Shared from a friend who wishes to remain anonymous. So many people have been asking about jikata and natori geiko, so here’s some images from a recent ozashiki. The jikata is the very popular Danyū (だん祐) and the two natori geiko who aren’t wearing oshiroi or a hikizuri are Terutoyo (照豊) in pink and Takazuru (孝鶴) in cream. The other geiko are Tsuruha (つる葉) in green and Eriha (恵里葉) in blue/cream combo, both from the Tama (多麻) okiya. The maiko is Chiyoko (知余子) of Nishimura (西村) who recently became a geiko in November (these images were taken in October). It’s rare to even have one natori geiko at an ozashiki, let alone two, so this person was very lucky to see such a performance of karyukai talent at many different levels ^^

Exchanging respects and greeting for the New Year by SANADA KYOTO on Flickr
Alleys of Gion Kobu are very narrow so geiko and maiko stand close to each other when they pay the respects. There is no way to pass unnoticed, especially during the New Year season. It's an obligation to stop and greet the passing-by.
Tea Ceremony of Miyako Odori 2014: geiko Terutoyo and maiko Satsuki by @aokikyou on Instagram
I'm SO HAPPY to see my all-time favourite kimono again! It belongs to the Tsurui okiya and it has pattern of wisteria. I've seen it before on Sayaka!
