Okay Petblr, I need some ideas.
My Leos have nearly outgrown their tanks & will be moving up to 40 gallons this month which will leave me with 2 empty 10 gallon terrariums. I want to use at least one of them so I'm looking for ideas for a pet that can happily live in it! General internet searches aren't quite helping so I'd love some ideas from you guys (also if you could link a care sheet for your suggested animal that would be super helpful!)
question for people who know stuff about terrariums: for a closed terrarium, is it safe and/or will it kill the plants if i use a hunk of bismuth as decor for it? ik it’s a heavy metal, but i also know it’s not particularly toxic, so...
Help I think I saw a bug in my succulent!
So I was just watering my succulents as usual and as I picked up the pair in the square glass container I saw something really tiny and light grayish/white almost clear bug in the dirt by the roots. I googled it and it said it might be mealys but it didn’t look as fat, looked a little longer/more ovalish. I couldn’t get a picture of it, sorry. Plant side of tumblr I need your help, I already lost one to overwatering I am not going to loose the rest to bugs.
i really want to adopt a tarantula in order to sort of open my mind & heart to some bug friends, while also getting over being so panicky around spiders/other bugs. what would you recommend as a beginner tarantula? i have a few tank set ups in mind already, i would prefer ground dwelling over arboreal, but im super open. id also love something with a little bit of color, but that's totally not required. tips & advice are all appreciated !! 🕷️🕸️
Important Question
So I know you can't use a terrarium tank as an aquarium, but can you do the opposite; use an aquarium tank as a terrarium tank?
I ask because I was helping a family friend clean out a house and found a (I think 5 gallon) fish tank. I've been wanting to get a class pet for my 3-year-olds so I was thinking of using the tank to house 2 hermit crabs.
Hello plant friends of tumblr! I request help from those more knowledgeable in plants and particularly in terrariums. My friend’s terrarium has started to die because for three weeks it didn’t get enough sunlight (she was out and left it with a friend who unfortunately did not take care of it very well) but she wants to try and figure out how to fix it. Her words: “ I want to help my terrarium but don’t know where to start apart from replacing the dead plants. But I’m worried about killing the few alive ones during that process. Any advice would be appreciate.”
