” Ran shrugged. “So do we.”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ By then, running into them had stopped feeling like a coincidence. You were halfway down an aisle when you felt it again that prickle between your shoulders, the sense of being watched by someone who knew exactly what you were doing. The store smelled like cheap perfume and detergent, fluorescent lights buzzing overhead. You didn’t look up. You didn’t need to
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ You slid the pack of cigarettes into your sleeve with practiced ease “Careful,” Ran’s voice drifted from beside you, amused and lazy. “Camera’s angled wrong over there.” your hand stilled for half a second then you glanced sideways
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ He was pretending to browse, one hand tucked into his pocket, eyes half-lidded like this was the most normal thing in the world. When you didn’t say anything, he reached out and casually picked up a candy bar, blocking the camera’s view as he leaned in just enough “There,” he murmured. “You’re good.” you snorted under your breath. “Didn’t ask for help.” “Didn’t say you did.” He smiled, sharp and pleased with himself
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ “But it’d be a shame if you got caught.” your eyes glanced towards the register, the clerk barely looked up too bored and underpaid to care. You couldn't help but click your tongue placing the pack back and walking off. Ran paid for his candy, then without breaking stride dropped the cigarettes you put back into your hands as you walked past him leaving the convenience store with packet of pocky you bought
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ “On me,” Ran said lightly, stepping outside with you. You paused just past the door, smoke already between your fingers. You exhaled slowly, then looked at him. “You always stick your nose where it doesn’t belong?” Ran laughed, hands in his pockets. “Only when I’m interested.” you rolled your eyes but you didn’t hand the cigarettes back and took out the cigarette flipped upside down holding it up to Ran’s lip “Make a wish” the males violet eyes shining “oh?” Ran smirked and did a fake blow in the cigarette as you flipped it over, and placed it inbetween your lips side eyeing him "What? I was doing a favour in return" "Nothing" Ran shrugged as you scoffed walking off leaving Ran by himself
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ Rindou was different. You found him weeks later in the same convenience store, tucked into the far corner aisle like he belonged there, glasses pushed up his nose as he stared at rows of boxed hair dye with visible irritation. The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, washing everything in dull white as the refrigerators hummed behind you
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ You stopped short when you spotted him there, brow lifting slightly. “…You serious?” you asked, tone flat. He glanced at you, unimpressed, then back to the shelf. “What?” You gestured vaguely at the wall of color. “You. Standing here about to read ingredients.” Rindou scoffed quietly. “Says the one who’s been staring at the same box for five minutes.” You clicked your tongue and turned back to the shelf. “They’re all trash. Half of these fry your hair.” “That one’s worse,” he said immediately, nudging a box aside with two fingers. “Too much ammonia.” You blinked, genuinely caught off guard. “You dye your hair once and suddenly you’re an expert?” “I bleach it,” he corrected without looking at you. “There’s a difference.”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ You picked up another box and held it out between you. “This one?” “Cheap brand. Fades fast.” You shot him a glare, and he met it without flinching, expression flat and unreadable. “…You’re annoying,” you muttered. “And you’re stubborn,” he replied evenly. He stepped closer, reaching past you to grab a darker shade, close enough that you could smell soap and smoke on him, and shoved the box into your hands. “That’ll hold better. Less damage.” You hesitated, fingers curling around the cardboard before glancing up at him. “How long you’ve been doing your hair?” He shrugged slightly. “Since I was younger. Ran started the idea.” A small snort slipped out of you as you looked back down at the box, then you tossed it into your basket anyway. “Figures... your hair’s deepfried as shit" Rindou side-eyed you, eye twitching as you picked out a conditioning bottle, placing it in his hands
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ At the counter, Rindou added a box of blue dye to the pile without comment, barely sparing it a glance as the clerk scanned the items with bored efficiency
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️♬⋆.˚⊹ Outside, the night air felt cooler against your skin as Rindou tucked the bag under his arm and glanced at you sideways. “Don’t mess it up,” he said. You snickered behind your mask. “Worried about me?” He scoffed, looking away. “No. Worried you’ll blame me for that shit” You snickered for a moment neither of you said anything as you took the bag from the worker and stepped back into the street, the silence between you settling into something unfamiliar but oddly comfortable
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ The Haitani brothers soon started showing up more often after that. Not exactly starting a fight they were just… there. Ran would light your cigarette without asking, flicking his lighter that he brought around now and shut it with a grin when you took the first drag and on purpose blew smoke at his face to get a reaction that would usually fail
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Rindou would be closer than he let on, eyes always scanning the street, correcting your stance without touching when a fight loomed. “Your guard’s open,” he muttered once. You adjusted without comment, knocking a guy flat seconds later. Rindou huffed. “Tch. See?”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Ran likes to find himself enjoying watching you fight like you’ve got nothing to lose, bottles smashed, elbows driven in, skirts stained dark with blood that isn’t yours. He watches you with that amused, lazy smile, like the violence you cause is entertainment
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ When you continue to shoplift, he doesn’t ask what you’re taking or why. He just distracts whoever needs distracting, lets you slip whatever you want into your sleeves or waistband, and laughs when you walk out clean. He never tells you to calm down, never tells you to watch your mouth or your temper. That’s why you don’t snap at him like you do everyone else. He treats you like a loaded weapon dangerous, useful, and worth respecting
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ Rindou is different. He doesn’t watch you like a show; he watches you like a fighter. He notices how you move, how you don’t hesitate to go for joints, throats, weak points and somehow he always nit picks it
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ If someone laughs and calls you the Haitani's girl or assumes you’re tagging along, Rindou shuts it down immediately, blunt and sharp. He makes it clear you’re not lesser or even a item. You’re your own threat but sometimes he steps back as you beat the shit out of someone close to breaking joints, asking them to speak louder than when they are bitching
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ They still knew exactly what you were. A sukeban a gorl who broke rules and gender norms with the same casual ease she broke noses, you laughed too loud, and fought dirty just like the other girls from your group
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ One night, after a scuffle that left blood on Ran’s knuckles and a new tear in your uniform, the three of you sat on a rooftop overlooking neon-lit streets. You leaned back on your hands, chain coiled at your side, mask tugged loose just enough to breathe. “You know,” Ran said, staring at the skyline, “people keep asking us when we're gonna make you an enemy.” You snorted. “You could try.” Rindou scoffed. “We're not that stupid.” Ran grinned. “Nah. Enemies are predictable.” He glanced at you, eyes bright. “Friends are way more interesting.”
