How would you sort the characters from The Great ?

I only really care about Catherine and Peter in this show (and maybe Marial, maaaybe) so I won't spare braincells trying to sort the others.

Catherine ia NOT a Loyalist. She's not a Snake; as she herself says: she loves Peter, but she loves Russia more. Peter's response "You are not even Russian." is 100% true and what's more I don't think Catherine cares about Russia itself (I find it hard to imagine she would know to explain the tradition and history of her adoptive country if you ever asked her), but about the idea of Russia. So, she's not a Badger either.

This leaveas us with Bird and Lion and I am honestly torn on this one. I am leaning more towards Lion because she has that Internal primary energy. Not to mention, in the finale, she refuses to kill Peter in front of Voltaire because Voltaire is a paragon of virtue and she feels dirty committing murder in front of him. But she had no problem doing it when he wasn't there. I think to a Bird this would be a pretty WTF reasoning.

Bottom line: Catherine is probably a Lion who changed her cause from being a great wife for Peter to being a great Empress for Russia.

Her secondary is harder. She is not a Snake, but starts to develop a model to survive the Russian court. I don't think she's a Badger either, fluid secondaries simply don't fit her. I am in between Lion amd Bird and I am leaning towards the latter. Catherine likes plans and freaks out when they don't really work as she wants. She likes collecting books, ideas and even people once she makes up her mind to overthrow Peter. A good example of what I think is her Burd secondary is the smallpox episode where she turns to books to find a solution and finds out about vaccines.

Peter...oh dear Lord, Peter! He is an awful, awful person who is not easy to sort. My best bet would be he is a Snake Lion. A veeeery immature Snake primary that seems to have his dead mom, his aunt and maybe Georgina and Grigor in his Inner Circle. But his most important person is clearly himself. At least till he falls for Catherine at the end of season 1. Just look at their conflict in the finale: as a Snake he's heartbroken Catherine would choose something as ridiculously abstract as Russia when she already loves him and he loves her and their child.

I am going with Lion secondary because nothing else fits. The idea of Peter as a Snake or a Badger is laughable. He is not a Bird either and it can't be more clear than when you compare him with Catherine. Peter is stubborn, direct, wants to do things NOW. This wouldn't be a bad quality if he wasn't a spoiled brat that have been handed unlimited power. As it is, the Lion secondary is making him even more of a tyrant.

TLDR: Empress Catherine II of Russia - Lion Bird with Snake secondary model

Emperor Peter III of Russia - very immature Snake Lion.

About Donato and Amon

I think it's too early for Donato to die. The man can clone himself and Nico's even there to heal his injuries. Furthermore, he has yet to talk to Amon about the secrets he knew all the time. Not to mention the fact that he should probably tell him why Amon's always been special to him. I'm still stuck with the theory that Donato will change Amon's perspective toward the world. Amon finally needs to face his personality issues in order to accept and brace his ghoul side and balance out the two sides of him.

As long as Hide doesn't "die" again then I'm okay with whatever this is. The guy’s been working very hard. I want him to have happiness.

You know, I actually wanted to discuss this since the last chapter. What will Touka do if Yoriko is still alive? We don’t get definitive clarification regarding her status but since Mutsuki talked about “arrest” and suggested they have a talk in private I’ll assume she’s still alive. So Will Touka go rescue her? I think she will. Facing the possibility that her best friend is still alive but suffering a lot and all because of her, because she’s a ghoul and they’re friends - Touka can’t possibly just let her suffer and die if there’s a chance of saving her.

Soooo, the inner conflict will be that Touka doesn’t want to endanger the group. There’s a lot at risk if she goes to search and rescue her. Even if the whole gang goes, it’s still an unnecessary risks since they won’t gain any benefits from it. But then again, same goes for the lab operation to save Akira. It was a personal issue for Kaneki, but speaking from the perspective of the OEK and the group as a whole it was selfish as he could have saved themselves a lot of trouble if he stayed with the others instead if scattering the forces. And it’s different this time, since the goats are already in a tight spot rn and there might be traps everywhere as Mutsuki and co. are already awaiting them. So i was wondering if she’d even consult the others about Yoriko. If she does, she can bet her ass that the others will support her to rescue Yoriko and she wouldn’t want to cause trouble for everyone bc of her own issues.

