im happy but whyyyy
my bottom growth is already going along, and I'm happy, but one of the main things I do to stim is bouce my legs. like constantly. but because of how thick my thighs are, it accidentally stimulates it and then I'm all hot and bothered. whyyyyyyyyyyyy honestly I'm lucky that it wasn't super bad the first week and a half because I was on vacation with my gf and that would have awful
been thinking about tattoos a lot lately (like so much 🥲) and I don't plan on using testosterone patches for myself but here're a couple silly tattoo ideas for anybody who does use 'em
these are free to use ofc (maybe just draw up less shitty versions for yourself if you actually want these on your body...? but you do you, dude) I just had to get em out of my system. I can't be the only person who's thought of this anyway lmao
My first testosterone patch!!
if i can pluck out the courage to come out to my doctors and contact the trans team at my hospital, i can start seeing a gender therapist and start medically transitioning soon!! :))
also does anyone know the age where hormone blockers stop being effective? i’m not on them, but i want to know if i can take them and have them actually do something (i’m afab if that makes a difference)
i finally switched to the testosterone patch! also it was visible on my arm almost all day when i was working, so i'm sure a lot patrons walked away with interesting theories about it
Does anybody have tips on how to reduce skin irritation with the testosterone patch? I don't think it's an allergic reaction so much as "when I bend in any way my skin stretches and it fucks with the adhesive which then fucks with my skin" but I'm soooo itchy constantly, but I REALLY don't want to use another method if I don't absolutely have to.
If you’re not already switching patch sites, start there so that you’re not reapplying to the same spot—try not to use the same site consecutively within a week, if possible. You should also avoid putting it over bony joints where your skin stretches (like on top of your hip bone), or sites that you sit or sleep on.
If you are already doing that, there’s a few different options. Unscented lotions can help lasting irritation—anything you’d put on a tattoo can usually go over this kind of reaction. Everyone has their pet brands, but I’m a fan of CeraVe. You can also try OTC hydrocortisone cream, which is used to treat things like bug bites or eczema; it’s a mild topical corticosteroid that specifically targets itching. There are also stronger formulations of this that are prescription-only.
I’m basing this all on the assumption that it’s not an allergy, because you’re likely right in that assessment considering just how common skin reactions to the adhesive are. If nothing you try on your own is working, it’s worth mentioning this to your doctor, who can prescribe you either a stronger corticosteroid or tramcinolone acetonide, which is actually indicated on the FDA info packet for Androderm as a potential option to help reactions:
Applying a small amount of 0.1 % tramcinolone acetonide cream (Rx) to the skin under the central [drug] reservoir of the Androderm system has been shown to reduce the incidence and severity of skin irrtation [sp]. The administration of 0.1 % tramcinolone acetonide cream (Rx) does not significantly alter transdermal absorption of testosterone from the system. Ointment formulations should not be used for pretreatment as they may signifcantly reduce testosterone absorption.
Apologies for the italics; block quote broke for some reason.
If the reaction goes beyond just itching and irritation—e.g. if you start to get hives or swelling—then stop using the patch and call your doctor. It’s unlikely, and I’m inclined to come down on the side of this being a common mild reaction, but I feel obligated to mention that just in case you do develop an allergy or larger reaction. Hopefully something here works for you, though!

Yo! Question about Androderm: Is the central bubble/pouch part supposed to be completely empty at the end of 24 hours? Or is the T just being transferred out of some other material, which is left behind in the bubble when the T is all absorbed into your skin? (I started T last week with the patch, and am kinda anxious about whether or not it's working right). Thanks!
Zak: No, the reservoir should not completely drain. That is, there will always still be some gel left at the end of the day. I’ve read conflicting things about what is left behind, whether or not it’s just the gel that the testosterone is suspended in. Regardless, having stuff left over in the reservoir is normal and doesn’t mean that the testosterone is not being absorbed. Really the only want to tell whether or not it is properly being absorbed is to have your levels tested at your next doctor’s appointment.