━━━ .°˖✧🏍️⋆.˚⊹ You didn’t answer right away. Just laughed, sharp and fearless, pulling your mask back into place as you stood. “Don’t get distracted,” you said. “I’m still a problem.” Rindou stood too, cracking his neck “Good,” he replied. “So are we.” A grin appeared on your face as you spoke “Lets get icecream” “OH MY GOD YES” Ran grinned ignoring how Rindou face palmed

Description: The reader can't sleep because the Tenjiku members are being far too loud.
You had tried so hard all night not to disturb your boyfriend and his friends as they celebrated their recent successes in your lounge room, but as your eyes fluttered open for the fifth time that night, you knew you had to go and ask them to be just a tad quieter. Of course, you felt terrible because Rindou was being so considerate already. You couldn’t even hear the crappy rap music they were playing, just the echo of the bass through the walls, and both of the times that you were woken up by their chatter you heard Rindou frantically scrambling to hush them.
With a yawn and a small stretch, you pulled your throw blanket over your shoulders and shuffled across the carpet until you found your ugg boots in the complete and utter darkness. After a pained “fuck” slipped past your lips as you hit your knee on the edge of your bedframe, you slowly opened the door and stepped out into the lounge room.
It wouldn’t have taken more than a second before the boys noticed your meek, sleep-deprived frame cringing at the power of the lights while your eyes took their time to adjust. Most of them were strung out across the three grey couches in front of the television which was tuned into an MMA fight on mute, while the younger members (that Kisaki kid, his friend Hanma, Kokonoi, and Sanzu) were awkwardly sitting around the dining table behind them. Madarame offered you a short wave to which you responded with a tired frown, then you finally caught sight of Rindou sitting in the corner of the middle couch with his hand outstretched towards you.
“Rinnie…” You whined as you made your way into his lap with his arm lazily draped over your waist. Ran, your brother-in-law for all intents and purposes, snickered at the nickname, and the tone of your voice which was laden with exhaustion.
“Sorry, did we wake you up?” Rindou asked quietly, and then turned to the rest of the group, “I told these fuckwits to keep it down.”
Rindou wasn’t ignorant of the fact that you were wearing nothing but his shirt as pyjamas, and he knew well from the night’s earlier — and more private — events that your underwear were the barely-there kind. So, he was cautious to make sure that one of his hands was sitting firmly under your bum at all times, holding the shirt against your skin.
“If you guys stayed quiet I would’ve made you pancakes for breakfast as thanks,” you teased. Mocchi’s shoulders tensed in clear disappointment at your words. While all of them were fond of your cooking, Mocchi was always the biggest eater.
You pressed your lips against Rindou’s neck while they continued their discussion. His voice vibrated into each kiss you bestowed upon his neck and collarbone with a kind of intimacy that made you feel as though you were melting into one another. After a while of this, you began to doze off, your mind stuck in the in-between state of being oddly aware of everything around you, but not quite awake.
Rindou took one glance at the state of you, nearly asleep despite the volume of the room, and hooked his arms under your thighs to carry you back to the bed you shared. He folded the throw neatly at the end of the mattress, then placed you down on your preferred side, and admired the irritated look on your face which was made possible to see by the slightly open door.
As he made a movement to leave and rejoin his friends in the lounge room, you groaned, grabbed the cuff of his shirt, and pulled him back towards you. He was much stronger than you, strong enough not to be even slightly moved by your pull, but he was never the kind of boyfriend to fight your affection. He knelt down on the floor beside you with his hand rubbing circles on your cheek, already feeling terrible about how you couldn’t get to sleep because of him and his friends.
“What’s wrong, N/n?” He said lovingly.
“Come to bed. It’s cold. I want you in here with me.” You saw how Rindou’s eyes flicked back to the light emanating from the doorway, so you pouted in the sexiest way you could given how tired you were. “I’ll make it worth your while.”
The sleeve of the shirt you were wearing had — at some point, unbeknownst to you — fallen from your shoulder to reveal the lacy strap of a new bra Rindou had bought you. It reminded him of your underwear. Of how nice it felt to take them off earlier…
“You’re too tired for any of that, babe. Just go to bed, and I’ll come join you in no time, promise,” he said as he shook the images from his mind, knowing you were one blink away from falling asleep again.
“You hate me,” you huffed, and turned away from your boyfriend before adding, “You’re just gonna end up passing out on the couch like you do every time they come here. I’m gonna wake up all alone. You’re such a bad boyfriend.”
Rindou smiled softly, “Are you trying to guilt-trip me right now?” You turned back to make eye contact with him and nodded. “Fine.”
For a moment, he disappeared into the lounge room. You could hear Ran making fun of him for being “absolutely whipped”, and Izana telling him to “man up”, but you were already beginning to feel your eyelids getting heavier, so you didn’t care much to go out and defend him. When he returned, he took off his shirt and pulled on a pair of trackpants, and then crawled into bed beside you.
Content to have gotten all you wanted from Rindou, you traced the tattoos on his torso until you were so exhausted you could no longer hold your hand up.
“I will make it worth your while,” you yawned as you rested your head on his chest and let him run his hands over your hair, “Just… In the morning when I’m rejuvenated.”