Now in this chapter we see Kaneki wondering if she’s ok/hurt and we know she isn’t. She’s in distress. She good at hiding it. Her facial expression looks completely neutral when she talks to Kaneki, just like when she told Mutsuki that she doesn’t know Kosoka. That leads me to assume that she doesn’t want to let anyone else know about it at all. She probably gonna go save Yoriko herself and I’m super worried. [The other, although less likely, possibilities here are that she won’t go save Yoriko bc if she gets captured or anything, you can bet hell will break lose on Kaneki and co’s side and that’s a lot of trouble for the group too. Or, she figured it was just a bluff bc it didn’t smell like Yoriko? But she gets triggered and sad anyways :(

I can’t begin to fathom how worried and stressed she must feel now, especially having to act like nothing happened and shouldering it alone. So she asks Kaneki about Hide. What does he feel, how would he act? She’s indirectly asking for advice. And Kaneki apologizes bc he’s not much of a help there. When he felt like seeing him he never did it or anything else to help fill that need (he’s probably referring to how he always kept his distance to not endanger Hide and well, you know, afterwards he could not go see him at all…) So he always just ends up missing him even more. *rips heart out*

And then she pins him down. Might have to do with her missing and actually being thirsty for him for a long time, but what I think really was the trigger here is that she’s looking for relief from the pain both of them share. It just simple as that but then again it’s deep. It gives me feels bc they’re both hurting and she’s looking for a way to make it go away for even just a short moment. She might be a little desperate bc it hurts so much… So many emotions are overwhelming her.

Kaneki is right. They both need some rest…

The steel skin of ghouls

So as we know since the first few a chapters ghouls have a hard steel like skin. The first instance in which we get to see this is when Kaneki tries to get the kakuhou out of him by using a knife. Important to note is that Kens kakugan only activated once he was bracing for the impact. The one time he did get cut with normal object was after Jason injected some RC surpressants through his eyes / eyelids. But if the skin is steel hard wouldnt it not matter if the rc cells were inactive or active ? It does matter.

To get my point further i need to look back pn.my argument about how Kens kakugan only activated when he was bracing for the impact. As we know Ken at the time couldnt control his rc cells and through that i presume that every movemt of the rc cells in the body would trigger the kakugan to activate. You can also see this very easy with Mutsukis example . That means that at the time of him preparing to stab himself his rc cells moved , right ?

Now to my last argument : a certain line in ch 112 of TG re. “ Hit him the right amount of damage . Just enough to get his rc cells to turn their attention to healing“. Hsiao was , as we know , planning to inject Urie with rc surrpressants with a needle , a normal needle.

So basically what i have come up with is that the skin of a ghoul is only hard at the places its being hit on . The​ rc cells harden the area around the incoming impact. That basicall means that ghouls would be penetrateable by normal knives if they dont see it coming at all. This would be very difficult though because of the senses of a ghoul making a ghouls skins seem oh so strong.

Ok. Since Spoilers are coming out for :Re Chapter 108 already, it’s getting a lot harder to trust a lot of characters that are coming into battle with each other. I think the perfect song for those shady characters would be “Trouble” by Taylor Swift. Because...I knew you, you , and you were trouble when you walked in. Please send a protection team to original Suzuya Squad and Urie’s team.

Ya know...

I'm not ganna lie and this is not a hate description or anything, but I feel like it's finally time for Ken to redeem as a result of the destruction, chaos and slaughtering he brought about throughout Tokyo which is why I find it really interesting that as Furuta anticipated everthying in the past, humans and ghouls cannot but join hands in order to defeat the OEK who held a slaughtering fist towards his enemies. Plus I know that Furuta pulled the trigger of all of these events, but he's not actually doing a bad job introducing dragoneki to the world to let people see what he's committed (altho people already know what's happening) and no matter how much he regrets it now, I don't think he will be able to brings back the lives he took by merely saying "Sorry"....This is just my opinion tho
