Ever since his incident with Sophia- the apology to the pile of coats, not the disaster of a kiss- Jake hadn’t really gotten out of the house much. He had managed to get his long winded apology out to her, only to realise that she hadn’t heard a single word of it and he was more than a little embarrassed. He still couldn’t believe how stupid he had been and at this point, he would honestly just take an ounce of friendship from her over anything romantic, if only so he would stop obsessing over every little interaction he had ever had.
Speaking of, his mind was still reeling over that game of seven minutes in heaven where he had ridiculously implied that all the girls there wanted to see him naked and then, as if that hadn’t been idiotic enough, he had winked at New Girl. Sutton. It honestly took him weeks to remember her name, but he couldn’t stop thinking about how much of an ass he had been to her that night.
It was just then that he turned a corner and almost walked straight into the girl. “Shit! Woah, sorry. I- Sorry. Hey.” Jake smiled at her and waved his hand a little before moving it down into his pocket. “Sutton. Hey, Sutton. How’s things?” Please, for the love of god, let the ground just swallow him whole.