You closed your eyes and Rindou felt your heartrate slow down along with the frequency of your breaths. You were snoring ever-so-gently, and he stifled a laugh at the irony of the fact that he wouldn’t be able to get even a second of sleep because of it.
rindou x reader: pure fluff, likes & reblogs are appreciated!
distance makes the heart grow fonder — in the excruciating six months rindou’s been in juvie, he realises how true that is.
a part of him wants to blame the lack of fun or entertainment or any sort of proper facility in the rehabilitation center — a few hours a day at the courtyard where he practically just sits around, do some weight training whilst his brother socialises enough for the both of them, probably to garner another spot and connection. and another hour three times a day to eat bland and tasteless food that makes him truly rethink his delinquent life as he shoves soaking white rice that tastes like the water it was cooked in, or the chicken that definitely has been microwaved after being left out for multiple days straight. and then right after, its night time, lights off as he’s forced to “rethink” and “reflect” in the creaky hard bed that he’s still not used to despite nearing the end of his sentence.
and in these six months, youre all he can think about.
perhaps he’s taken for granted beforehand: you and him have never been apart after all.
sat right next to each other since kindergarten, your world and his has always collided, practically merged in one. your home was simply a walk away from his, and your parents adored him strangely enough. a routine, in contrast to his messy life with his older brother, one that he strangely likes and in recent times, missed dearly though he would never verbally admit it to anyone but perhaps some god who’s reading his mind.
it was easy, never having to make much of an effort. every morning, he would eat breakfast straight from the fridge into the microwave, grab his bag and walk to the bus stop you two met up in, get on the bus and go to school — nothing special. but now, stuck in his cell as though he’s been banished from society, he misses everything about it: he misses your voice and laughter as you two switched between topics from your weekends and school gossips and new shop items to get, he misses the occasional songs you two would share with the old wired earphones still kept in his wallet abandoned in his room that would alternate between your favourite songs that he can practically hum in his head even now and his that vibrates in his ear with the electric guitar and beats that had you two nod your head as though in agreement, he misses the unintentional touches during those trips that felt like electric shocks whether it was form the bumpy bus ride that had you push against him whether you two were sitting down or not or the fingertip bumping against each other in the cramp bus.
and in some twisted way, he misses school too, strangely enough. in a way, it was the place that brought you two together, red strings practically tying you too as well as the teachers who sought you out as the solution to rindou’s troublemaker personality though really, you were just as bad (though at least you haven’t been in jail). he misses the school lunches you two ran, hand in hand, to queue up for — japanese curry rice with his favourite katsu chicken which spice level varied according to the cook’s mood that day, cold soba noodles that was practically bathed in ice that melt away at the burning heat of the world, that stupid french toast topped his honey and sugar that always ran out too quickly — and most importantly you who sat right in front of him without fail every break, as though you two were the only one in this world at the corner of the canteen that no one dared bothered the two of you. he misses the classrooms, sitting right next to you in all of them: he misses the secret whispers and written notes talking about the boring classes, unwrapped candies shoved into both of your mouths, books standing on the table so you could have a quick nap mid lesson, eyes connecting to yours as you two lay your heads on the wooden surface, your smile sweeter than the caramel that’s bursting in his mouth as he bites down on the candy to not say his real feelings. he misses each and every class skipped: hiding in an empty classroom or at the back of the cold and quiet library that contrasted with your warmth or finding another new corner added to his memory long abandoned but now kept alive by the two of you, your head on his shoulders as you two do your own things, playing games, listening to his new beats he made the night before (with you in mind), napping and daydreaming about what the future held for the two of you.
and more so, after school: where you two would practically travel the world — whether in the crowded city and town, walking and laughing on the streets with your bag carried by him, dashing in and out of the stores as you two hear the saleslady yell after you and the salesman sighing at the sight of you two, hands holding your favourite ice cream (that he never tells you tastes really bad in his humble opinion), sampling food and drinks and items at the grocery store as he pushes you on the cart for no reason other than to be a nuisance (that is successful, considering the pointed glares and whispers at the passerbys). each time was a new adventure: different shops and different antics, different bites of equally bad ice creams and treats that you love all the same, different conversation and different days, and yet no matter what, he misses them all. not because he likes those overly-covered chocolate ice cream that tastes way too strongly, or because he likes those terrible-looking shirts that he buys simply because it makes you laugh, or because he has nothing else better to do but simply because you were there. your smile that practically acts as his sun makes the ice cream and treats tastes truly sweet, one that makes his heart swell up and aches at the same time, your laughs that sounds like inspiration for his next remix and beats rings just right in his ears to have another atrociously ugly shirt sit in his closet hung up for you to see when you come over, your voice that sounds like a song that he can’t stop replaying makes every single hang out and time spent with you just so mesmerising and addictive.
rindou remembers the first time you fell sick and didn’t go to school: it was pure torture, no one to talk to through whispers and post it notes, no one to sit with him to enjoy the sandwich he got that was practically stale considering he didn’t have the motivation to rush down as he would with you. it was so miserable that he left mid school and went over, buying hot soup and medicine on the way at some overpriced place that was near yours so it would still but hot when he got there, taking care of you that seemed so unnatural and strange to him but felt just right as he sat beside you, watching your sleeping face, wiping away the snot at the corner of your nose and drool at the side of your mouth that was slightly dry and pale. and now it was pernament, or at least for this six months — and really, he has half a mind to attempt to break out of here, if not the fact that you would probably not enjoy having a convict at your house (really, he knows you might not mind, but that would really ruin the impression of him to your parents that he still might need their blessing for for the future, but he digresses)
and after a whole six months, rindou gets released from prison: and instead of going home to sleep in his soft bed and rest up like his brother, or going to the club where he knows people would be all over him considering he’s the new talk in town after beating the back then best gang leaders in roppongi, he walks straight to your house, wearing some sweater his brother got his friends to get the both of them for their release.
and it feels natural, as though its like home: pressing your doorbell as he’s done a million times — every weekend to ask you to hang out probably at his favourite arcade to play those rhythms games or dance machines or claw machines, once in a while when he gets up and early and can’t be bothered to wait in the silence at the bus stop, or simply when he’s bored (and misses you).
and after a full six months, he thinks you look even better than his memory can serve him.
”hey, i’m back. missed you.”
a honest response from him, slipped out of his mouth despite his blank expression (and pink tinted face). but he doesn’t mind it, not when the smile he misses and has to scratch the back of his brain in the cell to remember the shape of it, not when he can hear your smile that makes his world go quiet, only you and him in this life together, not when you pull him by his shirt that makes his half-lidded eyes go wide as he crashes onto you, you on the floor and him on top of you. and he can’t help but laugh too, your world and his merging once more, his hands tugging onto yours, as he pulls you in: its magnetic , its natural, and its like home.
distance really makes the heart fonder: on both side, rindou thinks — his practiced facade gone when he’s in your arms as though your plushies that sits the same on your bed when he goes up later, when youre here with him and fitting with him just right like a puzzle piece so much that he feels whole again.
and perhaps, just maybe, he has to get his act together and confess a little quicker: he’s sure you think the same too, when you peck his cheeks in affection, you and him laying on your bed, eyes magnetic to each other, talking as though you two have never been separated, as though you two weren’t just separated by the stupid metal gates and barbed wires of his juvie, as though you two were truly connected by the red string that grew oh so resistant to the tearing and pulling of both yours and his facades and hidden love that has long melted into the open.
Why is it so hard to find Mochi fics that actually focus on HIM and not other guys he's literally so buff and cute at the same time lowkey reminds me of a teddy bear
Anyway I keep thinking about how careful he'd probably be in relationships at first. Like he seems like the type to hesitate touching you too roughly bc he's aware of how big/strong he is and his hands are all rough and scarred compared to yours. He'd probably overthink simple stuff like grabbing your wrist too fast or hugging too tight
But once he gets comfortable and realizes you actually like physical affection he'd become way more cuddly than ppl expect like always pulling you closer, resting his weight on you, absentmindedly rubbing your back or playing with your hands while talking
Idc if this makes him ooc to some ppl let me have my giant teddy bear Mochi agenda 💕🎀
Chap 9 of the toman/tenjiku demon omegaverse story? Pwetty please with strawberry sauce on top?🥹🥹
Title: toman/tenjiku omegaverse
Chapter: nine
Fandom: Tokyo revengers
Pairing: toman x reader x Tenjiku
Genre: omegaverse
Warnings: fluff, Emma threatens to take their omega, cute, dates, Wakasa is done with their shit, Omega male reader, alpha toman, alpha tenjiku, Omega Emma
Notes:
Summary: the boys are given an ultimatum, get it together and come to a compromise or Shinichiro will take the Omega as his Platonic mate to help raise the trio of pups.
🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛🌜🌛
Emma kept the alphas on a tight leash, letting (name) actually have time to himself and rest while she handled things “it's the fact that you two miss the glaringly obviously solution to this” she said simply while sipping tea and the brothers looked confused and Emma sighed but continued “you guys need to make a sacrifice for him, a major one to prove you are serious... What if he can't choose? What will you do? You won't kill each other... Break my heart like that...” izana realized what she was implying and his blood ran cold.
“Are you suggesting... A treaty?”
“No, I'm suggesting a merger as the black dragons did with Brahman, merge clans to create a stronger one” Wakasa and Shinichiro did just that, marrying Emma and Senju who thankfully were already in love-- Yazuha was just a surprising extra to their pack “i don't want to be mates with my brother!” Mikey said disgusted and Emma smacked his head as she passed him, pacing the room “I'm not asking you to commit incest you freak! I'm staying that you two put your differences aside and share a mate” she hissed out and felt sorry for the Omega “if you can't figure out how to make this work for him, I'm sure Shinichiro will be more than happy to allow (name) to be the Dam to his pups”
That set a fire under their asses, both alphas glaring at her “absolutely not!” “Over my dead body!”
“Then get to drafting agreements!”
(Name) Was surprised that he found good company with an alpha, Wakasa chatting with him in the gardens while the spring air hit perfectly against his skin “I must say... This is the nicest interaction I had in months” (name) said but if he's been honest... It's been years. “its hard to find a confident when everyone sucks” wakasa said simply “I just wish things turned out differently but one supposes we can't dwell on the what ifs or what could have beens... We have to handle the here and now of it all”
Mikey and Izana hated seeing another alpha talk to their Omega “if we want him, we have to share” Mikey spat and Izana glared “if it was my way, you would be dead already” he spat back and Wakasa waved them over “you two done your little squabble” the elder always downplaying their emotions to piss them off “we... We have come to an agreement of sorts”
“Oh?”
“We are... Uniting Toman and Tenjiku” it felt disgusting saying that “we wish to court you... Formally, show you that our intentions aren't to have you as a breeding Omega in fancy clothes but to cherish you” (name) looked hesitant but he knew there wasn't many options “... fine, not like I get much say”
“On the contrary, Shinichiro has put into place that if they fail to court you that you will live here... As a platonic mate of sorts” wakasa said simply “give the pups an Omega to learn from, if you will”
“I see....” He looked at the two with a bored expression “you two better wow me then, show me that you aren't knot heads”
A flip of a coin was who got first date, Izana grinning when he won much to Mikey's annoyance, leader getting a date with the omega before a group date.
Though they couldn't leave the grounds.
Izana learned the omegas tendencies, he liked quiet and disregarded flashy displays so... He put together a picnic in the library, making sure the pups didn't interrupt them while leading (name) to it “we can enjoy food... Read historical texts and talk” he said and (name) Seemed interested in the books “many of this is in demonic history but there plenty of human history”
(Name) Touched the books and felt a zap, pulling away and Izana made a noise “I forgot the books are cursed against humans... Perhaps I shall read to you?” (name) nodded, a bit awkward and Izana pulled out the book of life and death, an angel and demon falling in love together.
And (name) was entranced, listening while resting on a table “is this true?”
“Yes, death is a demon king in the underworld... Funny enough, she is kinder than her husband” he teased “she understands humanity to a terrifying degree, she has seen the good and bad... Life only sees the start”
“That must be a burden”
“It can be, seeing humanity act the way it does”
“I know that well...”
“I... I am sorry about your village” Izana said softly and (name) shrugged “maybe one day they will see me beyond my secondary gender, maybe we can branch peace” he said, unaware that the demon before him killed half his village, murdered his parents without a second thought and Izana just smiled “perhaps one day”
“Is there a book you like?” Izana asked and (name) nodded “(book)” he said simply “my mother would read it to me as a pup, it was the best part of bedtime... Hearing her voice”
“I can imagine, Shin would read to Mikey and I as children... He read us stories of adventures and dragons...”
“That sounds nice, he's a good older brother”
“He is, do you have siblings?”
“Just one, Tetta... He hates me though” (name) thought bitterly and Izana frowned and (name) just smiled softly “it's alright, I moved on from it” he said and took a bite of fruit, looking out the window “so, what do you want from this? From me?”
“At first... I just saw you as an Omega, something to bring heirs but as I grew to know you, I found myself obsessed with hearing you speak and seeing you smile made my chest feel like it was in fire” Izanas words were true, his sunset eyes looking at (name) a little softer “I would do anything to preserve that smile, I hope one day it could be directed at me”
“That's quite the declaration” (name) mumbled and Izana hummed “it is but I stand by it”
The date was calm after that, enjoying treats and (name) grew to enjoy his company, Izana was gentle behind the horns.
He was curious to what Mikey would bring to the table.
warnings ❤️🔥: profanity. mention of the gang ICBM from tokyo revengers (honestly they were mentioned twice but that Hansen guy was so funny to me I had to shit on him). lowkey themes of like protectiveness and possessiveness (NOT DARK ROMANCE OK like they just get attached to reader a lil quick that's it). im pretty sure reader is referred to using female pronouns AND also referred to as y/n at times which is new for me actually hehe. Reader is a performer. There is an underground bike race involved. Also i know nothing about underground races so that's fun.
PART 2❤️🔥
--
"Come on, guys. Please. Please. PLEAAAAASEEEEEEE—"
Rindou Haitani is many things. A gangster ; one of the top in Roppongi. A killer gamer, complete with the proper nutritional deficiencies and optional hygiene. A wildly underrated DJ, if only the world would open its third eye and recognize true talent.
But above all else, Rindou Haitani is a younger sibling.
And that has given him the divine ability, the unholy confidence, and the relentless stamina to pester people until he gets exactly what he wants.
And what he wants right now is to drag all of Tenjiku to the annual Shibuya Underground Bike Race.
“Oh, come on, Izana,” Rindou groaned dramatically, draping himself over the nearest piece of furniture like a dying Victorian child. “We have the rest of our lives to sit in this crusty-ass warehouse, plot Mikey’s downfall, and pretend to be nonchalant. But the race only happens once a year!”
Izana was about 90% sure his eardrums had ruptured. He could no longer distinguish where Rindou ended and he began, thanks to the non consensual invasion of personal space.
With the kind of sigh that carried generations of suffering, he muttered, "Fine. We’ll go to the damn thing. Jesus.”
Rindou did everything but kick his feet and giggle. Mission: accomplished.
And little does Izana know, come this time tomorrow, he’ll be a lot less annoyed at Rindou.
--
The Shibuya Underground Bike Race was, to the innocent civilian, chaos incarnate. Smoke, neon lights, the roar of engines, and the inexplicable scent of gasoline mixed with cheap energy drinks. Every square inch of the lot was packed, crews of boys in coordinated jackets milled around (honestly though they just looked a little stupid, standing around awkwardly. These are boys 20 and under after all), bikes glinting like weapons, music blaring from giant speakers someone had definitely not gotten a permit for.
“Welcome,” Rindou said, stretching his arms out like a proud father, “to the sexiest illegal thing you’ll see this year.” If you listen closely to kakucho's grimace you can hear him almost throwing up.
Tenjiku arrived like they owned the place, even if they barely knew what the hell they were walking into. Kakucho looked unimpressed. Ran adjusted his earrings.
Izana scanned the crowd like he was still waiting for the point. Not many people are aware of this, but Izana is pretty much the grandfather of the group when it comes to these things.
“Why are all these meatheads screaming?” he muttered as a massive cheer erupted near the center stage.
“That,” Rindou said with a shit-eating grin, “would be the opening show.”
Ran raised a brow. “I thought this was a bike race. Why is there a stage?”
“Before every big race, there's a dance performance. It’s like…the fashion week of biker gang culture,” Rindou explained, casually dodging a guy on rollerblades with a smoke flare. “The best dancers get scouted months in advance. It’s the event’s opening act …but the real fun? Is the jacket game.”
“Jacket… game?” Izana echoed, one brow arching. Every word coming from rindou's mouth made him feel way too old for all this.
Rindou nodded solemnly. “Every crew begs the management team to get one of the dancers to wear their gang jacket during the show. It’s a flex. A political statement. And if your jacket ends up on the best dancer?”
He whistled low. “That’s social currency that buys you respect. Fear. Clout. Everything.”
“And,” Ran added with a knowing smirk, “a fuckload of unearned ego.”
“But wait,” Izana said, finally intrigued. “Who decides which dancer wears which jacket?”
“Depends,” Rindou shrugged. “Sometimes it’s bribery. Sometimes it’s connections. Sometimes it’s just who gets there first. But tonight…”
He leaned in, smirking wide.
“…one of the dancers is a very dear friend of mine. And not to be dramatic but every man within a 30-mile radius wants to be stepped on by her.”
Ran blinked. “Wait. You don’t mean….?”
“Oh I mean,” Rindou beamed. “Y/N’s performing tonight.”
Izana sighed. "Who the fuck is this Y—"
He didn’t get to finish the sentence.
Because right then, the crowd of a hundred-something men erupted into a frenzy of unhinged cheering. The kind of hellish hollering that made your bones rattle. Smoke curled out from under the velvet curtain, creeping across the stage floor like fog in a horror movie.
The curtain lifted.
Twenty dancers stood poised in the haze, their silhouettes sharp against the backlight. And in the center - literally and undeniably the center of attention - was one figure. Still. Calm. Radiating presence.
Izana couldn’t see your face yet. But even in the shadows, there was something magnetic about you. Something that made the air feel heavier.
“Shhh, boss,” Rindou murmured, “Just watch.”
And then the stage exploded with light.
The dancers moved with impossible precision — a perfect blend of elegance and raw power. Limbs cut through air like blades, bodies twisting and dropping with superhuman control. The audience screamed like they were possessed.
And in the middle of the storm, you danced.
You… in a crisp white jacket.
Izana’s gaze sharpened as you spun, and the back of the jacket finally came into view.
Four letters.
Four very familiar letters.
Rindou went deathly silent.
“Oh, you have got to be kidding me…”
Izana didn’t look away. Couldn’t. He just asked calmly, “What’s wrong, Haitani?”
“…ICBM.”
“Wha—?”
Izana turned his head, confused — until he fully processed what Rindou meant.
You were wearing ICBM’s jacket.
The crowd chanting their name. That smug sea of biker bastards cheering you on.
ICBM… one of the most notorious 18+ biker gangs in Japan. Flashy. Ruthless. Popular enough to be Tenjiku’s only real competition in the underground.
Logically, it made sense. Of course ICBM would gun to get the best performer - you - to wear their jacket for the opening show.
But for some reason, Izana felt…annoyed. Unreasonably so.
And judging by the twitch in Rindou’s jaw and the steam practically pouring out of his ears, there was more to this story.
Much more.
Izana didn’t move. Didn’t blink. He kept his eyes on you, watching the way your body moved with impossible rhythm, as if the music was something you commanded rather than followed.
And that jacket—
That stupid white ICBM jacket—
The way it hung off your shoulders, the gang’s letters practically glowing under the stage lights, made his jaw tighten without him fully understanding why.
"She looks good,” Kakucho muttered, arms crossed, watching the performance with casual interest.
“She always does,” Rindou snapped, still fuming.
Ran, who'd been suspiciously quiet until now, tilted his head slightly, eyes narrowing. “Wait... is that really who I think it is?”
Rindou didn’t answer. He just nodded once, tight and reluctant.
“Damn,” Ran chuckled. “Y/N’s actually performing tonight? That’s wild.”
“Y/N?” Izana echoed, his eyes finally flicking to Ran. “You know her too?”
Ran shrugged. “She’s our best girl. But I didn’t know she was still… involved.”
“Involved?” Izana repeated, suddenly and irrationally annoyed again.
Rindou finally broke his silence, voice flat and bitter. “Because her ex is the leader of ICBM.”
That made Izana pause.
“…what?”
“Hansen,” Rindou said like the name physically hurt his mouth. “Absolute walking STD. The manwhore of Tokyo.”
Ran nodded, unbothered. “Kind of iconic, honestly. Trash, but iconic.”
Izana’s expression shifted, subtle, but sharp. He turned back toward the stage, but this time his gaze was a little colder. A little more... possessive.
The music hit its final crescendo, a heavy bass drop that shook the floor, and you hit the final pose dead-center, chest rising with the last breath of exertion, ICBM jacket glinting under the light like some kind of damn crown jewel.
The lights cut to black.
Silence.
And then- the crowd erupted.
Applause, whistles, chants, stamping feet.
Even Tenjiku clapped, albeit a bit slower, a little more grudgingly.
Izana stood still, expression unreadable. But somewhere deep in his chest, something sharp and unfamiliar twisted.
Rindou clapped once, slow and sarcastic. “Yay. Fantastic. She wore their jacket. I'm gonna go throw myself into traffic.”
But of coure it doesn't just end here, not when Rindou had history, Izana had questions, and especially not when you came walking backstage, still glowing with adrenaline, and spotted them waiting.
---
"Rannie! Rin!" you said as your face erupted in a beam. You ran to them like an excited little toddler, engulfing Ran in a bear hug.
“I can’t believe you guys are actually here…” you grinned, now tucked safely in Rindou’s arms as he affectionately ruffled your hair, all proud and protective.
"Can you believe these jerks almost didn't even show up.." Rin said with a teasing smile. At that you looked at the rest of them curiously, eyes flicking to the particularly hot guy whose skin was a little more brown than the rest with striking purple eyes.
Ran, of course, noticed your pause immediately, "Oh right! We should introduce darling here to the gang shouldn’t we?" he said softly, pulling you closer to look at them,
"Y/N, this is tenjiku….tenjiku this is darling, as u already know…" he said with a gentle kiss to your forehead. You looked up at him…
“Ohhh,” you said, eyes sliding back to the others. “So this is the infamous Tenjiku.”
You gave a small wave, a bit shy, a bit playful. “Hi.”
There was a beat of silence. Most of Tenjiku gave you the usual once-over, nothing aggressive, just typical gang-boy sizing up: curious, mildly impressed, a few smirks here and there. And then there was him.
The purple-eyed one.
He didn’t look away.
Didn’t blink.
If anything, his gaze sharpened.
You held it for a moment, pretending it didn’t rattle you, but your heart was doing more flips than you had done this whole last year of practise.
“This is Izana,” Rindou said, almost reluctantly, as if he could already feel the impending chaos.
"Ahh…I remember. Your boss." You gave him a polite smile. “Nice to meet you.”
Izana tilted his head slightly, arms crossed, still watching you with unsettling intensity.
“…That jacket,” he said suddenly, voice low and smooth.
You blinked, surprised by the sharpness in his tone. “What about it?”
“You don’t seem like someone who’d wear ICBM colors,” he said, almost like he was testing you.
You sighed dramatically, your shoulders slumping just a little. “Ugh, thank you. I knew I looked stupid.”
Rindou made a noise that was one part agreement, one part suffering.
“My manager made me do it,” you explained with a pout. “Something about their team placing second last year, blah blah, politics. I didn’t even get a say this time. It was either wear the jacket or don’t perform. And I wanted to perform.” You gave them a sheepish look. “Sorry to disappoint, Rin.”
“Not your fault,” Rindou said immediately, rubbing a comforting hand down your back. “It’s disgusting, but not your fault.”
You smiled softly in relief and affection, until-
“It won’t happen again.”
The sentence dropped like a blade.
You blinked. “Huh?”
Even the rest of Tenjiku paused.
Izana stood straighter, his eyes still on you, unreadable. “Next year, we’ll be part of the race. And Tenjiku always places first. So your manager won’t have an excuse.”
You opened your mouth, then closed it.
“…Wait, are you—are you planning to compete just so I wear your jacket next year?”
Izana didn’t answer.
Didn’t need to.
His silence was louder than any yes.
You turned to Rindou, wide-eyed. He shrugged, but he was definitely holding in a laugh.
Ran, on the other hand, was not holding in anything. “Wow,” he drawled, grinning at Izana. “That was fast.”
Your face burned. You looked back at Izana, caught in the stare again, more intense now, but not quite cold anymore.
Your heart did something very stupid in your chest.
“…Y-You know you might not win next year,” you managed, trying to deflect.
synopsis: in which tenjiku tries setting you up... with your boyfriend.
warnings: none! romcom, i make fun of shion too much, kind of an open ending but there's a bonus in the end
wc: 2k
note/s: the necessary pibby tag @kakujis mwa i told you i had a kaku wip in the dms but i never said im dropping it today so surprise :DD
“ne, (y/n).” you turn your head to the source of the call, seeing kurokawa izana looking at you with a thoughtful look.
you hummed in question, replying to the gang leader.
“don’t you think kakucho looks decent today?” you tilt your head in confusion, turning your head trying to locate the scarred male. you let out a noise of acknowledgement.
“he looks the same?” you answer back. izana gives you his infamous ominous smile, one that you don’t know whether you were in trouble or you’ve managed to fall into his good graces. and you hope to whoever was listening that it was the latter.
“but doesn’t he look very… enticing to you?”
you give izana a look. “izana, if you want me to tell kaku that you lik–” “not another word.” “fine.” you huff, izana smiles once more.
“i think you and kakucho would make a perfect pair. you both serve me efficiently so i believe that you and him are meant to be.”
the look you gave izana was one for the books. “where are you going with this, exactly?” izana smiles and shakes his head.
“i’m only giving you a choice, and i think it’s in your best interest to take it.” you blinked in confusion. “i’m gonna need you to speak japanese because what you’re saying is starting to sound like filipino.” izana raises an eyebrow at the response.
you sigh, “it means you’re not making any sense.”
izana laughs, pushing himself up from the crate that he sat on before dusting off his hands.
“right, i’m going on ahead and ensuring tenjiku is in top shape.” izana bids goodbye, walking away but turning his upper body towards you after some distance, the lower part of his coat swishing with the wind, making the scene much more dramatic than this was intended.
“just think about it, okay? i’ve seen the way my servant looks at you.”
“stop calling him that, we both know you care for him as a younger brother!”
he waves his hand with his back turned to you, walking away. “would you look at that, i can’t hear you anymore.”
“izana!”
after that very weird encounter with izana, you continued on with your week, trying not to think much of it.
“oi, (y/n)!”
you look back and waved at the new company. it has been three days since then.
“oh hey, ran.” you smile as he catches up to your pace, walking alongside you.
“do you have any plans today?” you shook your head. “‘m gonna head home, i think i can still cook something for dinner, why?”
“join tenjiku and i for dinner tonight, our treat, come on.” “eh? you don’t have to do that.” ran shakes his head with a smirk, “no seriously, izana told me to fetch you, said he wants to talk to you about something.“
you were beginning to get confused, sure you and izana were somewhat on decent terms but you don’t really expect to be having dinner with him or his little gang buddies, but who were you to say no to free food?
“where?” “some ramen place by the corner of this block.” ran slings an arm around your shoulder, luring you into the inside of the street.
“do i have a choice in this?” “depends if you want some rando to get beaten up by izana because you didn’t follow his orders.” the both of you laughed before you agreed, letting him lead you to the ramen shop.
once you both enter, you see izana and his heavenly kings in one booth, discussing amongst themselves. when rindou catches sight of you, he waves ran over and you can see the way rindou’s eyes kept flicking to the side, as if he were nonverbally telling ran something, and with the way those siblings worked, you wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
“ah right.” ran clasped his hands together before smirking. “there’s only one chair left so you’ll be separated.” a frown enters your face. why bother inviting you over if they’re just going to isolate you?
before you could voice out that you’d rather just head home and eat in the comfort of your own home than eat alone in public, you hear a deep voice apologize from behind you.
“sorry, i’m late.” izana tilts his head, the usual smile plastered on his face.
“it’s not like you to be tardy, kakucho.” you turn around to see the aforementioned standing behind you, a smile unintentionally enters your face, not slipping under tenjiku’s sharp eyes.
“oh? it looks like a booth just opened up.” it didn’t. mochi was just saving the seat for when you and kakucho arrived but you didn’t need to know that.
without another warning, you and kakucho were pushed into a booth by muto and shion, a goofy smirk on shion’s face was made evident when he pushed kakucho to sit in front of you.
kakucho, being caught off guard almost throws a punch but luckily his mismatched eyes caught sight of you looking at him and all plans to carve shion’s face in disappears.
“enjoy.” was all muto says before the two of them go back to the booth that the other tenjiku members were occupying.
once the two of you were alone, you gave kakucho another look before giving him a smile.
“hey.” you greet. kakucho nods in acknowledgement, lips subtly quirking up.
“hey.”
look. rindou wouldn’t call himself a nosy person– that’s a lie, he and his brother eat gossip up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, maybe even as a snack. but he isn’t nosy, he swear. (he has an innate talent of making himself seem indifferent.)
“ne, kakucho.” rindou asks as he sets down the dumbbell with a grunt. kakucho, who was working on bench presses, huffed out a reply. why he didn’t bother putting down the weight was beyond rindou.
“what do you think of (y/n)?” kakucho puts down the weight he was pressing as he sits up, “where is this coming from?” rindou plays it off cool as he sips his bottle of water.
“dunno, just thought i’d ask. she seems to be hanging out with tenjiku often. just wanted to know what your thoughts were.” kakucho looks at rindou warily. “you know she has a boyfriend, right?”
rindou did not know that. his eyes widened, he looked as if he wanted to ask kakucho for more information but kakucho was already preparing to do his next workout.
rindou will ask later, for now, he whips out his phone and messages ran.
[aniki, you won’t believe what i just found out.]
to say the next tenjiku intervention was annoying would be an understatement.
you’ve got all the heavenly kings’ eyes on your every move, trying to decipher out who your boyfriend was. at first, it was honestly quite funny having mochi converse with you and try to get you to talk about your love life– he failed.
next, you had shion try to woo you into his charms and that didn’t work, although the slap mark he presented when he walked around the warehouse was hilarious.
hell, even izana tried to find out who your boyfriend was, but in the end, it was for naught since he realized that he doesn’t need to ask you. he can just ask his servant himself.
“kakucho.” “yes?”
“who’s (y/n)’s boyfriend?” kakucho looks at izana with a blank expression before he focuses his attention on his phone.
“i’m not the person you should ask.”
having enough of the secrecy, it was ran who concocted a plan to find out who your boyfriend was.
it wasn’t as if they really cared that you were in a relationship, but they’ve dug so far out that they want to see something come out of it— read: they did not want to admit that they were bored and really curious to know. so they resorted to their last plan.
follow you around.
“madarame i swear if you won’t stop breathing down my neck–” “maybe if you give enough space, you’re taking it all you fucking gorilla–“
“rindou, are you sure that this is where (y/n) will be?” ran whispers, ignoring the chaos happening in the background. rindou nods, “saw it on (y/n)’s phone. the contact name was a heart but i didn’t manage to see the contact picture.”
they hear a huff from behind them, muto was squished between the squabbling mochi and madarame, he was this close to knocking their heads together just to shut them up.
“could’ve saved us a lot of trouble than having to stand and hide here for the past hour. why do we have to hide anyway? isn’t this still considered tenjiku’s terf?” muto’s question was left unanswered as the ran shushed everyone when he heard the door open.
the soft pitter patter of your feet was heard as you walked in further in the warehouse. they held their breaths, as another heavier pair of footsteps contrasted against your own.
rindou peers from one of the crates, squinting at his very best to figure out who you were with.
“what?! what do you see?” shion harshly whisper yells, if your ears were any sharper, you would’ve realized that you and your boyfriend were not alone.
“shion, shut the fuck up.” ran drags him by his hair and situates himself to where shion has just been.
“what do you see?”
rindou squints more, “can’t see them properly, but the guy is wearing a hoodie, the hood’s up. can’t see him properly but he’s built nice.” blinks and silence.
rindou glares at his colleagues. “what? it looks like he works out.”
“you got everything you need, baby?” they hear your voice ask, they all quiet down. waiting to hear your mystery man speak, hoping to at least hear his voice for further research.
it seems like your boyfriend only gave you a nod because they heard your voice once more, asking if he was ready to leave.
“wait.” your boyfriend whispers to you. your hand tightly held with his. “we’re not alone.”
before you can ask what he meant, you were startled when he let go of your hand and threw a wooden box to the metal crates where the rest of the tenjiku members hid.
they winced at both the vibration and the sound of the metal being hit.
“whoever you are, you have a minute to get the fuck out of here before i beat you up.” jaws were dropped by the tenjiku members once they realized who the voice belonged to.
it was ran who walked out first, wanting to confirm who your boyfriend was. the rest of the members barrelled out once they heard ran say,
“kakucho, you fucking bastard.”
bonus, before the revelation:
“babyy.” you whine as you stretch in kakucho’s embrace. kakucho smiles at you, mirth in his eyes as he drops his head down and presses a quick press on your forehead.
“izana was trying to get us together.” kaku huffs out a laugh, “i’ll tell him about us next week.” you nod, arms tightening around him as you find comfort in his embrace.
“the haitanis were acting weird too. i think i caught rindou looking at my phone when your text notified.” kakucho listened to your voice, rambling about how tenjiku was acting weird ever since they found out you had a boyfriend.
well, kakucho did tell rindou that you had one, but kakucho never denied that it was him. rindou never asked anyway, so he technically didn’t do anything wrong.
“you’re okay with them finding out that you’re with me, right?” kakucho asks, wanting assurance.
you cup his hands in response, pressing a soft, yet sweet kiss on his pouty lips in response.
“you’re all that i could ever ask for and more, kaku.” kakucho smiles, feeling undeserving of your love yet still holding you tight that he never wants to let go.
not that he’d let you go, either.
if his friends– or colleagues find out, who cares? he’d keep you private but he’d never deny you. too bad they didn't just ask, though.
note/s: gasps. two fics in one week? this is so not like me (let's enjoy my fic spurts while we can)
